have not had a bad experience yet and when i ran into troubles schwanger bros came to the rescue time and time again until the problem was fixed. defiantly worth the time and money and they will have my buisness in the future for all my plumbing and hvac needs. i highly recommend checking them out!!! also they were nice enough to replace some duct work for my central air unit free of charge just for paying my bills on time and im full. cant say i know any companies or people doing that

Our AC died Saturday July 4th..yikes and it was between 92-94 degrees.
I sent an email and also called first thing Monday morning. As always they are the most friendliest staff ever. They gave us a turn around time by Tuesday, realizing that they had 5 calls for AC problems and we just had a holiday. To our joy, a service person arrived and with COVID-19 he was wearing appropriate gear of a mask and for cleanliness he wore shoe covers. He asked what the problem was and started to work on a solution. He was very thorough and knowledgeable.
Thank you sir and Thank you Schwanger Brothers. You have served us many years and we continue to be grateful. Thank you for your great service and friendly staff.

Schwanger Brothers is the best heating and air conditioning service around. After trying several local companies to service our AC and heat, we were blessed to find Schwanger Bros. They were professional and did not stop until they found the issue and addressed it. After multiple companies were unable to find the issue, Schwanger Bros. not only found the issue, they fixed it, and we are now customers for life. We have the AC/Heating annual service and will continue with them as our peace of mind.

Although we do not use propane or oil, we would definitely choose them for all of our heating and cooling needs. Their customer service is phenomenal and works to make any customer satisfied.

I recently had a phone conversation with one of the employee's there whom shall remain nameless. However, if the person to whom I am referring reads this, there is no doubt that that person will recognize their self and recall the conversation!
I called because I had run out of propane which has never happened before and was very surprised because I have just filled my 500 gallon tank in December, so figured that there may be a leak somewhere, probably at my outside gas grill. However, I wanted to make sure that was the problem and wanted a company to do a pressure test, relight pilots, etc. The company I typically buy propane from does not service anything except a pressure test from the tank to the first regulator. I explained that to the person I was talking to and to my surprise the person responded to me "" so you buy propane from them but you want US to service it?"" This was said with a sarcastic tone in their voice as well. To say the least, I was shocked with the attitude and asked them if they ever shopped for the best prices for anything! The person did not seem to think they said anything wrong and I promptly ended the call after explaining I would take my business elsewhere! The person did nothing to apologize for their attitude and hung up. Ironically, the price I was quoted from this person was only 5 cents more than the company I usually buy from, so I probably would have had Schwanger's fill the tank at the same time they provided the service..........
I happen to be in the real estate business and often refer business to various trades when a home needs repaired or a new owner is unfamiliar with the Lancaster County area and needs service or maintenance ideas for contractors I would recommend. My team settled 81 homes last year and I would estimate 50% of those homes had oil or propane heat. This year already is busier than last year, so this particular phone call had a potential of producing 40 to 50 referrals to this company. These days, this kind of customer service just astounds me. I am also going to compose a letter to David Schwanger just in case he doesn't read Yelp reviews. As the president of this company, I would hope he would value this feedback.

Beware!! There is a much better company located in Ephrata, pa. They charge much less and provide much better service. Schwanger bros. Is the worst company I've ever worked with. Never on time and charged me twice for someone doing a leak check/lighting the pilot because their tech didn't know how to. I would not recommend them to anyone. Don't let them fool you. Wolves in sheep's clothing. Very unhappy soon to be former customer. 0 stars is my choice, but it wouldnt allow me to choose 0.

BEWARE, if you are having them do repair work for you, you MUST request a ""not to exceed."" I learned this after being informed that my bill would be about $200-$300, and then receiving a call after the fact that it was nearly $700. They told me that in the future I need to request a ""not to exceed,"" then they would call me if it was going to exceed this amount. This is something that would have been nice to know in advance. I would look somewhere else for a service company with more fair business practices.

Looking for a good affordable plumber. This guy does very good work. But at a price. What was explained as a two hundred and fifty dollar job was done, in two and a half hours, for six hundred. Over five hundred for labor. Looks like I'm in the wrong line of business at that hourly rate.

After going through 3 other plumbers to just get some info, I was pleasantly surprised when Schwanger Bros. 1.) emailed me back almost immediately with my initial question answered 2.) schedule the service appointment for the next day 3.) finished the job in 30 minutes, even though they estimated 2 hours and finally 4.) just charged me for the time that they were there. Nice job guys...keep up the good work.
