So this company started out great. The salesman was very attentive, the office manager. She was very friendly, and after the panels were installed and they got 95% of their money all communication stopped. I text emailed called everyone including the owner and got no response. I would never work with these people again.

Scurfield had put in a solar panel system for my wife and I about 6 years ago which helped with our electricity bill tremendously. So 6 years later we had some issues with a couple of our panels not working correctly. I called Scurfield and told them the problem. They sent someone out to troubleshoot the issues. After thinking it could one thing, parts were ordered. In the meantime, our whole home dehumidifier got fried during one of many power outages we have where we live. I called Scurfield and asked if they dealt with home dehumidifiers and sure enough they did. They sent Steve out to take a look and then we were provided with an estimate and fair price for replacing the old one. After a couple of weeks, Reed and Spencer came out and started on the dehumidifier and also the solar panel problem. Two days later, we had a new dehumidifier up and running and all of the solar panel problems were fixed. The guys worked from the minute they got here until the end of each day. They were extremely nice and provided answers to all of our questions. They were very professional and at the end of the day made sure everything was cleaned up and neat just like when they arrived. My wife and I couldn't be happier with Ben Scurfield and his company and all of his employees that we came into contact with. Shout out to Ben, Steve, Eric, Wendy, Matt, Reed and Spencer. We would highly recommend them for any electrical, heating & air, dehumidifier and solar.

We recently purchased a commercial property and we were interested in adding a solar system to offset energy costs and lower our carbon footprint. I called Scurfield solar and left a message. After two weeks and receiving no callback, I contacted them again. This time I spoke to someone in the office and we set up a time for Brian to come out to meet with us. I was asked to send in my PG& E records for the past year so that a solar system could be designed. We met with Brian several days later and talked about the system we wanted and also inquired about adding a heat pump to the system for our heating and cooling to replace the gas HVAC system. Brian was nice and seemed excited about the project and told us about Scurfield's professionalism and how that set them apart from other solar companies. He said he would get back to us soon with a complete work up. After two weeks and no contact, I called Brian and asked if he had a plan yet. He said he had been working on it and would have something for us the next day. After two months we have yet to hear back from Scurfield and have moved on to Greenwired and have a project on the books for next year. So much for professionalism.

It has been quite an adventure bringing solar power, battery storage, and high efficiency heat pumps systems to my home over the last year or so. We couldn't have asked for better partners than the crew at Scurfield. As with most home improvements, we were faced with obstacle after obstacle including a substandard roof, permitting challenges, complex PGE program, supply chain delay and more. At every step of the way, the Scurfield team navigated the bumps professionally and we have accomplished all the goals we set out for my home and family exactly as smoothly and economically as possible. No hesitation to recommend them. In fact, I have recommended them to at least three other folks that had similar experiences!

They did not push the product like a timeshare salesman which I have experienced elsewhere...I chose them in part based on good reviews from others on Next-Door (Northern Humboldt County one on FB) This is too important to accept a ""bargain product & service"". I was looking for options for a radiant heating system, and asked my flooring contractor. He recommended Scurfield Solar. Ben's crew did an amazing job. These guys love their craft, and we're happy to explain everything to us. They were respectful of us, our dogs, and our home. Shoe covers to protect our carpet! Wow. They will be taking over the service on our solar hot water, and solar electric from a previous home owner, and we would recommend them for any new heating systems.

Ben and his crew were faced with a radiant heating system which was installed incorrectly and with a leaking water heater. Over the course of a few days he found a heater, installed it, and corrected other problems to perfection. It now works completely as it should. I especially appreciated how both Ben and his crew took time to explain what they were doing. Even though this system looks like something you might find on a spaceship, I feel I have a grasp of how it works thanks to Ben and his crew.

Ben came out and checked my panels and controller that were in place when I bought my home. My controller was reporting an earth fault. He found several issues, and promised to provide an estimate to repair those items. After a month with no contact, I sent an email reminding him that I hadn't heard from him. I received a response the same day from Julie, promising that they would ""take care of this as soon as possible"". That was over two weeks ago. Guess I'll shop for someone else who works on solar.
