Had a leaky toilet, ran by itself between flushes. Guy from Schneider came out, said it wasn't the flapper (which would be the usual cause), but the whole flush mechanism needed replacing, The cost of disassembling and reassembling the toilet plus parts would be almost as much as replacing the toilet, so I should replace the toilet. No charge for the estimate.
Guy from Pro Plumbers came next, said it was definitely the flapper, replaced it on the spot, verified no leaking. After a month, still no leaks

I won't usually write a review of a business that I havent hired but I just don't understand this business. I've called for work 5 times over the past 1.5 years and EVERY SINGLE TIME I get the same exact response, ""I'm totally booked and can't take care of that"". One time I had even mentioned having no problem waiting 2 or 3 months as it was a plumbing overhaul and not an emergency... I was told he wasn't booking/scheduling that far out. If you're not booking that far out how are you booked solid every single time I've called. I feel like unless you've been a customer with him for 10 years there is no chance of getting them to take on your job. He really needs to put his yelp page into hold or something so it stops showing up unless he is actually willing to take a job.

Mike was terrific. I called him Sunday morning for a problem that had occurred in the past. I did not expect a call back until Monday but he came in Sunday to honor the warranty. The last time he came he found the problem when several other plumbers were not able to find it.

Mike is great at what he does. He is punctual, professional, friendly and informative. He is very popular, so plan on booking a week or so in advance if possible. We had him come on a Wednesday morning to install a new sink in our bathroom. He also cleaned out our drain very thoroughly and ensured that everything was satisfactory before calling his work complete. His price for our work was $190 and includes a 1-year warranty on the workmanship, so he stands by his effort. Hopefully we won't need him again anytime soon, but if we do need a plumber he is our go-to now.

I was visiting old friends near Torrance CA when my hostess suddenly remarked "" There is a musty smell coming from under the kitchen sink."" We all peered in to see what was going on , and once we removed all the bottles of detergent, dishwasher supplies etc. it became apparent that water was dripping out from the junction between a brass waste pipe and an ABS waste pipe. . She immediately called up Mike Schneider plumbing, and by amazing luck Mike had just finished a job in the immediate vicinity and was less than 10 minutes away. Indeed, in less than ten minutes Mike Schneider was there on the doorstep carrying an impressive array of tools. I was impressed that he put on paper booties as he came in the door, so that he could not possibly leave any footmarks. Mike quickly diagnosed that an ABS pipe had split from being over-tightened against a brass pipe. The solution was to replace the ABS pipe which had about 5 sections to it and had some elaborate twists and turns. He went back into his van and came back about ten minutes later with an exact reproduction of the faulty pipe. He screwed it in, and in an elapsed time of no more than 20 minutes everything was fixed, and the kitchen was back on the air. I sure wish that we had a plumber like this in Northern Illinois!

I tried two different plumbers with discount offers for a stopped up bathroom tub. The first snaked the tub. It did not work and he then suggested a $650 solution. The second tried with no results and offered a $2,500 solution. After reading the reviews of Mike many of which had been through the multiple plumber experience I've been through I called Mile. He explained this may not work and what the issues may be. After 20 minutes Mike let me know the water is flowing. Mike has perfect ratings for one reason. He's honest, reliable and reasonable. He's my go to plumber now and I will recommend him to anyone who needs a plumber.

Mike is seriously the best! We had a clogged garbage disposal and he gave me an accurate quote over the phone. He arrived right on time, fixed the problem and even showed me how to fix it if it happens again. I was so blown away with his professionalism and kindness! I had a leaky shower head... drip, drip, drip. Called Mike and arranged for an appointment the next day. He showed up exactly on time and was right about the problem being the gasket... worn out and calcified after 14 years. Changed the worn part, reassembled control, caulked and no more leak!

I'd use him again - 5 Star.
