It's hard to find a decent plumber that acts professional. I live in a nice quiet neighborhood off of Lake dr. and the plumber they sent to my house yelled at my neighbor for having her dog off leash, which was on accident. Then he drove off like a bat out of hell with kids everywhere.

He did an adequate install of a water heater, but I won't call them again.

We had a minor leak from the base of our toilet. We found Schoofs on Yelp and, based upon the 5-star reviews, we gave them a call. Paul arrived on time and quickly repaired our toilet. Because it took less than 15 minutes, he contacted his manager and was authorized to waive the 1-hour minimum work charge. We greatly appreciate his efforts and highly recommend Schoofs.

My mom called me today and told me she needed a plumber to fix her water heater. She asked if I knew of a decent plumber. Not knowing of one off hand, I came here to yelp for help. Ha- that rhymes. Anyway, Schoofs seemed the best bet and I gave her the number. Hoping for the best, I waited to hear if she could get a same-day appointment and if so, how it went. Thankfully it turned out VERY well. Mr. Schoofs himself came out and took care of the problem. The price was very reasonable and he was very professional. My mom was very happy with the results and even asked me to come here onto yelp to give a raving review. (She doesn't get online much). My parents have had bad experiences with other plumbing companies, so it was great to see her so satisfied with Schoofs. I'd definitely recommend them!

It's hard to find a good plumber. We were looking to do a bathroom remodel as well as replace some piping and the water heater, so we had a good-sized job that needed a skilled plumber. We had so many local companies lined up to come in and provide us with quotes and they were either too high, way too low, or they were no-shows and full of excuses... except for Kevin at Schoofs. Kevin was on-time, did a quick walk-through of what we were looking for, and provided us with a reasonable quote. Within a week Kevin sent his employee - Paul - over. Not only was Paul super trustworthy and honest, he did a fabulous job. He worked all day each day and made sure that everything he set up was exactly what we were looking for.

Now I wouldn't say that Schoofs is the cheapest plumber in town, but their prices are reasonable. The team works hard and goes above and beyond what is needed. They provide good guidance and honest feedback. If you prefer service and reliability, then go with Schoofs.

I would (and have) recommend Schoofs to anyone. I know that we'll keep them as our #1 go-to plumbers.

I had a very good experience with Schoofs Plumbing. We called and the next day, Kevin came out and gave us an estimate. We thought it over for a couple days and had some other companies check it out also. They were reasonably priced and could get it done quickly. I had a cracked sewer main that just happened to be under my foundation.

The plumber that came had a hell of a time getting under my foundation from inside the house but they did it which saved me a ton of money. The job took two days but everything was done as expected and in the time frame that they quoted. He even ran a temporary line overnight so we could use our plumbing.

I would use them again!

My mother's 1960's duplex needed some substantial plumbing work including replacement of a lot of galvanized supply lines. Her usual plumber gave her a price of more than $4,500. At that point we needed to get some competitive pricing. Based on positive Yelp reviews, we invited Schoofs to inspect the house (along with three other plumbers) and provide a quote. Schoofs had the best price of the group. As well, Kevin was the most responsive and we felt his team would do a good job. We selected Schoofs to complete the project. They finished on-time and on-budget. Hopefully we won't have another four-figure plumbing project anytime soon, but we won't hesitate to call them again.

I had need for some emergency plumbing, I called in the middle of the night (3am) and left a message, they called me back by 7am and had someone at my house by 9am.

They were very professional and polite. They put down tarps and were very careful about my carpet. All the work they did they cleaned up completely and you could not even tell that they were there except for the work they had done (new pipes etc). They actually charged me LESS than their quote and were at my house longer than they said they would be because they also went above and beyond and changed the rusted drain fixture in my tub and gave me a new one and that wasn't even part of the quote!

I will definately use this company again should I ever need plumbing done. Do not hesitate to call, they are a fantastic company!

I called Kevin Schoof based on the reviews here on Yelp, for a fairly involved plumbing reconfiguration / upgrade in my complicated, 85 year old house.
He came out, looked at the situation and my wish list and gave me a price that was competitive but more than I wanted to invest. He then spent quite some time to work with me to find alternatives, and I ended up getting 95% of what I originally planned for at 2/3 of the cost. The project involved installing a grey water crock and floor drain in the cement floor, adding a lift pump, tying into ancient drain pipes, rerouting vents, disconnecting a sump drain, removing lots of steel pipes, and hooking up a sink, laundry tub and washing machine in a new laundry area.

On the day prior to the project start, he came out to go over the details again and the next morning showed up punctually. He also accommodated my various requests along the way how to place/route things and only charged extremely fair prices for the additional work I asked for to be done during the week he and his team were on site. He or his men arrived each day exactly at the agreed time, and worked late / weekends to get the work done.

The impression I got from Kevin and his crew was of great professionalism, they did not cut corners and did not make a mess, despite all the rusty pipes and concrete debris involved. In addition, he communicated very well along the way, he will call you back and answer your questions. Everything went smoothly, on schedule and on budget. The inspectors liked the work too.

In fact, I already asked Kevin for a price on the next phase of my never-ending project, replacing half of the house's plumbing. I think I can now tackle this in good confidence that it will be done well and affordably.
Schoof's is the best contractor I have ever worked with, if you need a plumber, I would strongly encourage you to call them first.

I had a tankless hot water heater installed by a competitor last year (2010). I had a problem with the water heater and called the competitor only to find out that they went out of business. The franchised company had no other franchisees in the area to help. So I called the manufacturer for warranty service. They recommended Schoofs.

Kevin from Schoofs came out the next day (the problem started on a Sunday). He spent nearly the entire day at our house on the phone with the manufacturer trying to trouble shoot the problem. All this on a unit that he didn't install.

Because of the nature of Tankless Heaters, replacement parts are not stocked locally with anyone. The manufacturer determined that there was a 'high probability' of a particular part. They sent that part to Schoofs who came back the next day to install the part. Unfortunately the manufacturer mis-diagnosed the problem. I still had no hot water. But there is no way that I would fault Schoofs for that. The manufacturer decided to send all of the other parts that may have been to fault. But some of them were not readily available for next day shipping.

Kevin from Schoofs had seen my wife given my son a shower outside with the garden hose and took matters into his own hands. He brought used tanked water heater from his shop and hooked it up so that we had hot water. This was clearly above and beyond what I would have expected from a plumbing company who came to my house for a warranty call on a product that they didn't install. I am so thankful for that as it took almost a week for the replacement parts to show up. Being without hot water for a week would have been painful.

Kevin was a professional who went above and beyond what I could have expected. The next time that I need a plumber, he will be the one that I call.
