I called him at 8:30 this morning with a problem and he answered my call when I called, even though he was already with a client., and said he would call right back. Guess what? He did!! He gave me a time frame for his arrival and he arrived right on schedule. He took care of the problem in a timely manner for an affordable fee. Wonderful Service. I just bought a home in old Salinas and had a bathroom backup problem. Scott came right over, diagnosed the problem and was able to fix it swiftly. Here are my details...

I called today, the date of this review, at 7:50AM. Scott answers the phone, and we schedule an appointment for the same day between 1:00PM - 3:00PM.
Scott calls at 1:17PM to say he's on his way, and to confirm the address.
A few minutes later, he arrives, and within 15 minutes unclogs our kitchen sink drain.

He joked with me about how much he thought I already spent on Liquid Plumber.
Very funny, Scott, very funny.

So, what caused the drain clog?
Let's just say my wife will be washing her hair somewhere else from now on.

With reserved enthusiasm, let me start by saying that Scott Grider is THE MAN!!!!

We had a pin hole leak in our copper pipe above the water heater near the water circulator. The root cause of the leak was because the original plumber did not deburr the inside of the pipes (internal pipe burrs cause eddy currents inside the pipe which erode away the pipe).

A typical first indication is a pin hole leak in the pipe. If you are fortunate, it will not be in the wall!!!!!

In either case, Scott arrived promptly, triaged the situation, recommended a course of action, and repaired the piping. After my discussion with him, I also decided to remove the hot water circulator to reduce the future potential problems.

With a fast repair complete, bonus news was the PRICE!!!!! Great price. I had to give him more to be able to look myself in the mirror after the great service, expert skill, and ""Water-Heater Side Manner"" (analogous to a doctor's bed side manner).

Scott, thank you for everything.

I just had Scott Grider out to my house to fix a clogged line. I tried to snake it myself. It ended up being a 2 x 4 stuck in an elbow of the line that the original plumber who put in the pipe in the wall dropped in there and didn't fish out. That jerk, who I got off of craigslist also worked for half a day then asked for several hundred dollars in advance for materials, said he was going to get them, and never came back. Then I learned he lied about being a licensed contractor. Compare that with Scott Grider, who fixed an extremely messy and difficult problem in a couple of hours and is a licensed contractor. I watched the whole thing. He has something like 30 years of experience and knew exactly what to do in each step. I highly recommend him.

Scott Grider = Best Plumber on the Monterey Peninsula.

I have tried many plumbers over the years and none come close to Scott. He is very skilled, competent, a professional and a gentleman. I hired Scott, most recently, for a bear of a job. He needed to find a leak between my upstairs and downstairs, locate it, then repair it while doing as little digging into the dry wall as possible. I was very concerned that this job could be very difficult to the point of requiring a general contracting and even having to replace our entire shower.

Have no fear, Scott is here! Scott had a very well thought out approach to identifying the leak by starting with two specific places behind out shower heads, upstairs, then proceeding to the location of the leak, downstairs. Within 1/2 hour, he found the leak and within three hours he had the leak repaired, better than new, and our house restored.

I will definitely call Scott now when I need plumbing help. He is very busy, for good reason, so you should call him to get an appointment for help with your plumbing needs as quickly as possible. I highly recommend Scott for any plumbing needs and very much admire his personal commitment to doing the job right, providing high value to his clients and respecting the home of his clients' too. Scott is my new hero! My bathroom sink plugged up and then a few days later (on a Saturday) my kitchen sink became hopelessly clogged. I did everything to try clear them myself with plungers and a snake, but late in the day I knew I was in over my head. I thought a plumber would be horribly expensive, especially on a weekend, but I took a chance after reviewing the Yelp comments. Scott came over right away, and in less than an hour my plumbing was fixed! He explained to me what the problems were and how he fixed them, and the very best part, his service was very reasonably priced, (even for a weekend.) I couldn't have been more pleased and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone. I will definitely call on him again if I have more plumbing problems.

Called Scott Grinder because of all the great comments and high ratings. I have used other plumbing companies in the past and it always ended up being a huge project and along with high cost. I usually trust most comments on Yelp but take some with a grain of salt. It is more often that someone will post a poor comment because they are not satisfied then when someone is satisfied. Everyone was very happy with Scott Grinder.
He gave me a two hour window for the appointment and he was a few minutes early. He quickly identified my issue with my slow draining and leaking kitchen drains. He snaked the drain and replaced all of old nasty parts in a very timely manner. I don't think I could buy the parts for the price he charged. His labor charge is very reasonable. He is very profession and personable. He will surely get my business again and I will recommend him to all my friends and neighbors. I am very happy with Scott Grinder Plumbing.
