Terrible service - do not answer the phone ever despite numerous calls and waiting many weeks just to schedule a service

We had an unfortunate occurrence on Friday night, April 19, 2024. I water detector we had purchased for our basement and place near the hot water heater began to go off at 3 am, waking my wife and I out of a sound sleep. Once we figured out what it was (our hot water heater which had been installed in 2004 was leaking). Now the water heater was still stable but we had no idea for how long that might last ( we had visions of a flooded basement with the water still streaming into the basement) so we followed what directions we had ( I think we googled it) and manage to shut off the gas and the water to the hot water heater. Well, obviously the pilot light went out and by morning we had no hot water and couldn['t figure ouot how to re-light the pilot light. So, after perusing a few names on the locasl internet, we called Schede Plumbing and told our story. The service desk said we would get a call back and took our information. We almost immediately got a text from Lou Schede, 4th generation owner of Schede Plumbing who asked me to send a couple of pictures of the hot water heater via my iphone by texting him back. Soon thereafter he was texting and calling us to say he concluded that the water heater appeared to be stable but I said it had been installed in 2004 and Lou agreed it should be looked at more carefully. Then he tried to explain to us how to get the pilot light turned back on after turning off the gas cut off and reigniting the pilot light, saying he could have a new relacement tank available for installation as soon as Monday. But we couldn't get the pilot light to reignite. So Lou, in Lou fashion, drove out to our house on a Saturday morning and reignited our pilot light ofr us, giving us back hot water for a day and a half (we were going to have a new water heater installed on Monday anyway but Lou felt we shouldn't have to go without hot water for the balance of the weekend).

So we called early Monday morining, or texted him late Sunday night, I forget, and by 8:30am on Monday morning we had a new water heater dropped off by one of Schede Plumbing's teamm and 15 minutes later, an installation team of two showed up and worked tirelessly for the next four and a half hours draining the water out of the old tank, removing the old tank, installing the new tank, attaching an automatic shutoff sensor which would stop the water flow if the unit began to leak and explaining the whole system to us. by 12:30pm, just in time for my scheduled appointment with my eye doctor, our new water hearter was up and running. These guys really knew what they were doing and had a family owner who actually cared. Pretty cool.

I just renovated a small apartment building, it has six bathrooms and two Kitchens. I have been dealing with Schede plumbing for over 16 years now, first with Lou and now with his son Nick. The whole crew are very professional and always manage to finish the job neatly and efficiently. They re organized the plumbing in my own house, from the boiler to automatic water shut off monitors to sump pumps, everything works beautifully.
I can't thank the team enough. They are probably one of the best plumbing services in CT.

After having called few other plumbing companies which either didn't answer the phone, had no availability or provided an outrageous fee quote, I called Schede (google search). I needed to schedule a dishwasher installation and valve replacement in a condo- the lady who answered the phone was polite and friendly, provided all required documents to the condo management promptly. Service was reasonably priced and provided within few days. Highly recommended!

We had a great experience with Schede Plumbing & Heating! We were looking for someone to replace our AC filters and ispect the HVAC system for the season. The company was very responsive and was able to give us an appointment within a week. The technician, Randy, did a fantastic job - he called on the day of the job to give us a specific ETA, arrived promptly, replaced the filters and did a very thorough check of our HVAC system. When we mentioned an issue with the airflow in one of the rooms, Randy was able to troubleshoot the problem and helped us remove the extra insulation foam over the airvent that was restricting the airflow. In addition, he also checked out the condensers outside to make sure everything was in order. We will definitely be using the company in the future!

Schede provides excellent service promptly. They are reasonably priced, know their stuff, and leave no trace of their mess when done. We used them for a new boiler and now use them for all our plumbing needs.
