Scan Tech has saved me twice: First in Oct 2017 -- a ground floor tile had settled and plunged a small nail into the pipe in the crawl space below the house. The leak was 60 gall an hour and you can imagine the muddy mess. I called in Scan Tech after American Leak Detection couldn't find the issue / didn't want to go into the crawl space.

Second in Oct 2018 -- I was afraid it was the crawl space again. Scan Tech said no, surveyed the property and found leaky valves in the outdoor watering system. I turned off the water, replaced the valves and everything is fixed.

It cost $300 per time to isolate the issue and was well worth it. He found the issue in less than an hour.

Several plumbers said that we have a leak but they were unable to find the location of the leak. Scantech was recommended by one of the plumbers. I made an appointment with Scantech and he looked around the house doing exactly the same thing the plumbers did. At the end, he decided that there is no detectable leaks. I am SUPER unhappy that he charged me so much for exactly the same thing that plumbers have already done. I literally paid him hundreds of dollars for nothing.

I have used peters services many time over the years for detecting underground leaks. I am a service plumber in the area but finding underground leaks is a specialty. Water was bubbling up through our wood floor. We have a slab foundation, and I feared the worst - a break in the water line inside the slab. This had happened at my mother's condo, so I knew that the first step would be to find the source of the leak.
I found ScanTech on Yelp. Peter arrived on time and looked at the problem, asked a lot of questions, checked the meter, and told me that he didn't think it was a cracked pipe in the slab.
More questions, and then he suggested we move the fridge to see the ice-maker connection.
The floor under the fridge was covered with water, and the ice-maker connection was leaking. There was no water in front of the fridge, so I never suspected it. The water flowed along the wall, and then under the wood floor, percolating up 12 feet away.
Although I never got to see Peter use his high-tech equipment, I am very impressed. He's like a detective. He's thorough and logical, friendly, and very professional.
I highly recommend Peter and ScanTech to solve your mysterious leaks.

SJWC told us we had some huge leak and shut off our water. Peter was able to give us a next day apt, was on time, professional, and friendly. Methodically ran his tests, figured out where our leak was and gave us a temporary fix until the plumbers could get out so that we could at least have our water back on.

Nice guy, efficient and it's always nice to have local work by small companies.

Wrote up a detailed invoice for the plumber and SJWC. Can't thank him enough for getting us in so quickly.

Both Peter and Jose were very professional but friendly. The work was quick and unobtrusive. They scanned our property for pipes that were laid before we purchased the house. They identified and marked where the existing water, sewer, and electrical lines ran through our back yard. They even supplied the depth every ten feet, so we know where and how to dig for any projects we have in the future.

They were also very knowledgeable and helpful with everything I asked about. They pointed out issues we should be aware of, including possible failures on certain exposed conduits, as well as the likely condition of the pipes in and out.

I highly recommend their services. They are great to work with and very pleasant people.

Peter was a total professional. Picked up his phone when I called (you wouldn't believe how hard it is to reach tradespeople the first call) and came out the next day as scheduled, charged me a simple flat fee and scanned my lawn, found my leak, dug up the area to expose it and offered me his professional opinion and was friendly and helpful. I didn't know services like this existed. it was pretty cool watching how this stuff is done too. I learned a thing or two. Thank you, Peter!
