Friendly and fast, but miscommunication led to ...

Problem: Clogged kitchen sink

Scheduling: Easy to make appointment and was told would come the following morning at 9:30. 5 stars! I would be charged for hourly rate ($100 for first hour an per hour after that) and any replaced parts.

Day of: Called me to ask if could start early (5 stars again) while I was at work. I told him that key could be picked up from office at 8:30. He shows up a little after 8 and needs to wait. Leaves a message just past 10 when finishes. I come home and everything works great! 5 stars.

Billing: Charged for 2 hours, not 1.5 (minus 1 star). Additional charge ($80) for coming out to site (minus 1 star). Charged additional $50 for using a snake (minus 1 star).

Bottom line: Super friendly and efficient, but when it comes to the price and transparency, I'd rather not be caught off guard and paying double what I expected. I do appreciate the labor being charged as a commercial unit as this was a condo, but better off renting a decent snake and watching youtube for next time.

Huge waste of money and time! They have a fee for showing up at your door and then charge by the hour. Our assigned technician started the hourly charge while he was still sitting in his truck on our driveway. When he finally looked at the blocked gutter, he said he didn't have the right tools on the truck, asks us to reschedule and tries to charge us for the entire time he's on the phone with the office.

We experienced a catastrophic failure of our main sewer line and needed to have it replaced. Finding the right, experienced, team to do the job was very stressful, especially when looking at reviews since they are so subjective and many times only related to negative comments. While RV Carey's didn't have the best reviews, we were impressed with them during the contact and estimate phases, and decided to trust our gut. What a huge risk, that was worth every cent... and when you're talking about $10k, that's a lot of risk. The team showed up every day by 8am, ready to work. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and respectful. Not only did the replace the main sewer line and main water line, but they also restored the yard back to the condition it was prior to starting the job. In fact, we would probably argue that they left the yard in better condition than it was when they arrived. Choosing a contractor for such a big job and expensive is nerve-racking, but in this case RV Carey's deserves five stars. We would call them again without hesitation, and we highly recommend them to you.

Will send completely incompetent plumbers to your house who will lie about length of time worked to overbill you! Do not trust them!

Wanted my fridge water line hooked up and a clog in my bathroom cleared. Started the house call with a frown upon parking the truck, then I presume when he saw I was brown, started asking me if I owned my home.
Long story short, gave me tons of reasons why he could NOT hook up my fridge water line, after breaking off about 4ft of copper pipe, and then unclogged my drain.
$380 dollars later for an unclogged drain ONLY.. mind you, the labor alone was $350.
Next time, we will do our homework better before hiring a plumber.

I'm not sure why they get such low ratings. I had them out to my home on an emergency call and while that wasn't cheap, I wouldn't know what to do had they not come. No one else and I mean NO one else was available while I was bailing water from a rusted and then busted sink line. I called R.V. Carey's on a Friday night at 8:30 and not only did someone answer their emergency line, they dispatched Frank who responded promptly and in an hour from my call! Yes, it was expensive but then again what do you expect in a plumbing emergency?! It was worth it and I've already scheduled work with them again only this time it's a scheduled call. Today they came and again Frank responded. He was able to once more fix a problem and get us back in order. To me, they are as good as it gets!

I was charged for the initial estimate and was charged for the service and the labor. usually when you actually use the company that gave you an estimate the do not charge you twice. I was very disappointed when I talked to the manger and he was unwilling to work with me. The hot water repair ended up costing me a total of about $700.00 about 300 of which was labor cost and estimate after I had the work done. The technician was good and was able to complete the job, but the way I was charged and the managers handling of customer services was extremely poor. I will not use the again because of this.

We live in a condo; to do any plumbing work in our individual units here, we have to shut off water in a central location and thus have to schedule a time for the water to be turned off (so that we can give occupants notice that the water will be off). It takes less than five minutes for them to do the job, which is essentially turning a lever. They charge $160--$80 to come out and turn it off, and then 80 to come out and turn it back on. Fine. Here's the issue we had: we said water was to be shut off at 9. Their guy arrived at 8--too early, as per condo rules, and not the time we scheduled the appointment with them. He realized his mistake and left to come back at 9--but charged us for the 8:00 early arrival as well! Wanted $240 for the whole process. Manager Shawn wouldn't hear our explanation. These guys do a really lousy business.

I had a new dishwasher sitting in my kitchen that could not be installed due to a small protruding water pipe which blocked its insertion. Less than 2 hours after receiving our urgent phone call, Frank arrived and proceeded to reinstall the pipe under the sink instead. It involved drilling through a floor joist and also installing a new cut-off valve to replace a defective one. He then completed the dishwasher installation and fixed a leaky trap. When he left everything worked perfectly and our kitchen was spotless. Frank presented a very reasonable bill and was professional and very helpful throughout the call. I recommend him highly and plan to use R.V. Carey for any future plumbing problems.

Poor service, but charged high price. Do not call them to waste your money and time. They don't care their credit, just make money.
