I'm a 77yr disabled veteran and my a/c went out over the weekend and i called this company on monday and she said she would have a tech here on tues at 3pm - he arrived on time and went out and checked the unit - he said i needed a capacitor and he thought he had one on the truck - he came back in 5 min later and put it on and turned the unit back on and checked the temp of the vents and it was working great - he was finished in about 45 mins- he came back with a bill of 394.00 - i told him it was mighty high but he said that was the cost of the part - i have checked all over town and the capacitor he listed is from 18.50 thru 68.50 -- i called both offices to complain but got no help from the guy name Jeff at the 816-431-4098-
the part as listed on the bill was a allied -Armstrong dual capacitor -# cf-002-021870-0032- and the cost was listed as 299.00-all capacitor - i also called the local Grainger and they said the 18.00- 68.00- these people are rip off company

I called Schomburg for an estimate. They were thousands of dollars higher than anyone else. After being told no they keep calling and harassing me. Do not call them, you will be sorry.

Schomburg Heating & Cooling is our ""go to"" HVAC service company. They did the orginal installation of our split HVAC system over two decades ago and have reliably serviced the system ever since. Recently had Schomburg upgrade our two furnaces and they did an outstanding job. We highly recommend them for all of your HVAC needs!

I called this business because I was looking for a plumber, which is what I told the guy who answered the phone. He then asked what I needed done. I told him, and he said they didn't do plumbing. A helpful customer service suggestion here is to maybe not have plumbing on your website if you
do not, in fact, do plumbing. The guy who answered the phone was really nice, though.

Do NOT go with this contractor!! Knew I should have went with Bob's. This contractor will take advantage of the situation. Their labor rate is outragous. Charged me at least $250 in labor for a 10 minute job. Had them over to find the problem of our air not blowing cold. I was told it was the outside dual capacitator that needed to be replaced. I was told it would be a 10 minute job, turned out to take them about 1.5 hours. They stood outside for over 30 minutes with a water hose to ""cool"" down the unit that had not been running for more than 10 minutes. I had shut the air off when we realised it was not working and stayed with her parents for the night before. They showed up around 4:15 pm the next day. My wife had to get my father-in-law over for them to finally finish their work. She was inside and told me they were staying until after 5pm to collect OT. My bill was a total of $440.91, with a service fee of $95, and charge of $345.91 to replace the part. I called their office and was told that the part, taxes, and labor was in this $345.91 total. The part is around $12 and taxes couldn't have been over $50. Apparently labor is $200 as I could not get a straight answer for their labor rate. Again, do not do business with them unless you want to be hustled.

Found Schomburg thru NextDoor recommendation--so thankful! We had other companies give quotes to fix the leaking boiler for our radiators, but Rob from Schomburg impressed us because he knew how everything worked. He serviced the radiators too--we will be toasty when it gets cold again! Excellent job.

I was charged $431.76 to have 2lbs of R-22 Freon added to my A.C. unit outside. That is it. $91.00 was for diagnostic and travel fee. I can understand that charge. Most companies charge a fee to come to your home. I emailed to have a breakdown of the other charge ($340.76),Their hourly rate, the cost of the R-22 Freon per lb, and when did the hourly rate start. I was told that $340.76 is their flat fee rate for charging A.C. unit. I replied to that email and asked if I can have a breakdown of the flat fee rate. I received a call from the service tech trying to explain their flat rate pricing. He said they can't give me a breakdown because of tax reasons. He did say they charge about $100 a lb for R-22 Freon. So, going off of that $91+$200(2 lbs of Freon)= $291. That means I was charged $140.76 for labor and taxes I guessing because I have no breakdown of flat rate price. That is very high for this service. Lesson learned. Heads up you will pay a lot for this company services.

Called to put home on biannual hvac maintenance contract; showed up, proper equipment, pro van, uniform; tech knew exactly what he was doing. Great job performed.

They guys at Schomburg helped get my hot water heater back working even though this wasn't exactly their favorite thing to do. I really liked that they scheduled the appointment for me one day ahead of time, arrived exactly on time and took less time than they thought it would take. My service man took care to keep everything clean, and not talk too much. I really just want people to work, and that's what he did.
