Just had a technician at our home to service our heaters. I walked into our kitchen and the technician was standing at our kitchen island with one of my prescription bottles in his hand, looking at the bottle. I startled him and he put
Also, took the quote he gave me and got it quoted out for half the price at a competitor over the phone. Do yourself a favor and take their quotes and call a competitor with the exact list of what needs to be done. You'll save yourself some money.
And make sure to keep their technicians in sight so they don't rummage through your items.

Told me that 1. Heat Exhanger was cracked; 2. Needed a new furnace and that the cost would be $8000. A second opinion from another firm stated 1. Heat Exhanger was not cracked; 2. Furnace was operating perfectly and the cost was $65.00. And lastly, the second opinion firm spent far more time on the furnace than did Scott Hale. This was one month ago. Furnace has never worked better. If you use these folks, get a second opinion.

I'm ok with someone making a profit. But marking up parts 10 x's retail is a little much. I called to discuss the charge and was told ""Chris S."" would call me back and explain. I guess Chris was too busy selling $25 parts for $250 to senior citizens. You got our money this time but never again.
I see this scenario in other reviews. It must be their business model.

I hope my review brings about positive change. I needed an a/c repair and Scott Hale diagnosed a short in my system and advised the only way to repair it is to replace the entire circuit board. I knew my a/c and furnace will both probably need to be replaced in the next five years, so I asked what risk there would be in replacing just the circuit board. The tech proceeded to recommend replacing all three at the same time, which would be extremely expensive. He also cited many of my neighbors having new a/c's so I would need one as well.
I called a different company to get a second opinion. It took him ten minutes to identify a short in my system which was fixed by a simple fuse replacement. I hope Scott Hale learns from this experience and trains their techs both to understand the real issue but also not to try to run up a bill by recommending several major repairs/replacements. Needless to say I was very disappointed.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!! They replaced our stack and sewer line to the street. A piece of pipe was left in the sewer line leading to several floods of our basement. They scoped the pipe and determined the problem and commented that someone ""messed up"" when they did the original sewer line. After they realized it was their company that did the work they offered to send a flood remediation company. This company offered to rip out our drywall and base boards, but stated they could not repair the area afterwards and we would have to get a contractor or go through our insurance. Hale plumbing then tried to auger the pipe which failed. They then waited 3 weeks and tried again with a larger auger. We requested 3 times after this to have our plumbing repaired as they did the original work for over 15K. 3 weeks later and several phone calls and still not solution to our problem. I would not recommend them.

It has been over 100 days since Scott Hale first came to my home and my house/life still haven't been completely repaired. I requested a shut off valve in my home be replaced. They convinced me I had a leaking water main. After the replaced the water main the issue was still present. When a second plumber came out to replace the valve he stated when they replace a water main they are required to replace the valve too. Luckily for me they hadn't. My $200 job would became a $5000 job! (After reading on line this has happened to others.) We had a full day of rain and my house flooded because they didn't seal up the hole in the foundation where they put the water main through. While my house was tore apart from the flooding (carpet, hardwood, sheet rock) our house flooded again from them not connecting to the existing house plumbing correctly. They have started restoration but have used cheaper products than what we had (example: MDF vs wood baseboards). When Scott and Pam Hale we're still talking to me they kept griping about how much all this was going to cost them. Are you kidding me? I also found out after the fact the plumbers that came out either had no license or an expired apprentice license from 2016. I have missed over 2 weeks of work because of this too. Beware of Scott Hale Plumbing.

Before this happens to you, do your research. I had a plumbing emergency that unfortunately happened on a Saturday. I was doing laundry and noticed that my bathtub was filling up, which meant my sewer main line was backed up and clogged. When searching the web for a company that could come out and clear my line on a weekend, I remembered that I had Scott Hale Plumbing service my water heater last year with a coupon I received for a system flush. I also had them install an expansion tank. I called and spoke to someone in their dispatch. The man told me that he would have the technician call me to let me know when he would be at my house. He also informed me that the weekend service call rate was $99 just for him to show up and diagnose my issue (I already knew I just needed my main line cleared - I live in an older home). The tech (I don't remember his name, he was super nice - kind of looked like Grizzly Adams) immediately called me and told me he would be at my house within an hour and a half. When he showed up at my house and I showed him my issue, he said the main line does need to be cleared. I told him that I didn't have a quick access pipe and the last guy that cleared my line 4 years ago went through the main pipe from my roof. He said he isn't too agile and that he prefers to remove the toilet and get to the main line that way. He told me the cost for him to remove my toilet and clear my line was $597 without a camera inspection (he didn't have one anyway, but if I wanted one, it was an additional charge). My heart sank. I told him that was more than double what I paid 4 years ago (same issue I had previously, clogged main line and they also used a camera and cleared it from the roof access). I knew that price wasn't right but what choice did I have? It was a weekend. I was so disgusted, but I had to have my line cleared. The technician could tell I wasn't happy, and told me that he has to charge me that because he was told to charge me that. ALMOST $600 JUST TO UNSCREW 2 BOLTS AND LIFT A TOILET - PUT THE AUGER DOWN THE PIPE AND PUT THE TOILET BACK ON? While doing the job the technician told me that just to break even the company has to charge at least $300 an hour because of the overhead, advertising, etc. When he was done, the total amount I paid was $696 (don't forget the $99 charge just for coming out). I decided to call other companies to see what they would have charged for the same work on a weekend. Let's just say that Scott Hale Plumbing was more than DOUBLE the price. I seriously feel sick to my stomach. I didn't really have $700 to just throw away. I feel like I was taken advantage of, so please, do yourself a favor and do some research. I suggest you call around and make a list of reputable service providers and get approximate rates so when you do have an emergency like I did, you will already know who to call and what to expect. I wish I would have done that. I will never use this company again, nor will I recommend them to my clients or other agents. Just as a side note, after the technician left, my toilet was leaking from where he attached the water line to the tank - I didn't notice until I had a big puddle on my bathroom floor the next day. The only thing positive that I can say was they showed up quickly and the technician was nice.

Good service .... VERY Overpriced!!!
Nice and seemed to be very knowledgeable. I feel they took advantage of the dire need for cooling and charged several thousands more than I should have. I did investigation after and sure enough spent easily over 2k more than other places for the exact same unit. I also had a sewer cleanout and since I had a free cleanout from them I used them and they tried to upsell the exact same way as my cooling.

Tyler the technician totally ripped my mom off. He never gave a tune up 11/1. Only tried to scare her that the furnace was going out and needed a 1100 dollar replacement. A second opinion said that that was totally false. Furnace was just fine. What a total rip off!! She spent for the tune up and it didn't happen! Scare tactic!

Update on problem water heater; I spoke with Scott Hale concerning the problem water heater. He addressed my problem, understood my point of view. We came to an amicable solution. I appreciate the fact that he listened and was willing to work with me.
I am giving the company 3 stars because I had a problem with the installation and trying to get it repaired was a problem. Scott was very helpful, but I shouldn't have had to go that far up the ladder to get my problem addressed.
