No show and rude customer service! They have very bad communication among themselves for scheduling, so you may end up making your time to wait for them and they cancel on you last minute because of their messed-up system, with no technician available at the scheduled and re-confirmed time. And their customer service is very rude hanging up on customers. If they do work for you, there may be more problems down the road because of the current messed up internal communication.

Every time they came they both didn't fix the problem (but charged for it) and also created new problems (which they also charged to fix). Everything they winterized froze - thousands to repair, even basic running toilets not properly fixed and had to be redone. Total mess

The guys at SDR actually took the time to fix my plumbing after coming back to a renovated home that still had drain issues in one area of my house. Professional. Courteous. And will go the extra mile. I've since used them for my boiler. And it's perfect.

Just my experience...

I contacted this company for a hot water issue in my home. Unfortunately, the experience was not great. I explained the issue to a gentleman and emailed a picture of my hot water heater. I got no response. When I called back, I explained the issue again. I was placed me on an ""on call"" list, even though I had asked for an appointment and said it wasn't an emergency, but they told me it would be quicker. They never came or called. The following week I called again and got an appointment (finally).

I asked about the fee structure and was told they would do the work at the time and charge $160 for the first hour and $160/hr in 15 minutes increments thereafter. The man who came was in a hurry- they had clearly not allotted any time for him to spend at my home- he was just there to take a look. He hadn't brought anything for the heater despite my having sent the information. He diagnosed one issue (cartridge in the shower) within minutes. I re-explained all the issues again to him as clearly no one from the office had communicated this to him- with this he thought another shower cartridge needed replacing and agreed the heater needed descaling. He wouldn't stay to do it. He promptly left- he was there for a total of 14 minutes.

Ten days later, I got a bill for $160 dollars- still no resolution to my problems or follow up appointment or any communication outside of the bill. It's been three weeks and I'm still exactly where I started, having had to make many phone calls to chase them down. My bad for not realizing I should have just chosen another company.

When I called today to ask whether the $160 bill would also extend to cover the first 45 minutes of work when they returned, they were very rude to me. They yelled at me and told me I was ridiculous and ""what did I want??"". I told them a five minute drive by estimate shouldn't be $160 dollars, but I was happy to pay for the time they did spend. They threatened to hang up on me.

I was honestly just surprised as they told me that fee it would cover the first hour they spent there. Unfortunately, they clearly came with the intention of being there for no more than a few minutes. It would have been more honest to tell me it would be a brief estimate costing $160.

I am hoping this helps someone. To be clear, they may be excellent plumbers. Who knows? I just don't know that their communication, crazy expensive estimates, and their terrible attitude on the phone is worth it. Lesson learned.

I have had a good working relationship with SDR for more than twenty years. Plumbers call when they are on the way. Office always on top of appointments.

I recently moved into a new home in Greenwich and SDR plumbing was recommended to help with my gas installation for a generator and pool.
Steve, the owner was a pleasure to work with and his guys were very professional, efficient and on time, every time. I then did additional work with a new hot water heater and could not be happier with the service.
If you are looking for a high quality, professional plumber, SDR Plumbing is your answer.

We have used SDR to install replacement toilets in our home which turned out to be complicated because of the age of our home. In addition they figured out how to insure that we did not have a repeat of frozen pipes. Recently they came to our home and solved some relatively tricky smartly. Finally, our dealings with the office have always been very efficient.

These guys used to be great but their customer service lately has fallen short. I had an appointment that they cancelled (due to weather) and they never back called to reschedule. I called 2 weeks later to find out when they were coming - and they couldn't schedule me for another 2 weeks. I told them specifically what I needed (even sent a photo of the part) - yet when they arrived, they didn't have the proper parts. I was advised they could order the part and they could come back (no thanks!). I'm not sure what has happened, but they had better get it together.

I have used SDR Plumbing several times for my residence and for a rental property I own. They are reliable and trustworthy and get the job done correctly the first time. The first time I used them was to correct a problem left by a previous contractor with our two hot water heaters. John from SDR fixed the problem but also spotted some shoddy piping work in our basement that was releasing carbon monoxide into our basement. He fixed it quickly the same day that he fixed our water heater problem. They know what they are doing. I recommend them highly.

SDR Plumbing and Heating are the go-to guys (and gals:)) for any plumbing or heating job. They are experienced, responsive, and professional. The technicians call on their way over and they work quickly and attentively. They also have taught me a lot about our heating system and how to trouble shoot its quirks. Steve genuinely appreciates your business and goes the extra mile to retain your trust. Wouldn't look any further than SDR Plumbing&Heating.
