We had our water heater leak on a Saturday morning and another issue simultaneously. We called Scottie's and they never returned our call. We have used them in the past, but this is maddening. Why say that you have 24/7 coverage, if you do not. We had to have a plumber come from Mount Vernon.

Scotties is not worth your time, I made the mistake of calling them for a blockage issue at my rental property and needless to say I was charged 300 for them to show up and NOT fix the problem, even though I called back and asked them to make sure I was not going to be calling back again in a few days. He reassured me that was not going to be the case and sure enough 4 days later I was calling their ""24hs"" emergency line which by the way even if you leave messages nobody will get back to you so I don't see the point of having that. If you need something done call CPI they will make sure things get done as they should.

I really am very unsure about the negative reviews, I have no idea why they are so negative. Of course I did read the reviews before hiring them, however the referral came from my property manager. We have a home in Anacortes, WA that we had rented out, it's a brand new custom home. The landscaper noted that the water pressure was very low in the sprinkler systems and my high water bills suggested a water leak. I called another company in Anacortes, they went out and took a look and said there was a leak but they didn't have the proper equipment to accurately diagnose where the leak was, they freaked me out by saying it could be under the concrete driveway which would require serious excavation. They they said that they couldn't even find the leak because they would have to dig a bunch of holes up to even locate it and it's a guessing game, they referred me to this other company that has this high tech technology to diagnose where the leak was. JUST TO DIAGNOSE AND LOCATE THE LEAK it was going to be AT LEAST $500.00, they were honest and clear that it would probably be much more than that (let alone to actually fix the leak!). We are not physically on the west coast anymore so this was SO overwhelming. I consulted my property manager, he texted me a name and a number, I looked them up, saw the negative reviews but contacted him regardless because I trust me property manager (Jason Mcfadyen at Windermere) blindly. I AM SO Happy I did. Scottie went out there, right away, took a look, efficiently found a starting place, never mentioned high tech equipment, before you knew it he was digging, and then again before I knew it he found the leak, fixed it, invoiced. DONE AND DONE.

I don't want you to think that he didn't inform me that this could be super bad, and expensive. He did say the same thing, he did say it may be under the driveway and that would be horrible as far as expense and labor. HOWEVER his attitude didn't start off as this will require a lot of work let's anticipate the worst and go from there. He had a high regard of money, he was intelligent enough to figure out a starting place without fancy schmancy equipment. The final cost is FAR FAR FAR below what I would have paid elsewhere and I am so happy I hired them. I will definitely be calling them for future tasks as needed.

Would not recommend. Had them come to fix a toilet that kept running. Even though the other two toilets had no problems for the seven years since having them installed, the plumber recommend replacing guts in the tanks so I reluctantly took his advise. Fixed problem toilet fine. However, one of the other toilets he replaced the guts in started doing the exact same thing. The problem was in getting them back to fix the problem he created. Their receptionist is less than charming and lacks acceptable people skills for her job let alone telephone and customer service skills. I called and spoke to her 3 times in a two month period and each time it was starting over again, with a yah yah lady, will let some one know attitude, leaving me with the distinct feeling no one was going to take care of this extremely easy to fix problem I'm sure, that they caused. I have always spoke politely to her with great restrained patience. The 4th time I called was merely around 8 days later and as usual she was clueless to my plight yet again. So I got irritated and she was not having that so hung up on me. I got a call 5 minutes later from the equally rude owner Scottie himself. Never again. That is not good customer service. Making the completely offended customer the bad guy does not make you the Best in Oak Harbor. Your friends voting for you did.

They will not provide a free estimate. The person answering calls even said they will charge just to show up at your house. She also stated they won't do small plumbing jobs like a kitchen sink pipe hook up. Terrible if you ask me.

Scottie's has helped me on several occasions and has always been timely, fairly priced and very helpful. I recently had to replace defective piping for my entire heating system and they did it all in one day and much cheaper than another quote.

I would never hire this plumber again. They came out a second time to repair the same issue and blamed us for turning the water on too soon even though we waited several hours as instructed. When questioned about the very high bill the owner yelled at us over the phone and refused to provide us with documentation of the work performed. This was after making repeated attempts to get ahold of him, as he refuses to return calls. We are filing a complaint with the Department of Labor & Industries.

OVERPRICED. Scottie charged us 100.00 to TURN ON my water heater. I would have turn it on myself if the city wouldn't have left a note advising us against doing so. (It is required that a licensed plumber turn on the water after a winterization). Service charge for the first 30 minutes is $99.99, regardless of how simple the job is. Scottie spent about 15 minutes at our house but charged us for 30 minutes. I called to dispute it but he didn't budge. I regret not listening to the reviews..

I have hired Scottie's for a couple diff jobs now around my house. His son has come out for both. Done a GREAT job! Fast, friendly and fixed both problems. I would be quick to recommend them and or rehire.
