I called for a furnace check before the winter. $75 for a service call.
They told us that we should get a new furnace as ours was 20years old.
WOW. Did we want to sigh up for $4,200, or more, depending on what they found?

Then, insisted on a $199 service call payment, for talking to us, before he would leave. I'm elderly and live alone, so I paid.

I asked friends who told us about their experiences and regrets
NO GOOD REVIEWS !!!
i called several competitors .. NONE CHARGED A PENNY!
New furnace costs were put in writing, we are very happy!

I called to get service for my wall unit and my Fourseason room and set an actual appointment. Of course I have to take off work so I can sit and wait for their ""window"" the tech will arrive. About an hour into the service window. I get a text saying I'm next on the list within about 10 minutes of that text, I get a call from them saying that he doesn't know how long he's going to be And to set me up for another day. And I said no I need my service on my appointment that I set up earlier in the week I had to wait two or three days for this now the unit does not work and I'm calling someone else. I knew I should not have given them another chance after they screwed up installing a water heater. Being a construction manager, I called in and raised all kinds of hell for the water heater and the service manager himself actually came out and fixed it. It was over a half an inch out of plum. Do not use these people call someone else. Do not give them more chances than they deserve

I am late writing this review. My life got very busy after our service but I had time to reflect and decided this should be posted. I has Schaal install our new furnace and ac unit in March of 2023. We purchased a one year additional pack for furnace filter changes and check ups. They began calling me in December 2023 to schedule my check up. We connected and I about fell out of my chair when they said their first available was June. We went ahead and accepted. An hour before our appointment, they messaged their tech was sick and wanted to reschedule for July 3rd. We again accepted. My husband was home to meet the tech where we paid 50 plus dollars for a furnace filter we could've got online for 15$. I let it roll off. Fast forward to an hour after the tech left. My daughter realized that our air was holding at 79 and was no longer working. I panicked and called them. They proceeded to state they would try to get us in before their techs went home for the holiday weekend. Please remember my air was fine prior to their visit. I let the receptionist know I was afraid because it was the 4th of July weekend and it would be peak charges if I had to call another company. She began to get loud with me and said she would see what she could do. I was in a full on panic and left work early to figure out what to do. They called me back 30 minutes later to tell me a manager was going to come which I appreciate.
When he got out there, it was two wires on my unit that is outside. My husband realized that while the tech was outside looking at the unit he was also trying to sell us another one year package when we didn't get to use the one we had.
My husband thinks it was messed up maliciously due to the nature of the conversation.

While I'll never know, I will never let Schaal back in my house. No one apologized or offered anything to make us feel better about what had become a huge deal. I will say the manager that came was friendly and it took him two seconds to correct the issue but knowing if I had been quiet, I would have had to pay another place to come fix their error still doesn't sit right.

I would think twice before calling Schaal y'all

Have a drainage issue. The guy came out and didn't even have his tools, so he came back two days later and said it's the Cities issue. But the city say their line is cleared and were confused on why is it their problem. Don't recommend they will over charge you for no work.

I had Schaal come in and fix a thermostat device problem. Zach Grave was my HVAC technician. I've been in the manufacturing business for over 40 years and it's most refreshing to see a young professional enjoy his profession with such a high level of creditability and drive to ""do things right""
We need more people like Zach and companies like Schaal. They have earned by business for life. I'm more than happy, I'm pleased that we have places like Schaal and individuals such as Zach, that can make our life a little bit better. Do me a favor, if you are reading this review, please try them, you will not be disappointed. Let's support local business, they are the backbone of our community.

They installed two high-end HVAC systems in our home, some years later, they can't even be bothered to order some faceplates for our vents without charging us $99 to send someone out to our home (presumably on top of the charge for the faceplates). Feels like highway robbery and really poor service. These people won't care about you once they have your money. Find someone else to install your system.

They completely tried to scam my elderly mother with a plugged dishwasher. They quoted her $11,000 for a sewer repair that she did not need & somehow got her signed up for an 'extended warranty' . No paper estimates either. Hoping the check she wrote for $200 for NOTHING gets stopped!
Stop their scam immediately!
How truly appalling to take advantage of people in these tough financial times!
She had the repair done for $160!!!
Call Mr Rooter for work.

They are no Mario bros instead they are Pirates of the Caribbean. They will not trying to help you, but they will try to get as money as they can from you.

We need to replace a kitchen sink so we contact them base on their weirdly high google review. Now think about that, they must pay a lot to control all the one star reviews against them and maybe that's why they need to rip people off all the time.

They were trying to charge us for over 8000 to get a new sink and that 8000 doesn't included drill a hole on the wall. We have to make a hole on the wall for them, they don't make a hole for us. The other company said they can do everything under 2000 and if they need to make a hole on the wall they will do it themselves no need for our help and price is included in that 2000. Such a big difference that makes me laugh.

I don't know how they dare to call themselves professional and charge people ridiculous high price for only half quality service.

Ps. Why I know they remove 1 star reviews on google? Because they removed mine. And from yelp reviews you can see I am not the only one who has these experiences with Schaal Plumbing.

We quoted Schaal for an air conditioner and possible furnace replacement. We got the company name by a referral, so we actually planned to make them our last quote until they came out. Schaal's pricing was at least double any competitor I quoted. The company refused to provide a written quote (only read off price list) and I found the representative who came out unhelpful when inquiring about options. I also found the advertised special at the time (""free furnace with air conditioner purchase"") very misleading given the pricing we were offered.

Called and quoted me a price plus 5 dollars for gas!!!!
They said someone would respond in 24 to 48 hours. 4 and half days later they contact me to come out. Unacceptable.
If you can't trust their words can you trust them to do quality work?
