Placed a service call regarding a fluorescent light in our garage that need the ballast repaired (my husband had installed replacement bulbs but not responding correctly). When the tech arrived he seemed more interested in setting up HVAC, smoke detector check recurring services. When I specified the exact project he asked me "if I had the new ballast to be installed". Of course I did not as that is why I called for an electrician and when I place the call that was not mentioned. Quoted me a price for replacement if I were to have him return (over $800!) and he could not guarantee the replaced ballast. I paid him the $99 service fee with a pit in my stomach. Considering halting cc pmt due to misleading situation

I will never use them ever. They lied about what the cost would be. They said there was a small fee to come out. I told them my son's room light was not working and the doorbell was not working as well. They checked it out and told me the same thing I told them without even fixing them. They charged me $250 plus and wanted me to pay an additional $1000 plus to fix the problems. This company is unethical. Be very careful using them.

Quoted over six times the amount another company ended up doing a quality job with.

Initially they refused to refund the $99 fee despite giving a quote nobody would ever be able to proceed with.

When I called in again about the fee they finally agreed their quote was not fit for service but here I am still waiting 3 weeks later to be refunded.

Do not use this unethical company. I'll be sharing my experience broadly.

This company while i guess extra professional was hughly overpriced. I call and asked for an estimate to install a ceiling fan in my bedroom and they wouldn't give a quote over the phone, that should have been my first clue. They arrived and would not quote the fan until they did a whole house inspection? They told me they didnt know my house and as father's they needed to inspect before starting to be safe: after this inspection and the 99 dollar service fee which took 45 minutes they gave me a fan estimate of 460.10! Oh my gosh and offered me a monthly service plan. That was a solid no!
I just got another electrican to install my fan for 150 dollars and with in a couple hours of contact. Never will I call Salt Plumbing Air and Electric again EVER!

I called Salt Electric to install one outside plant data drop requiring 3 penetrations, 2 face plates, 2 jacks and cabling clips to attach it to the building. The drop was roughly 200 feet using OSP Cat 5e cabling.
The job should have cost no more than about $600, yet salt tried to charge me $1300 and I refused to pay it.
So yes, if you're looking for data work don't come to Salt Electric because they do not know how to bid data work.

I had Salt out to my house to seal some AC duct work which I figured would take a few hours. They only spent 25 mins on the job and only sealed the duct work by the unit. Didn't check the ducts going to the vents and found mold in one of the units which was not addressed, they just sealed it up. They charged me almost $1700!! They tried to sell me on some other items as well but their prices are probably 3x higher than other companies.

What an awesome company. Show up on time professional knowledgeable techs. We had our AC inspection done and the inspector was very helpful to me. We could not ask for more.

So SALT always advertises that if "you have a breaker that keeps breaking, give us a call.". So my A/C breaker was doing just that so I gave them a call. The woman noted that there is a $99 service call fee that would be applied to the work. Fine, I said, can you give me an estimate? No, she said, the guys need to do that. Well can you just give me a price range, assuming no complications? "No, only the guys in the field can do that. I'll give them this, she was really well trained to be as unhelpful as possible! I said bye.

So the point I want to make is this. They supposedly replace hundreds, maybe thousands of breakers and they can't give me an estimated range? REALLY?? That is the definition of a scammy organization that I personally will NEVER deal with!! So, if you like to hire contractors and have absolutely NO IDEA what the project is going to cost, then these are your guys! However, if, like most people, you'd like to have some sort of idea what the project will cost prior to hiring the firm, then don't even think about thinking about hiring them! BTW, I googled electricians and the FIRST one on the list was happy to give me a ballpark estimate, lol!

Not sure what the california reviews are doing but Jason and Lucy in Pflugerville were great. They addressed the issue and fixed the problem. A bad breaker that powered by AC in the Texas heat. I am not sure the going rate for electrical repair but I know I can't do it and the house was near 90 degrees so it was worth it. Super clean and neat. Very respectable to my mother.

We recently had to have an old Elm tree removed in our front lawn and in the process the electrical wires to the lanterns in our front gate were disrupted.
We needed to rerun about 10 feet of wire from our house to the connection. I started to do the work myself, but called Salt to get it repaired. The office staff were friendly and efficient and they sent a technician the next day. Will was pleasant , but instead of working on the problem wanted to do a "survey" of the house, which I understand is part of their initial $99 fee. We have an older house and he found multiple areas needing attention. Then he spent at least half an hour talking to his supervisor and came back with an astounding $6000 estimate for what seemed a simple fix. This would equate to 30 hours of work at $200 per hour. I immediately told him we were not interested. I can't imagine what the other repairs he suggested would have run!

This company's business model is great for them, but not the consumer. I will never make the mistake of using them again.
