Totally incompetent quoted me a price of 1000.00 to replace the water heater .Tech forgot pump to empty the water heat said he forgot it at the shop.Then he couldn't put the water heater in the space where it fit by himself.Stated he had to reconfigure the pipes then broke one of the pipes .They sent another tech to help.after 4 hours they finally had it installed for a cost of over $1200.00. Last heater installed by 1 person in 2 hours.After complaining she said I should have charged you more for 2 Techs.TOTALLY incompetent.Debbie the office staff was very rude.

They did plumbing for my elderly mother and way overcharged for what they did. They also left the sump pit without a cover which is very dangerous. When she called the office lady was rude to her. Would never recommend to anyone.

In December 2018, We had a underground water line break outside of our house that was flooding the inside of our house. We called Schmitt Plumbing and they arrived within 30 mins, and started working. I was so impressed with the work they did for us, the job was very difficult due to the way our waterlines were ran by another local Plumber. Schmitt's never gave up, they said they would keep working and digging until they could find the breaks and get them fix and get us running water again. And they stuck to there word 9:30 pm. We were so HAPPY Schmitt's worked over 12 hours at our home in the freezing sleeting cold weather, and when we received the bill we were very surprised and releaved with what we felt was such a fair/reasonable price we were charged. When the men came inside of our home to work, they always took off their boots or used boot covers. I will defiantly be calling Schmitt's for any future plumbing needs.

This is by far the worst plumbing and heating business in the Sauk valley area. Stay away if you don't want ripped off.
I called them to open up a clogged drain. The service man can sat in the yard and talked on cell phone then left returning the following Monday and after 3 hours got the drain unclogged.
Weeks later received a bill for $449.00 to open the drain. I called and questioned the bill and the office clerk stated the bill was correct.
Now they have taken it to small claims. This is not the kind of business I will refer anyone to or recommend ever again.

Great service, family company. Fixed my furnace to better than new when others said it needed to be replaced! Seems to use quality parts, but doesn't make a job bigger or more expensive than needs to be. All employees seem to be friendly, hard working and have much experience.

Worked around our schedule to arrange for repairs. Brandon arrived as arranged and went right to work. No going for parts or tools. Made required repairs and was very courteous and professional. Even did a great job of cleaning up. Schmitt plumbing is very busy and there is a reason for this...their good.

Let me explain, 1st the workmanship was good. But, Debbie, who answers the phone is very brash, when I questioned her on the the extra hour rate on our bill she became irate. She says they way the do business is to charge customer's from the moment the truck leaves the shop until they arrive back. Our person showed up at 9 left at 11:30 and we got billed for 3.5 hours. Anyone else see a problem with this? When I called to question the extra hour, she became super defensive, raising her voice at me.

You know what, I can get plumbing service without so much yelling somewhere else.

Who's the woman answering the phone? Need someone new, not so harsh. Friendlier. I wouldn't even call back because of that.
