We just received an estimate from this company. First of all, the estimate cost $89.00. The estimate for 5 hours of work was $1,600.00. The job was running 40 ft of gas line. That's $320.00 per hour. Ridiculous! Needless to say, we would never recommend this company.

Had Schneller out for AC service last Saturday. Tech (Tyler Hand) told us that our unit was 11 years old and needed replacing. While there, he allegedly sprayed our filter (he didn't or did a terrible job) and did add R22 refrigerant. Cost about $500. Price to find a leak would be $169-$400, and if it was found in the interior coil, it'd be $2000 more. Then we confirmed independently via serial number that our unit is only 5 years old. I wonder if either the tech didn't know his stuff (troubling) or if he purposely misled (lied to) us to get a sale of a new AC. Either way, I won't be doing any business with Schneller in the future...and if you are wise, you'll seek service elsewhere, too.

This company is a joke. We had used them to install our tankless water heater less than 2 years ago. A couple nights ago, I noticed there was no hot water in the shower and upon further inspection I saw the water heater was leaking. I called Schneller to come out and check the water heater and they were out a few days later. The rep told me the parts were still under warranty, but of course, the labor warranty wasn't valid any longer. When asked for a quote they told me it would be a minimum of $975 labor and probably more. I told them to hold off and did a little research online. The entire tankless water heater was listed online for $1200 and could be installed for around $2000 total. The service tech had to leave my residence to try and find blueprints to take apart the machine because he wasn't familiar with them (that should of been my first sign to run). I called another certified plumbing and installation company who came out for a quote that same day. All in all, it only ended up costing me $250 to get it fixed. Beware of this company, they might due quality work, but they are definitely trying to take advantage of people by charging outrageous labor fees. It took less than 3 hours to fix, and I don't know too many plumbers who charge over $250 an hour for labor. PLEASE DO NOT USE SCHNELLER!

I recently called this company for a quote on some shower plumbing I need repaired. The woman who answered explained they could not give out a quote on the phone. I accepted this response, although several other plumbers have been able to since it is a straightforward repair and we only need their price. She said they could come out to the house to take a look within a week and that it would cost $90 for the service call, and they could show-up to do the work that day unless they needed to order anything. I quickly hung-up. I did not experience their actual work, but find it absurd to pay $90 for them to tell me how much l have to pay for service. With so much competition in the plumbing arena, I HIGHLY suggest you keep looking, as I have found free estimates to be commonplace.

I had scheduled these guys to come out and unclog a toilet and tub. I found an Angie's list coupon for $80 and once I told them about it they shut me down and said they can't do any work for me.

This company lies to their customers and I would highly suggest you think twice before making the call to have them help you with any needs you might have.

This letter outlines why I cannot recommend Schneller...

Maintenance Agreement - Lost My Check
I purchased a new PMA last March. I was given a buy-one-year, get-one-year-free deal in order to keep me from going back to the company I used previously. When I stopped by the office in May to ask why my check had not been cashed, I was told that the check ""must have gotten lost"" - so I wrote a new one and gave it to the clerk. I asked at that time whether the system showed that there was a 2-year agreement and she confirmed that there was.

Air Conditioner Broke
After last spring's ""tune up"" my air conditioner stopped working when I tried to use it. I called the office and was told that since the unit was under warrantee, I should contact Anderson Automatic. Unfortunately, it was Schneller's technician that blew the fuses (which were not covered) due to the way he connected the capacitor he installed - but I paid the $117 for the repair.

Doing Me A ""Favor""
Now I am trying to schedule a spring tune up and I am being told that I don't have a contract on file. I sent copies of the paperwork to the Service Manager and Owner. Didn't get any response until I called them a week later (even though I had gotten back a read response from my email). I was told that they don't do 2-for-1's, but they will give it to me anyway - even though I sent documentation. I only have to wait 2 months....

Our house had a seized water valve, so we had no water until it is replaced. We called Schneller because of all the great reviews online.

However, the first time the technician came out, he did the installation incorrectly, and the water company could not turn the water back on. The technician blamed the water company for being picky.

We were desperate to get the water back on, so we paid the technician to come out a second time. This time, the technician installed a valve with the wrong size, and the water company again could not turn the water back on.

We wasted nearly $380 with this company ($229 for the first visit and $150 for the second). Whether they are incompetent or careless, I am not sure. I am sure though that this is not a company that I would ever recommend for plumbing services.

I always ask for Rick Hubbard of Schneller Heating to service our boiler. He is the ultimate professional. He is extremely competent, knowledgeable and thorough. He did our annual service call today. I couldn't be more pleased with Rick and this company. I recommend them unconditionally.

( I came to this site to place a review because I don't think going to www.reviewbuzz.com provides a clear explanation on how to accomplish one. )
Rick and Kenny were at my home today and, as usual, I received the reliable, high quality, friendly Knochelmann family heating system tuneup service I have always enjoyed since I bought my home in 1999.
Unfortunately, I had to rely on other HVAC ""experts"" for a time and was genuinely relieved when I received a card in the mail to find that the Knochelmann family was back to serve. Call it Schneller, call it whatever, as long as the K brothers are in charge, I know I'm well-covered for all my heating, air conditioning and plumbing requirements.
Rick and Kenny, or one of the other impressively trained technicians, will be back in 2 weeks to perform an AC tuneup and I'm confident they'll ensure a comfortable summer.

They came out charge me $89 to tell me what I already knew and then tried to get me to put in a new hot water heater that you can buy at HD for 409.00 but charge me $1,800 what a joke and waste of $89 bucks don't make the same mistake.
