We have worked with Santa Cruz Green Builders for many years now. They have consistently provided top notch repairs and construction tor us in two homes and three commercial properties. Taylor's communication style is clear and concise, his scheduling is predictable and the finished result has never disappointed. The subcontractors have been well chosen and well supervised and when unexpected developments arise (as they often do when remodeling old homes), Taylor and Spencer have always presented us with realistic solutions. Integrity, consistency and reliably high quality work are Santa Cruz Green Builders' hallmarks.

When choosing a person or company for a job, I am extremely thorough and picky. We had a handful of jobs such as remodeling a bathroom and adding a room. I called and researched more than a handful of construction companies and Santa Cruz Green Builders stood out from the very beginning. Taylor called me back within a day and made an appt to come out and see what needed to be done. He came out w Aaron; who would later become in charge of our project. Immediately I felt at ease with the two of them and appreciated how friendly and sincere they were. Their schedule was pretty busy but I was more than willing to wait as I knew they were ""the ones"". From the time they began the work til the last day, Aaron and ALL the other workers were nothing but professional, kind, hard-working, and trustworthy. I genuinely liked all of them and was so appreciative of the exceptional work they all did. The remodel looks EXCELLENT and we are so thrilled. SCGB were just as awesome as I thought they would be. We have more work that needs to be done on the house and of course, we will be using them again. There is definitely only one number on my phone for a construction company and it's Santa Cruz Green Builders!

I want to give these guys props. They haven't built anything for me, however when I wrote to them with some questions about building a tiny home in Santa Cruz, they answered promptly. They were respectful, and clearly put some time into crafting a response that was super helpful for me. They gave me a lot of useful comparative information to help me make my decision, and I really appreciated that. Honestly they didn't have to put that much effort into it, and I sincerely appreciate their friendly tone and informative approach. If I do ever build something in the area, I will do it with them. In this business, relationships are everything. It's rare to find groups that understand that and cultivate clear communication to this degree.

We hired Santa Cruz Green Builders to do two jobs for us; the first was an extensive renovation of an old....We doubled the livable square feet to our house, which greatly improved its livability and appearance. The second was a total kitchen remodel,replacing flooring, and windows. We were exceptionally happy with both experiences.

Taylor's attention to detail was legendary, and it was clear from the finished job. As he discovered problems in the house, he recommended ways to deal with them that helped with the structure and appearance of the house. The few concerns we brought him on the bucket list were dealt with immediately and professionally. His pricing was always reasonable and his staff very courteous (both jobs we done with occupants in the house.

Recently the house sold as one of the hottest properties in the West Side as a result of these improvements.

They were on-time to every appointment and to the job site, even starting and finishing the job early. A change in materials from redwood to trex was no problem for them. Taylor was very helpful in planning the project (deck), working with me and with the lumber yard on materials, and getting the job done. I would definitely work with them again.

This team is amazing and so professional. Spencer and Taylor are great guys that you can completely trust. They remodeled our master bathroom and completely transformed it through our vision. We were on a budget and they gave us ideas on ways to save and made great suggestions along the way. I love their style, hard working attitudes and extended team they work with. We have worked with Santa Cruz Green Builders (SCGB) for a number of years now. They have almost completely remodeled our home, section by section. Some of the work they have done for us has been remodeling our master bath, kitchen, entryway, changing out many of our windows and doors, installing a fence and building a deck. Their work has all been top notch! They are professional, clean, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and just plain fun to have around! We've had the pleasure of working with both Taylor and Spencer as the main contractors and we found both equally talented and easy to get along with. They were both always willing to answer any questions that we had and if they didn't know the answer to a question, they would find out and get back with us.

The two major projects that they completed for us were a master bath remodel and a kitchen remodel. The kitchen remodel was quite extensive as it involved moving and adding walls, installing windows and doors, moving doorways, adding rounded archways and installing a huge skylight. It was all done flawlessly! The tile work in the kitchen and bath were both very detailed and their subs did an excellent job with the installation. We also chose to add a live edge bar to our kitchen area and although it ended up creating a lot of extra work for SCGB, they did a beautiful job and didn't charge us for the additional time.

In addition to these larger jobs, they have also helped us with various small jobs along the way such as installing a moisture barrier under the house, adding a drain in our front patio area, installing a sump pump under the house and installing two french doors.

One of the reasons that we originally chose SCGB was because they had a focus on green building and this is important to us. In addition, we've found that their prices are more than fair. They are truly delightful to have around! I completely trusted them in my home, whether I was there or not. That's important to me and I can't say that I've felt that way about all contractors that I've worked with. We've worked with other contractors previously and there's no comparison. I can't imagine ever working with another contractor again!

We feel so lucky to have found SC Green Builders. Our plumber recommended them and he was right: they do beautiful work. I'm sure our small jobs were just nickel-and-dime work for them, but you never would have known it. Their quotes and invoices are very clear, everyone who worked on our house was punctual and professional, they always left the house cleaner than when they arrived, and they were just a bunch of very cool guys.

We've had some interesting experiences with other contractors and subs this summer, and they were just head-and-shoulders over everyone else. Can't wait to work with them on our master bathroom sometime next year -- we just hope they aren't too slammed with work due to all the stellar reviews!

Santa Cruz Green Builders worked with me on my remodel in Campbell - they handled the deconstruction, foundation, and framing/windows/doors as well as all the exterior trim/decks/arbors. All the work was top-notch and has garnered praise from the other contractors I've hired. Taylor's estimates for cost and time were spot-on.

SC Green Builders have been a good source of ideas and suggestions for all stages of the project. Communication while working together was excellent, with any issues or mutual decisions getting worked out very easily. We reused the siding from my original house, which took some extra time to re-mill. They were very upfront about the extra labor it would involve - no surprises along the way. When a door showed up that was the wrong size, they were able to quickly fix it on-site and then customized it to blend in with the siding. I think they enjoyed the challenge and even ended up saving time and some money (the door supplier gave us the option of returning the door or reducing the price).

I've been acting as my own general during the project and I've learned how many phone calls it takes to track down different materials or items, and I now look back and am surprised at how easy they made it look.

I have no reservations recommending SCGB for any kind of construction work - small one-room renovation or full-house construction. I've been very happy working with them.
