Jacob S.I had a bad main sewer line put in by a previous owner, which began to cause backups. Saw Plumbing was able to provide an estimate the day I called them and was able to quickly schedule the work after I confirmed the estimate. The day of the work, they started on time and finished within hours. They explained what was done incorrectly on the old system and did everything efficiently and to code. I now have no backups and everything is in working order. Saw Plumbing was faster and provided a better value than a competitor I inquired with. They also included replacement sidewalk paving for what was taken out for the line repair at a reasonable price.
I called on a Saturday and made an appointment for Monday Afternoon. I made arrangements to be home for the service. They never showed up. I called a couple of hours after the time I was expecting them and they never returned my call. If they didn't want the job, they should have just told me that rather than waste my time and set me back days with the project.
Shelly is a lifesaver. I had an issue with a leaking drain from my shower and he was able to come on the same day and stayed until after 8:00 to finish the job. He's got a customer for life.
Harold F.Have been using SAW for a few years, they even came once on a Sunday and pumped out my main sewer line, fair prices, knowledgeable & will listen to you when they arrive and go to the problem and fix it right the first time. I wouldn't use any other company.
My Tuesday evening began with a visit to my basement and the sight of water dripping from the bottom of my cast iron sewer pipe where it meets my foundation wall. My call to SAW Plumbing was returned promptly and a visit to my house was set up for the next day. A quick diagnosis was able to be made and a plan was put in place to replace the sewer line from my basement out the street. The owner Shelley has a calming and understanding demeanor that eased my concerns and worries right away. The office manager Tara is truly kind and more than willing to answer any and all of my questions with patience and grace. Finally, employees John and Brandon and their work is truly an asset to Shelley and SAW Plumbing. Thank you all for turning a stressful problem turn into peaceful solution!
My main to the sewer was clogged 7/22/21. Saw plumbing was the sixth phone call I made to get someone there on an emergency basis. They arrived same day, and unclog the drain. However, during the cleanup process the shop vac broke. A 16 foot long by 8 foot wide puddle of sewer water remained, which I was told would be ""resorbed by the concrete"". Said puddle ran under my furnace/central air. The smell in the house was nauseating. In addition, The broken shop vac was carried outdoors and dumped on my back lawn! a brass bed headboard the was sitting on wooden lifts to keep it off the floor in the event of water was pulled from the supports, turned upside down and sitting in the puddle. I called on Saturday to let them know that the puddle had not in fact resorbed into the concrete, despite running 2 dehumidifiers and a box fan, and that the smell was making people sick. I was told they would be by with something to kill the smell Monday or Tuesday. It's 3:30 PM on that Tuesday and I have not heard from them! If I could give negative stars, I would!
I've had slow running drains for weeks. I could shower or run the dishwasher but not both at the same time. I did a load of laundry last night and gray water backed up into the 1st floor bath tub. I called Saw Plumbing and Drain (on a friend's recommendation) and they had someone here in less than an hour. The guy knew what he was doing. Everything works now. Best of all - THEY DON""T CHARGE EXTRA FOR WORKING ON SUNDAY!!! They do regular plumbing too.
Helen A.Showed up, literally, in five minutes to an out-of-hours call, worked quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption to the house, knew exactly what the problem was and went right to the source. Got the job done fast and very professionally (this was not an amateur fix) and kept the cost to a minimum. He made sure the problem was truly fixed before leaving, and cleaned up so you'd barely ever know he was there.
Hope I never have to call him again, but I wouldn't hesitate to in the future.
Alison H.I had an initially helpful conversation with the dispatcher at Saw Plumbing. She was about to send someone over to my home in Albany's South End when she noticed that her technicians don't serve my zip code -12202. They seem to serve every other zip code in Albany, but not 12202. Why? She wondered aloud if I live on the fringe of the city. I live in the heart of the city, 3 blocks from the Empire State Plaza and a block from the Governor's Mansion.
In my five years living here, I've found it difficult to find quality local tradespeople to work in my predominantly Black and immigrant neighborhood. Particularly plumbers. I hope that Albany plumbers and the unions who serve them take this paragraph to heart.
I'm willing to give Saw Plumbing the benefit of the doubt and think that perhaps by some quirk of geography, they don't have plumbers close enough to service my home. But I forcefully recommend they find a way to offer service to the entire city they claim to serve. On the face of it, their current practice appears blatantly racist.
I cannot say enough good things about Shelly and his team. I had a clogged sewer and water drain-he fixed the problem and was very informative about how the sewer drain got clogged (roots from nearby trees etc). He takes the time to talk to you and let you know what is going on and why it happened. I found him to be very honest and easy to work with and would highly recommend him for any job big or small.
