Santa Monica Plumbing and Heating was established by a local plumber in 1965. In the early years, the company concentrated on servicing small homes. During the early 1990s, Marco Ramirez, who began as an apprentice plumber, acquired extensive experience in diverse plumbing and heating projects at SMPH. In the mid-1990s, he assumed control of the business and broadened its offerings to encompass residential and commercial plumbing along with new construction.
Marco Ramirez earned his plumbing certification from a California trade school in 1989. He began his plumbing career at Mike Diamond Plumbing located in Culver City. In 1992, he acquired his business license and honed his skills in running a small plumbing company, working on thousands of plumbing and heating projects. He later joined Santa Monica Plumbing and Heating and quickly took over the business. Marco oversees the operations and leads a dedicated team of plumbers, administrators, and contractors. Living in Santa Monica with his family, Marco likes to mountain bike, stay fit, and work on his own construction endeavors during his leisure time.

SCAMMERS. 2 med arrived. My husband showed them the problems, kitchen sink clogged, toilet backed up and black fluid flowed out of the tub. They went down to look at the wrong garage and called me on their cell phone to tell me it's the main pipe. I told them the main pipe is in the roof. They said they will not climb a roof and will have to rip out the toilet to find the problem. We send them away because they were not here to work but to scam us.

Work was great and efficient, but I really don't appreciate being taken advantage of and ripped off on the bill. The original estimate was for a significant job in an emergency but they only ended up snaking and clearing a pipe. The bill? $750.
I didn't fight it at the time because I'm renting and the landlord was covering but once the owner explained to me just how insanely overpriced this bill was - about 3x - I had to say something. After all, they did ask me to leave a Yelp review...
I'm not saying I wouldn't recommend them - the work was good - but expect your bill to be heavily inflated.

Manny was used as the plumber for a water issue. He was fast professional and personable. Great work ethic, detailed, and neat. Awesome service. Huge asset to his company.

Called around 11am with an urgent issue. It's 2:30pm and Manny and Rudy just left. Fast, professional, and seem to have totally fixed my issue. When your kitchen sink is unusable, that's all you can ask for - quick and proper service.

Excellent service. Arrived at promised time diagnosed the problem and completed clearing two drains at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend Manny and Rudy.

Marco is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I called him on Monday September 16 and we talked about changing an angle stop for my kitchen sink. The price he quoted me seemed high but I didn't care because of the MOSTLY good reviews he has on yelp. Since I live in a high rise building I told him I need to give 72 hour notice to cut off the water to two floors of my building so we scheduled the appointment for that Thursday at 10 am. His secretary called me Wednesday to confirm. Thursday at 10:30 am I call his secretary Nora to find out if he was coming. She put me on hold, said she could not find him, said that I would receive a call when she did. At 11 am he calls me, obviously from his truck, but I could not make a word he was saying because it was all garbled. After several calls back and forth he calls back and now I can understand what he is saying. He wants me to take a photo of the broken angle stop to see if he has a spare in his truck. That surprised me because an angle stop is a small part. He said he would arrive ""shortly"". When I asked him why he did not ask for the photo when we discussed the job three days ago his response was ""I'm human. I goofed up"". My building cannot be without water until he gets his act together so I cancelled and got somebody else who did a great job at 60 % of the price.

My laundry backed up and leaked all over the floor. So, Santa Monica Plumbing to the rescue. Manny and Rudy came, first thing this morning. They checked my washer, snaked the line, gave me great advise, looked around and double checked, explained everything. Sometime plumbing problems are complicated. Manny and Rudy did a great job making me feel comfortable and taken care of.
DEFINITELY calling them again if/when I have another problem.
Thank you guys.

Since these guys did such a good job with the water heater, we had them back to install new bathroom fixtures! New sink faucets and a whole new bath/shower. Manny and Rudy did a beautiful, clean and fast job! Nora who schedules the guys always gets them in ahead of time and is a pleasure to deal with.

Great service first time out. Manny was a courteous, knowledgible tech who diagnosed and explained the problem quickly, clearly and then fixed it. Thanks, Manny.

With very little effort, Manny managed to identify the source of a mysterious leak underneath the kitchen sink. He was punctual, professional and efficient. I would recommend Manny and Santa Monica Plumbing unequivocally.
