Beware! I contacted Russell Plumbing & Heating to provide me a quote to fix a water hammer problem, i.e. excessive pressure, in my home; and to further quote the installation of a utility sink in my basement. An employee of Jim's arrived a half-hour or so late, maybe more. I'd already left home (late), got a call from my wife that he'd arrived and I had to turn around. When I got home, I spent maybe 15 minutes with the technician. He proceeded to tell me what I already knew (that I had too much pressure in the pipes), and advised that he'd be unable to fix it. Something about having to cut open walls, secure pipes, etc., all with no guaranteed fix. He performed no service. Nor did I expect any; it wasn't a service call. I then received a $150.00 bill, to my surprise. I thought it was an oversight and didn't pay it. After receiving a further bill, I e-mailed Jim to inquire (respectfully). What I got in return were statements like: ""Do you really think that any company is going to send a van and employee to your home whether its for a consultation or to perform work for no charge? I think not."" Followed by a threat that, if I didn't pay, he'd ""be forced to take this matter to small claims court."" (Both are exact quotes from the e-mail.) Needless to say, I will NOT be using Russell Plumbing & Heating again.

I have used Russell Plumbing and Heating for more than 17 years in three different homes. I continuously find Jim and company to be reliable, knowledgeable and fair in my dealings with them. From water heater replacements to installations of washer, dryers, gas fixtures and other plumbing installations and repairs I have never had a problem. Not once! My calls are returned, they are always courteous and respectful of my home and I work with their schedule to find a convenient time to get the small projects done. The big projects he tells me when he is available. Scheduling has to work both ways. You can not do better.

Female in home with children and dog. Felt VERY uncomfortable with this person around. He assured me he would let me know if he shut off my water, and today as I prepared to get in the shower for a job interview...no water. I ran out and asked the carpenter if he knew anything and he said ""Jim woud not shut the water off without telling you"". Um I have no water I said. He seemed perplexed. Mr. Russell also kept constantly being worried about my golden. ""Will she bite me"" he asked over and over again....Finally after assuring him many times I said ""only if I tell her to"". He looked alarmed and said ""oh that's nice"" as nasty as he could muster. I said ""I was joking"". As a female with kids and a dog I felt very uncomfortable around this person. Will not be recommending him or his counter parts.
