Rhode Island energy stated my boiler needed a cleaning ' I called SB Carbone and they stated they would send someone out I was happy to have someone come out right away as it was to service my tenants side. unfortunately that was the beginning of the worst interaction with a company. He spends about two hours down there I finally go check on him for him to state ""the boiler doesnt turn back on you need a new valve"" this is without showing any data, after presenting no real tools to measure it is a faulty gas valve. he leaves tellin me he will try to find one and call me back that same evening. 830am at my door is Gil back saying he got a valve if he can get in. at this point I ask how much he doesn't have an answer tells me to call ""The boss"" after an hour the boss gets back to me and tells me it's a 400 piece but ""you need it"" so at this point I figure it's going to atleast fix the problem since the all knowing Gil said it would. Nope after I go check on him after an hour or so he says now I need another part. At which point I told him to stop and take the gas valve back. He says he can't and that I basically have to pay for it. to avoid confrontation I left it at that and figured I'd speak to the company after. end of story I felt like it was a money grab and the fact that Gil thought he could get over on me without presenting any data or measurements that prove the gas valve was faulty to begin with and still send me a bill for over $1000 is crazy. Especially when Rhode Island Energy themselves didn't find a fault with the boiler prior. All I asked for was a cleaning and ended up having to buy another boiler. Now they send me lien notice can't wait to see them in court !

Not customer services, bad attitude. Miscalculate the time that was being service. Attitude is like, we own them, instead of treating customer right. BAD!

Don't waste your time like I did. I called them to have some routine maintenance and cleaning done to my boiler. I get connected with their secretary who gets my info and tells me that Steve would call me back. Steve then calls me later, repeats the same process, then says he will call back when he finds an opening. Then while I'm at work, their technician will call and ask if you can do it that day- less than 24 hours notice. When I say that I'm unavailable, they have to go back to the office to check their schedule to see when they can come back (heads up, they don't call you back). Repeat this entire process three times. Just go with another company who will actually set up an appointment with one phone call.

Call them on Christmas Eve because my boiler went off and I had no heat left A message with the answering service and was told they were gonna call me back they never called back terrible Customer Service that's how you treat a 75-year-old veteran

I used this company a lot when I lived in RI and plan to moving forward.

Fast response, usually same or early the next day if it's an urgent situation (no heat in winter or hot water, etc.)

Fair prices and good workmanship.
My only complaint was that they sold us a hot water heater a few years ago and it started leaking between the hose and the piping going to the rest of the house.
They claimed that it shouldn't be installed like that, but they were the ones that installed it.

I think it was because it was a tech i hadn't seen before and they might have been inexperienced.

I understand it's a business and they need to pay for their time.
Angelo fixed it correctly by connecting copper piping rather than a connection hose.

The plumber responded to a request to evaluate a hot water issue by attempting to verbally bully us into accepting the one, and only, hot water heater he had in his van. After we resisted, after having read the loads of poor reviews on the brand, Carbone Plumbing sent us a bill for $150.00 for DOING NOTHING!! Didn't realize estimates could be so expensive. Go elsewhere!!

Carbone Plumbing & Heating is the BEST!!! We own a rental property in RI and live across the country in CA. When our water heater needed to be replaced Angelo and Steve Carbone went above and beyond to coordinate the repair with our home warranty company. They were patient with the warranty company's slow communication and best of all they followed through and didn't just disappear as some service providers often do if a job becomes a bit of a hassle. Throughout the whole process they were professional and courteous and assured me that they would get the job done. I highly recommend SB Carbone Plumbing & Heating!!!!!
