Amy at SDL Plumbing was one of the most rude customer service individuals I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. We traded several voicemails but set up an appointment for today from 8-12. At 12 when I called to ask if anyone was coming she told me I never spoke with anyone, made an appointment, and was condescending that I did not know the name of the woman that I spoke with and made the appointment with. I am shaking she was SO RUDE. I rearranged my work schedule to accommodate being home. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THERE IS A REASON THEY HAVE AN F RATING WITH THE BBB.

Both toilets in my house clogged, had only been living there a few months so figure the last owners must have had a back up in the works, or the workers flushed a rag or something. Dealt with AHS already and dread calling because anyone with any brains has figured out by now that it's a scam, so I try all the tricks myself with no luck. So I have no choice and call American Home Shield, they send these jokers out. The first guy, Shelton or something, takes a brief look around and claimed I had no clean out, (what?) and steps out to call AHS, comes back and quotes me a few hundred dollars to bring some men and a machine out and get on my roof. I tell him no.. and he leaves. Five minutes of youtube later I, single lady, first time home owner, found my clean out, in the dark, exactly where it should be. I call them back, and let them know that I found it in five minutes, obviously they're trying to take advantage me, they just laugh it off and say they'll 'be right out' in the morning. More trips to the gas station to use the restroom, go to bed praying I don't have to wake up needing to go. Next day, I inform my boss I have to work from home.. never hear from anyone. Around noon I call and ask why no one has been in touch and am told my window is 2-6pm. Nice to know, I could have been at work. Close to 6pm a guy calls and tells me his car broke down and it will be hours before someone can come jump him. Hours. Neat, of course. This whole time, my 19 year old daughter and I are having to go to the gas station to use the facilities. We are not happy. After several phone calls another guy comes out hours later, and after lots of grunting and warnings that I do not need to hear at this point (boy sure hope we ain't dealin with no roots), pulls out one baby wipe and starts to lecture me about flushing baby wipes. I don't have a baby, we do not flush wipes or paper towels or anything but toilet paper and I'm highly irritated at this point. I don't pay people money to treat me like a five year old that just ate a crayon. He says he has to go call AHS to make sure they'll cover it (what?) He comes back and informs me that it's covered, but if they have to come out again and it's a wipe, they'll charge me full price (what?!) I should have just done a business on his shoe at that point. So despite my warranty, despite the fact that I did not flush the wipe, and considering there are probably more wipes that he was unable to retrieve that the previous owner likely flushed, I'm flabbergasted. He encourages me to give him a good review and leaves.

If I could give zero stars I would. I am very after reading these reviews that I did not have work done from them. I returned their call to set up an appointment AMY first just put me on hold without even telling me when she picked up the phone, after waiting 5 minutes she came back on. I asked to set up an appointment and her tone was very rude. She said I'll give you Wednesday between 2-6. I said I am not available on Wednesday can we do the weekend, she said "you can have Wednesday or you can call American Home Shield and get someone else" she then hung up on me. I called back to speak with a manager she put me on hold for 7 minutes then hung up on me"

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. We scheduled for SDL Plumbing to come out through our home warranty company (American Home Shield). Lonnie showed up and I showed him what needed to be repaired. He turned the water on upstairs for a minute, then went to his car for 30 minutes without explaining what he was doing or where he was going. When he finally came back in he told me we needed to hire someone else to remove our bathroom mirror and repair the holes in the walls they would have to make to repair the upstairs bathroom. He said we need a "clean out" and he couldn't make repairs through the attic and would have to charge us $550.

We felt weird about his recommendations and got a second opinion from Roto Rooter. The guy who came out went right into the attic, repaired the clog, all for $194. I asked if a clean out was needed and they told me no. That a clean out wouldn't really help with the problem we were having.

It all seemed like a big scam then we came to Yelp to find everyone who has had this company come to their home felt the same way.

They came out for a hot water heater. They were contracted by our home warranty company. They gave us a quote for over 1000 bucks including what the home warranty company was paying. In the end we called another company who gave us a better price with a better water heater without using the home warranty. They claimed everything was a modification and wanted outrageous prices for them. They were also charging $250 for a pan which home depot sells for $25. They were also charging $250 for a permit. Ummm. Ripoff.

American Home Shield sent these guys out. The plumber reeked of cigarettes. He called American Home Shield and told them that the water heater failed due to a secondary cause, causing American Home Shield to exclude from coverage the replacement water heater. Sdl sent me a quote for a replacement water heater installation, just a dollar amount. I asked the receptionist for a detailed, itemized estimate so I would know the work to be performed, and she informed me that they only provide detailed estimates AFTER they have been hired for the job. Unbelievable. Stay far, far away from these guys.

One of the biggest rip off companies in Dallas! We had a whole-house warranty through American Home Shield (another rip-off) and this was the company the sent out when we had air conditioning problems. They came out 4 times and charges us $100 service calls each time...still didn't resolve the problem.

Then when our toilets were leaking (the interior flapper mechanism), we called them again. After charging us $414 to repair, they started leaking again in 3 weeks. When we called for them to return, they said "we have no record of being at your home". DON'T CALL THESE CROOKS!

Exact same issues as other reviewers. This company is horrible. They used the "excessive force" description on my bathtub drain plug on my home warranty repair request (drain is 18 yrs. old), so it was going to cost $190.00 for them to repair. Surprised this company stays in business, they are crooked.

I would give no stars if I could. The technician absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke, so badly that I would have denied entry to the house if he needed in.

They basically charged us (well, landlord, but he refused to cover it) to fix something they poorly installed two months ago. It's no wonder they work through a home warranty, as I'm sure they'd struggle to gain or retain customers otherwise.

Negative -10 stars. master plumber my a**. sdl sent out a so called "master plumber" on sunday 7/15/18 to my house who told me i needed to have the main line flushed out from the roof and it would take 2 men and that it would be $489. they are contracted by american home shield home warranty and he also said American home shield doesn't cover flush outs from the roof. i called a plumber on my own the following day who came out and said sdl plumber didn't know what he was talking about because the flush out for my house is ground level and that the only thing on the roof is a 'vent.' i paid the plumber i called on Monday to do the job then called sdl to let them know as a courtesy that their plumber is giving out incorrect information and basically wasting my time and money and the lady that answered the phone after explaining all of this to her says 'do you want me to have our plumber call you to explain the diagnosis?' like she didn't hear a word i said....so i said the diagnosis was wrong obviously...so why would i want to hear that again? I said you can call the plumber that I paid to do the job correctly if you'd like... then she says 'well how can we believe the other plumber?' such a racket and what a joke. might want to rethink using this company for any big or small jobs. i'll be reporting to the better business bureau and cancelling my American home shield home warrant as they just charge numerous service fees and keep sending incompetent contractors to my house.
