I've been having Sam do work for me many times over the years on several remodels and few emergency things such as water heaters that I didn't feel like doing myself. He's always come through and worked out fair pricing with me. As far as this guy from Manhattan goes, well, Sam getting older and has has some issues. So who knows. But I've never felt gouged and his work has always been done correctly and professionally and in short order.

In July of 2015, I paid Same Lobene for a hot water boiler which he was going to purchase and install for me. Because my renovations never ended up happening, I asked him if he could either refund me the money (minus a restocking fee of course and whatever a fee for inconveniencing him) and if that was not possible, I told him I would just take the water boiler and figure out what to do with it. This was back in July. Since then he and I have shared and exchanged many texts and calls and with each text and call, Sam promised me he would get around to either delivering me the water boiler or refunding me my money. To date, nothing has happened. He has kept my money and never delivered anything. In the beginning, he told me he had been seriously sick and was recovering and needed some time to deal with the paper work and promised he would come through. Since then, he has texted me again and again just saying he has been busy and would call me and return my money. He never has. I am extremely disappointed that Sam turned out to be such a dishonest person. I am putting this one because I hope everyone else will be careful dealing with him. He comes across very trustworthy and I was very surprised by his actions.
