Have used this company many times at numerous locations. Always had good work done at a higher than normal cost, but they were very professional and do good work, so I paid for what I got. This time was the last straw. Had a new water softener installed. Took 2 guys one hour to install. Never got a bill until I get a nasty letter with a past due notice. They charged me double the actual labor. I paid it over the phone, then told them the hours were wrong. I didn't ask for a discount because I wanted the right to share this experience. See ""past due"" notice along with a text I sent a buddy after it was done.

Came recommended from an ex-employee, Saturday call, the plumber that called me back 1.5 hours later didn't seem like he wanted to stop by. Called someone else.

I have been using Schomers for a few years now, The first was a few years ago when we had sub zero temps. My pipes froze, I called my regular plumber and was told by the secretary that it was 30 below zero and they weren't doing any service calls. I took a shot at Schomers and they were over with in an hour. Been using them since. This week I had a pipe leading to the septic tank that needed to be replaced. Carrie and company did an outstanding job. I will keep using them and I highly recommend them.

Absolutely livid!!! Had an appointment with Schomer's Plumbing and because I did not pick up the phone when he called (called back with in 5 min) they refused to come. I was told they could not authorize overtime! My appointment was at 3 he did not call until 320. I will never use this company. Be aware, if you schedule an appointment with them do not go to the bathroom until they arrive.

Having used a local Heating/Air Conditioning business for over 10 years, when the a/c quit working, there was a service call left in my contract so I called them, but it still cost over $250.00. This was after I had already paid for the service call.Person added refrigerant and said that a new unit was probably in our future. Couldn't promised the coils wouldn't leak and if it did , that would be the time to replace for $4,000-$4,600. Two weeks later, a/c quit working and I called the first company to see if there were any other options, No. Didn't even come out and verify that leaking was the issue. Okay, so I call and set up two companies for estimates. Tried to explain what had happened and that I didn't actually have $4,000 at this time. So the second company comes out and insists that the leak is in the inside coils and it would be $936.00 to put in new coils (after he said that the maker of the system didn't make very good coils why would I put more of the same back in?) He would guarantee it was the inside coils. He could order it and put it in on Friday. I said I needed to think it over---I was having another company come the next day.
Schomers tech came and looked at the inside unit and then spent 20 + minutes outside at that part of the system. (We laughed because he was gone so long but his truck was still here).. So then he came inside and started checking the temperatures and tell us what he had done--Replaced a switch that signals the outside unit to turn on . It was just going to cost for the part and the service call, probably $150. or less. John Caplinger was very patient with me and made a big impression on us with his information and suggestions. He said that the units should last for another 5-8 years. if not longer! He even checked the refrigerant and said it was fine. So they will now have our business. They don't do service contracts, but explained their charges and it cost us less money. In other words the contract thing ended up and cost me much more than if I had called them in the first place!!!!!
They have gained a loyal customer who will call them for any plumbing and heating issues.

Guys did good work charged fairly for parts. Labor charged for amount of work done was outrageous!!! Shop around, there are tons of plumbers in Lafayette.. I simply screwed up! When i complained they wouldnt work with me at all, and were very rude.

Our kitchen sink with a disposal wouldn't drain. Standing water was left in the sink if we let the water run more than 20 seconds. So we called Schomers Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning who came and cleaned out the drain and pipe and told us we were good to go. A short time later the problem returned. During a second service call (we were charged again) we were told the problem was our dish-washing machine. We replaced the machine (approximately $600) and the problem returned again a short time later. They came out again and charged us a service fee again and it seemed to fix the problem for a few months. We hardly put any food in our disposal because we didn't want the problem to return.

Now the problem has returned again. When I explained to the receptionist today I didn't expect to have to pay for another service call she told me she couldn't guarantee that; it would depend on what the technician found. I said this is the fourth time I've had to call about the same problem, I replaced a perfectly good dish-washer and you can't tell me I'm not going to be charged. She said yes. I told her if that was the case then I was going to use a different company and let everyone know about their disappointing service. She said that's fine and then hung up on me. I definitely will not use Schomers again, and I encourage you to do the same.
