Tim H.I was referred by a family member that had a great experience with Frank. My experience was very similar. The job was done promptly and for a good price. Frank kept in touch with me through the whole process. I would absolutely refer Frank to others in the future!
Ashley F.I called Frank early friday morning to take a gas line out of my chimney asap. He made time to come out to me Tuesday morning. In the meantime, he was very responsive to any questions I had and responded immediately. I wanted him to install a gas stove in the basement but he said it wasn't up to code and was old. Any other guy could have charged me to do the work.
My husband walked around our house asking his honest opinion and he was very sincere. Im glad we have a plumber to call in the future if and when we have any other issues.
Rebecca C.Do not hire them. They were hired to install a new heating system, they convinced us that we needed all this work done and that if we didn't do it we'd be in trouble once the winter came. He basically scared us into going with him and that the other plumbing companies didn't know what they were talking about. The job should have taken 2 weeks and ended up taking a month and a half and it's still not finished. We had the inspector come and he failed their job, had a list of things that needed to be redone correctly. But since we thought the job was done, we had paid the final monies to them. So we still have a failed inspection, he hasn't completed all the items on his ""contract"" (that he said would be included as part of it and that he signed), and he will not return our phone calls. So basically we got screwed. It's really so sad that companies can still be in business who treat people like this.
Mary M.Scavone installed a new furnace and AC for us last spring. We turned on the heat for the first time in the Fall and we had problems with it. It kept shutting down. We called several times and had no response. We had a lawyer send a letter and he just lied to the lawyer. We had to call in another company that found that it was installed incorrectly. All the piping has be removed and completely done over. Another huge expense! Very unprofessional, we got ripped off on all the work he did for us and we are seeking legal action.
Frank Scavone is an awesome plumber! He SAVED me during the ""arctic freeze"" of 2016. I was referred to Frank by my boiler company after learning my basement pipes were frozen. Frank had never met me before, but came over within an hour of my phone call (on Valentines day nonetheless). After assessing the problem, he left to gather supplies & returned later that night with 2 space heaters and a plan to help save my pipes from bursting. He returned each day for the next 2 days until he was sure my pipes were safe. Thanks to his efforts, my frozen pipes did not burst and no permanent damage was done!
To sum it up, he was efficient, timely, professional and extremely flexible with my demanding schedule. I will be referring him to anyone in need of a plumber and will be sure to be using him in the future.
I initially contacted BEI plumbing after reading through some good reviews on google. But Bob, the contractor at BEI was not available and so he recommended Frank Scavone. Since BEI had good reviews, i went with his words blindly. That was mistake number one.
The problem was: there is a leak in the ceiling when the AC was running.
Frank had a quick inspection and said my AC unit is not leveled on the Attic and thats the reason for the leak and he had to insert an extra stud and straighten it. and it wud take $400+ to do so.. So after 1 week, he showed up to work and did what he said.. he also mentioned he will add a new sensor to make the unit stop running, the moment there is a leak. and he wud also clean the unit and change the filter.. ..That was another $100.
When he opened the unit to install the sensor and he tripped the thermostat. i had a spare thermostat, he installed it and that got burnt as well. then he blamed the installation of the thermostat and fixed something and replaced a cheap basic $50 thermostat.
After all these drama, the AC wont work. Took two days to track him. He brought in an electrician and mentioned about some fuse issue and he had to replace it. .. so he charged $200 for the electrician.
The AC was working fine untill he showed up .. the only problem was.. it was leaking on to the ceiling . And thats why i called him. ""To fix the leak.""
After down with almost more $600+ .. i switched on the AC.. the leak was still happening. I called him.. he said he will come to fix it. but he wouldnt.. Frustratingly, I climbed up the attic and noticed that there was a busted pipe that carries the condensed water, and thats the origin of the leak.. it was a 10 min job for him. and he did not even notice it.
I called him again to come and fix it .. cause i paid him 600$+ and still have the problem. He mentioned he would come in that evening, but did not.
Finally i fixed it myself. I am clearly ripped of ..
On top of this.. he was swearing at every irritation, the entire time while he was at his job.
I surely dont recommend him to any one.
Shay H.Scheduled an appointment with him to fix a clogged kitchen sink (a 5 minute job, for which he wanted $150). He never showed up, never called. This guy is the very definition of unprofessional.
I needed a water heater replaced ASAP. They brought in and replaced the water heater and took away the old one. The job was done quickly and without leaving anything for me to clean up. The price was extremely reasonable for a job well done.
I would never use this plumber after the screwing he gave my 95 year old grandmother. He installed a new gas water heater. She called to tell him that she smelled gas. He said he would be over that pm. Never showed. Additional calls had the same result. He never showed up to even to shut off the gas. As far as he knows my mother still has a gas leak, and no hot water. A real piece of sh&t. We are pursuing legal avenues. Needless to say I would give him zero stars if possible.
On July 2nd I wrote a glowing review at the repeated request of Frank Scavone. As of today November 12th I have had several months of experience to realize that all that glitters is not gold. Suffice it so say, I would NOT recommend this company for service. Although the initial build out of the two burners and their water tanks are hung correctly and look attractive, there was no final walk through and check of job finish before asking for final payment. And shame on me for not doing so too. Shame on me for trusting him at his word. The install was done in June and when the cold weather started in October, we did not have heat for several days. When finally he did come out to see what the problem was (stating that there was something wrong with the wiring) it took another 3 days to get the electrician back and get heat to the house. Who doesn't check to see if everything is in working order before leaving for the next job?
Furthermore, there is always a wait. Wait for response and wait for repair. Always hearing other emergencies are keeping him from my emergency. You'll have to wait until he can fit in the time. Weeks later.
Customer service, follow through, and timely response all get a failed rating. After spending $23,000 I am sorry to say, it wasn't worth it. I wish I had spend even more time doing my research. I certainly hope anyone considering an expensive conversion will take the time to really research their contractors and get as much information on their performance as possible. Don't just rely on one recommendation, look at all the sources of background information possible. And then get it all in writing. Even a service contract for the warranty years promised, have it spelled out; the details and how much time will elapse before response and repairs are done.
