I would like to give this company zero stars if possible. They charge $99 after hour just to come out and diagnose problem. They, then, wanted to charge $318 to change a pipe, which would take about 20-45 minutes. When we asked the technician about the high price, he was not able to explain why. He said the market rate for a plumber is $200/hour. He even bragged about how he made $200k a year being a plumber. This company does not have work ethics. Stay away from them!

I was very disappointed with the technician's work. Only 2 burners of 3 would light up and so the furnace would not start automatically. The technician came and he just took the burners out and blew them and changed the valves and adjusted the gas pressure. He then proceeded to tell me that the motor was making a weird noise and was using more current that it should. He then told me that I would have to replace the induction assembly, valve, burners and flame sensor totaling $2577. He also quoted me $3500 for a new furnace and said i could put it on my credit card. I am glad i did not fall for that. On my best friend's suggestion I decided to get a second opinion and called AirNow Heating and Air Conditioning. The technician was amazing. He ran all the checks and said that the only problem was with my burner assembly which he ordered and replaced for $200. Furnace has been working like brand new again. I was very impressed with his troubleshooting skills because he completely washed the burner and then blew it with compressed air to ensure there was no problem there. The Scott Hale guy did not even do that. The diagnostic fee for airnow is higher than scott hale by $20, however it is definitely worth it. I would never recommend Scott Hale to any friend of mine.

The day before Christmas Eve my furnace went out. Granted it was old, the man who came out told me the part to fix it would cost $1400 alone. Then he told me that a new furnace at mid range efficiency would be $4700. I looked up on several sites the cost of the part he said needed replacing in which it said $150-$250. I called another company for a second opinion and he told me the exact same part would be $500-600 to replace including the part and labor. The technician from Scott hale was going to charge me more than double!!! I then decided to go with a new furnace with the new company in which they charged $2800 for the same efficiency furnace I was going to get with Scott hale. That is a $1900 difference. I am a single mom who doesn't know a lot about furnaces and I feel that I was being taken advantage of. I suggest calling someone else for your furnace needs. I know I will.

Called Scott Hale on a Saturday a few weeks ago when we woke up to a cold house and furnace that wouldn't light. Cory came out. Got here earlier than expected which was great. He was able to find the problem and get the pressure switch working again. Said it may hold or it could go out again. It did 2 weeks later. Cory came back and he replaced the switch. He did a great job. Didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need.

These guys put out a coupon in the Money Mailer that gets mailed to homes: $50 for an ""Ultimate Drain Clean with camera Inspection and Easy Access, Reg. $259.""
When my daughter called to get her liner cleaned, they refused to honor the coupon. They tried the classic Bait and Switch routine on her. I don't trust people who lie. If they aren't willing to honor their coupon, they shouldn't put it out.

The company was able to come by the next day but their bid to fix the problem was so expensive, $8000! I called someone else out and they did some problem solving and were able to get it fixed for $250. Wow.

Did not show up when they were supposed to. I waited around all day (1-5) just to be told it was going to be tomorrow. This is my week off, and I wanted to do something, but could not leave the house. I even saw them pass my house, but they did not stop. If they are not going to make when they say they will, then let someone know way before the end of the day. I even called them at 3:30 and they said that they were coming. Time is MOney!

Not impressed... Took a day off of work since they were not able to come on the weekend and waited half the day. They never arrived! After calling I was told that I was accidentally never put on the calendar. They were polite on the phone but I will never use their service again. How can I trust them to do a good job if they can't even show up for their appointments?

We had some leaks in furnace lines in our house. Hale HVAC came over and said that the entire house needs to be re piped instead of fixing each leak, and also suggested abandoning two old heaters and installing a new furnace with ductwork. The employees were nice and professional, but their recommendation seemed so absurd and absurdly expensive we decided to get TWO separate opinions. Hale's costs ranged from $4,000 (without tuning up heaters) to $14,000. They were ready to pressure us to commit on the spot. Both of the second opinions recommended fixing each leak, tuning up the heaters, and then analyzing the system for any other problems for between $500 and $1,000, and neither of them had ever heard of having to re-pipe the gas in a house. I'm sure Hale does sound work, but you're paying 10 times more than you would with a smaller operation to get the exact same functionality. I've heard from other HVAC employees that they charge about $300/hr for per person for labor. They are ridiculously expensive and present only the largest solutions. GET A SECOND OPINION!

We bought a Groupon for a Furnace Tune-Up. The guy came the same day (which seemed great!) but he was there for about 3 minutes and said that we didn't need a tune-up, but a completely new furnace. So we called another place for a second opinion, he came out, tuned-up our furnace and it is working like a gem. I'm disappointed that I paid for a tune-up and all I got was some lousy advice - thank goodness I'm only out $29 with them instead of the full price they were charging. I definitely won't be calling Scott Hale with future issues.
