Founded in 1960 by Charles and Marie Saia in Tacoma Park, we aimed to provide exceptional craftsmanship to those seeking friendly and reliable support. After our move to Olney in 1965, the business was handed down to Martin and then to his son, Marty, but one thing has not changed -- no matter which Saia son is leading, we are still a small business where you can talk directly to the owner. I highly recommend Saia Plumbing and Hearing. In the last year, I have used Saia Plumbing for two critical jobs. The first job resulted from a gas leak in my house. A short pipe connecting the outside gas meter and the inside gas pipe had cracked, and the gas company turned off my gas. I have gas heat, a gas water heater, and a gas stove, so I needed to get it fixed as quickly as possible. I had not previously used Saia Plumbing, but after I called, Marty Saia immediately dispatched his crew to my my house. They removed and replaced the broken pipe very quickly and painted the new pipe. Thanks to them, I had gas restored to my house within a few hours, and I was very grateful.
The second job was to replace a 26 year old shower and fixtures. The old shower was unnecessarily complex and included three water jets and two diverters. I could no longer adjust the water temperature or turn the shower on and off with any consistency. Marty and his crew spent many hours talking to several manufacturers of plumbing parts and shower fixtures to find a solution that would avoid tearing out or cutting into any shower tiles and making it as consistent as possible with the existing bathroom fixtures. After a lot of planning and back and forth conversations to find an acceptable solution, Saia was able to remove and replace old pipe and install new fixtures very efficiently and without any destruction to the shower structure. I was extremely pleased with the end result.
We called Monday morning for an estimate on plumbing for 2 bathrooms and a kitchen and were told someone would contact us by Tuesday. We called on Wednesday and were told that the boss knows and would be with us shortly. It's now Friday afternoon and no one ever responded from Saia plumbing. I'm sure they do reasonable work but it's simply too hard to schedule with them.
I have used Saia plumbing at least five times in the 14 years I have owned this home. Marty, Jeff and Gary have been great. The jobs were done right and they were always here on the same or next day. The number of visits does not reflect on Saia Plumbing but on the buiilder who put these pipes in! Thanks guys for another fix. I
They saved me! Called in am stating I had sewer water filling my basement bathtub. This was on a day with 5 degrees outside. They came that afternoon and found the problem and fixed it. They were here for over 2 hrs in the bitter cold snaking out my outside pipes. They were so nice and helpful and I was so grateful for their help and being able to come out same day with all the pipe bursts in the area. I am very pleased!
I used him to open a sewer line. He came twice in a 4 day interval and snaked and opened the line and charged $400+ each time without trying to find why it blocked. After it was blocked again I brought another plumber who charged much less and properly diagnosed that tree roots had penetrated the sewer line. It was costly to fix it, but was better than bring this contractor again and again and paying him $400+ each time, only to keep the sewer line for a couple of days.
