Plumbing has been my passion since I was 22. When I started at my first plumbing company, I understood this was my vocation. I found working with tools and my hands to be second nature. I think it takes a unique character to thrive in the ""blue collar"" industry. Coming from a ""blue collar"" family, I value the lessons it teaches. Now, I aspire to fulfill my dream of owning my own business for many people.

THE OWNER SANFORD IS NOT AN HONEST PERSON!

I can't recommend Sanford & Son Plumbing.

When I first met Sanford he seemed to be a really nice and knowledgable person that understands his business.

Turns out he is completely unreasonable and also dishonest.

A small business owner like him should treat customers better than he does.

I am completely disappointed :-(

""No question, you will need a new water heater. We can come and do that in three days,"" said the other guy. Sanford was here in under two hours and, after assessing the situation, was able to repair our leak for a fair price and no new heater was needed. This is a local business doing honest work and gaining happy return customers. They have our recommendation.

Quick, accurate and so professional. We would highly recommend them for any of your plumbing issues in Ramona. Fabulous and friendly service too even on the day after Thanksgiving!

I would rate less than zero if I could. Scheduled them to come, they said it would be for ""Estimate only"" NEVER SHOWED UP! I called them back the next day and rescheduled.
Sanford arrived, inspected the job and said they would call back with estimate. Sanford said he would do the job the next day. I heard nothing for the rest of that day. I called their number and it rang 8 times with no answer ...not even a machine. I then received a missed call from ""restricted"". Since it is ""restricted"" I could not answer call directly. Thought it might be them so I called back on their regular number. Yes it was them..... a business with a restricted phone number? Now about the phone call: Still no estimate and now they say cannot get to job until next week at the earliest. I have wasted 3 days.

Do Not Use This Company Unless You Have Money to Burn... my warranty company sent out a second Licensed plumber yesterday to review the situation in which Sanford & Sons has left. The second plumber confirmed that the drip pan is an improper size (doesn't allow room to attach the cover that came with the unit) and went on to say that it wasn't a code requirement to have a drip pan in a garage water heater install. At no point did James (the plumber from Sanford & Sons) indicate to me or my warranty company that the drip pan was too small. In fact James said it was a city code requirement to install a drip pan leg (which consisted of what looks like used PVC pipe) for a fee of $89.00. This company charged me for something that was unnecessary - wasn't the correct size for the new water and refuses to remedy the situation. Cheryl the office supervisor has called me a liar and hung up on me when I called to resolve the situation. I do not recommend using this company.

My experience with this company was excellent and I highly recommend them. Prompt, knowledgeable and extremely courteous. They came out the following day after our first call to diagnose the problem and returned the next morning to fix the problem. They replaced the main water pressure regulator to our home and replaced our water heater valve. Problem solved and we are very happy!

I just had a clogged drain. Sanford showed up when he said he would, fixed the problem, and was quite pleasant. I hope I don't need him again but will use his services again if needed. I highly recommend his work.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Apparently a 5 dollar wax ring is 197.50 to install... wish I made 192.50 an hour... I would recommend going else where

My experience with this company was well over a year ago. It was not a great experience but I don't really like posting negative reviews for small businesses on yelp, its tough enough to run a small shop without negative publicity. However I was reminded about my experience the other day and I remembered how close I was to getting hosed for several thousand dollars so I decided to share.

Over time my toilets had gotten to a point where they would not flush. Prior to this I had a rooter guy come out a couple times, and tried some root treatment product, etc., it helped but was a temporary fix. Had Sanford come out and he used his camera to inspect my sewer line, which costs about $300. Bingo he found that a root had punctured my plastic sewer pipe and showed me a grainy blob on the camera screen that was supposed to be the intrusion. Then used a locator tool to determine the exact location of the break which was underneath the toilet, below the slab. It was at that point in time he says ""hope you are ready to remodel your bathroom"". Basically the toilet, shower, tile, maybe sink, etc. would need to be removed to jackhammer up the floor to fix it. Ballpark 7-8k or there abouts.

I almost went for it. Im no plumber but the next day I decided to lift the toilet and at least see what I could see. What I saw was a tiny 1/4"" root that had worked its way between the tiny gap in the slab and the sewer pipe. In grew over the top of the toilet flange and then down the pipe. I cut the 1/4"" diameter root at the top and started to pull it up. I was not prepared for what happened next. I proceeded to pull out a 12 foot long, 3"" diameter tree of porcupine looking roots decorated with toilet paper, dental floss, and other things that go down a toilet, it really looked like something from an alien movie.

Got it pulled out, cut the root back as far as I could at the flange and doused it with round up, caulked over it put the toilet back in. It cost me $5 for a wax ring and about two hours of my time. Its 100% fixed and have had no future issues. So, not sure what the video of the ""break"" was about, or the locator dog and pony show, because nothing was broken. Needless to say I did not call them back.
