""They're either completely incompetent or actual criminals!"" The Central A/C wasn't working at a tenants Hyannis condo. The tenant called Rusty's and said there was no rush. A service tech came out about a week later, charging $100 to show up and another $150 an hour to diagnose the issue which they said required a brand new system at a cost of $5565. My uncle a fireman who does HVAC on the side came down from off Cape just to confirm their analysis. 1st thing he did was check the capacitor. He replaced it in 5 minutes and the system works beautifully. His response- ""Anyone with 1/2 a brain would check that first, so they're either completely incompetent or actual criminals because it's now fixed with a $20 part."" From $5565 to $20 and a case of wine as a thank you!
When I mentioned it to a few contractors I deal with they basically stated... ""Oh yeah, those guys are as crooked as it gets."" AVOID at all COSTS... Or it will COST YOU big time!
J.J. B.We recently bought a home in South Yarmouth and discovered after closing that the heat wasn't coming out of the vents in the bedrooms. Being new to the area, we got separate recommendations from our realtor and our home inspector. Both of them recommended Rusty's, and they didn't disappoint. We had an appointment booked a few days out (it wasn't an emergency and that was our best availability). Our technician showed up on time, fixed the issue, and even helped install a smart thermostat that we had purchased in the meantime. Everyone we talked to was friendly, they communicated well and the pricing was reasonable and the invoice accurate. No issues here, we'll use them again when the need arises.
John P.Had a new Bosh boiler installed today. Crewed showed up on time, was very neat, and invoice was exactly as quoted. Crew was great and explained everything they were doing in a very clear fashion. Unit is super quiet. Have used Rustys for years, for central air, water heater and ductless splits. Highly recommend. Outstanding customer service with competitive pricing. 5 star !!
We bought our dream vacation home in W. Yarmouth a year ago. We contacted Rusty's and they could not have been nicer. They came out right away to replace a few toilets, take a look at some drains were a little clogged and to go over a few items that the home inspector found before we bought the place. Home inspectors like to make a long list of what needs to be done or should be done. Rusty's didn't take advantage of that and told us what should be done and what shouldn't be done. We're new to septic systems so they gave us great advice on what to do and what not to do. Zach is terrific and he helped with a new stove (turning off the gas for an electric stove), and a washer, dryer and fridge hook-up. Beth in the office is a dream to work with and is always helpful in setting up appointments. Just this week I had to call about some flies coming from a drain (gross, I know!). Corey was there on Wednesday and said I was the 10th person complaining about these pesky flies. He poured some drain cleaner down the drain and said the flies should be gone. He told me to keep in touch and let me know how it works. He called me after he visited to check in and about a half hour later he sent me an article about sewer flies. I love that the plumbers follow up with me by text or phone and take the extra time to let me know how the visit went, what they found, what they did and what I can/should do going forward. We're a new customer and we're incredibly impressed with their service and diligence to the issues that come up in our home. We feel like we are in good hands with Rusty's Plumbing and we couldn't be happier! We highly recommend Rusty's Plumbing for all your plumbing needs!!
I waited all day for the owner to show up to look at my broken furnace and provide me with an estimate he lied and said he came to my house and the door was opened so he just went in. I was home all day and my door was locked. I tried to talk to the 2 idiots in the office and the were rude and dismissive. I took the day off from work to be there to let the jackass in and he billed for a service call he did not make. The boy who calls himself the manager is a royal asshole he was yelling at me told not to call there again and hung up on me because I called to see when Mike was going to show up. Stay away they should be shut down!!!!
Mister Q.Rusty's was recommended by another plumber. Not having experience with them, I was initially concerned. Russ their service technician, met me in the driveway and we went to the ""mechanical room"" where the boiler, hot water, controls are stored.
It was clear from the beginning that Russ was highly experienced, effective in communications and articulated the investigative process to determine failure and the corrective actions being taken.
Within a very short period of time he was able to diagnose the problem and determine quickly the areas that needed to be corrected.
Within 2.5 hours the problem had been completely resolved with our boiler running flawlessly! Thanks to Russ for who you are and to Rusty's Morie Anne for the recommendation and for a job very well done. You have gained a new customer!
Two weeks before Christmas we were without heat, hot water, and a stove. Rusty's owner worked directly with us to ensure a new furnace in a timely manner as well as working with us in how to pay for this surprise. They provided support when dealing with the ridiculous frustrations of National Grid and came to our house three days in a row to ensure the job was complete. It is a little on the expensive side and we did have one miscommunication issue. But overall they saved our bacon and I am grateful.
Fred C.I don't as cut off by a car in the intersection tonight and the front end of my car was sticking out. The Rustys employee felt that it was in his best interest to yell at me angrily as he drove by. if this is the type of business you want to support that your own business I myself personally hope that this guy goes out of business soon because if that's the type of employees that he's going to employer if that's rusty himself the guy deserves to be out of business. If you want to patronize him it's on you.
2 no heat calls over the weekend with no call back till Monday morning. Said there was trouble with the answering service. No such thing as 24 hour emergency service.
Gael G.As I write I am still, 4 days later, waiting for a return call from the office manager at Rusty's. Back in December, my husband called to have our boiler cleaned. An appointment was scheduled and the technician arrived promptly. While I was washing dishes, I happened to notice that the service person was standing outside his truck talking on his cellphone. As I passed through the kitchen about 10 minutes later, he was still on the phone. Now I was paying attention and can verify that the service person spent way more time on his cell phone than he did working on our boiler during the entire service call.
My husband and I decided not to confront him and instead to wait and see what we were billed. We didn't receive a bill until early March, much later than expected. And, not surprisingly, the time for the labor was about twice the amount that is typical for a boiler cleaning.
Our experience with Rusty's has been very disappointing. Both the service technician and the office manager behaved in totally unprofessional ways and we will never use the company services again.
