David H.Good guys - very fair price. Fast response - no up charges etc. knowledgeable guys with concern for overall best practices.
I had called Ryan Plumbing Company on December 19th and they, Scott, came out on the 20th. He is a very knowledgeable plumber and has being in the trade for about 23 years. He listened to what I wanted done, in the order I wanted them done, and he completed all my tasks in a very short period of time and he did an excellent job. He even asked if there was anything else he could do for me, and I said he had done a great job in a record time period. With people like Scott, John and Greg, I will never go to any other plumbing company in the future. When you feel you have the best company in town doing your tasks, there is absolutely no need to ever call another company. They are great, I trust their work skills, and I am happy I called them to do my plumbing needs. They are worth 10 stars if you ask me. Thanks Ryan Plumbing Company for being there when I needed you.
Wow. I just paid Scott $175 to come out and tell me what I already knew (bad zone valve). He gives me an estimate of $1200 to replace it! When I asked why it was so expensive he just shrugged and said, ""that's what the boss says"". He wasn't at all phased that I was going to look for a second opinion - I'm sure he was happy to take the $175 for the 30 minutes it took him. I've definitely learned a hard lesson with this experience. It's embarrassing to say that I actually paid him the $175 - what was I thinking?!
Sherry S.Never before have I ever called a plumbing and heating company and been met with something like this. I called Ryan about a month and a half ago and explained a problem we were having with our heating system. The person on the phone took my number and said they would have someone call me before they came out sometime the next week. I asked at the time if we could narrow it down to at least a particular day and was told no, they would call me 30 minutes before to see if I was available and if not they'd try again later. I went ahead and said okay. Well let's just say it is a good thing that I continued making calls, because I'm still waiting for that phone call.
We called for a free estimate. The person on the phone said they would have to come out to do it. He came out replaced an outside faucet and charged us $450 for 1.5 hours. The office said there was a charge of 179 for the free estimate and then the charging starts from there. The other estimate was $232. My wife was unaware of the previous price. He took advantage of her; we will never go near these people again.
Scott+Ethan, came and cleaned my furnace and drained the over flow tank ( not drained in 30+ yrs) They were very professional and did an excellent job explaining every thing they were doing. I plan on only using Ryan Plumbing in the future! Great job!!
Andi K.I called and requested an appointment as we needed to get our furnace and AC units certified. They were friendly on the phone and said they could be out there Monday morning in the AM. I took the morning off of work...and they never showed. When I called, they said the guy who took my info down was on vacation and that they couldn't work off of others notes. I asked if they still were able to help me out and was told that it was up to me. They mentioned they could come out Wednesday, but may also have time on Tuesday...which Tuesday did not work for me. They called Tuesday and I said that it just wasn't going to work with my schedule for them to come out today, but Wednesday would work...and that was the last that I heard from them. I ended up calling another company after that.
Laura T.In early November I had Ryan Plumbing and Heating come out and inspect my furnace and water heater as I am selling my house. They looked at my water heater and fixed a pipe and inspected my furnace and said it was in good working order. They even signed a piece of paper stating that. Last week my furnace went out on one of the coldest days of the week. I learned that my furnace was FAR from ""good working order"". It was dirty and plugged and needed to be cleaned. On top of that they put the furnace panels on incorrectly. Had they of done their job they would have told me I needed to clean my furnace (which I would have hired them to do!) and the $1000 furnace fix that I encountered could have been avoided!! When I called them to tell them what happened and how they did not inspect the furnace properly and what that had caused me they said they would get back to me. After several days and no return call I called them back today. I had to explain the situation again to someone else and then the person on the phone said that they could reimburse me for 5 minutes of the repairman's time for him not doing his job. It was insulting AND a very expensive mistake for me to have put my trust in this company. As a born and raised eastsider (that would like to keep some business in St.Paul) I would NOT recommend this company due to poor customer service and poor quality of work. I hope the owner of this company reads this review so they know how their brand is being managed and represented.
Karen A.Hiring Ryan plumbing was the worst mistake I made during my 2015 home renovation and bathroom remodel. Aside from terrible communication, lack of attention to detail, and shady licensing of the plumbers, they actually failed to hook up my bathtub drain, resulting in flooding in the room below and serious damages. I regret ever working with them and warn you to stay away.
Patrick P.Wish we could give 6 stars.
We had a nasty leak on our second floor radiator, and made the mistake of calling another company to come out and check it late on a Sunday night. We listened for an hour as this guy tried to sell us a new $10,000 boiler. When that didn't work, he tried saying it would cost $3,600 to fix the radiator - without even checking the radiator leak mind you - so we decided to get a second opinion despite going a long cold night without heat - since the only way to stop the water from gushing out of the radiator was to turn off the boiler( -15 by the way). We called Ryan the next morning, and John showed up promptly. We weren't 100% sure if the last guy from the other company was trying to pull a fast one, so we were a little hesitant at first. I knew almost immediately that John was for real. He asked where it was and went to work on the valve. After about 20 minutes, the problem was fixed. He also took the time to explain how everything worked with the system, as the whole thing looked pretty intimidating to someone like me who had grown up using a log fireplace. He explained what to do in an emergency and how long everything should last... not only that, he said that the boiler was in good working order and not to worry about replacement just yet.
We will continue to use Ryan for our future heating and plumbing as long as we're here. I will be asking specifically for John next time as well. He has earned our trust and was extremely patient, knowledgeable and sympathetic to our concerns. I hope management understands how valuable people like John are to their organization.
We will be recommending Ryan to our neighbors and friends. Thanks a ton!
