Cautionary Review for Ruma Plumbing Service, LLC

We recently had work done by Wael Thabet of Ruma Plumbing Service, LLC. While his workmanship in replacing a toilet in our home was satisfactory, we feel it's important to share concerns regarding pricing and transparency.

Following a surgery that makes it impossible for me to go upstairs, we needed a new toilet installed on the main level. Wael quoted $870 for the toilet replacement (including $72 for valve replacement) or $325 if we provided the toilet ourselves, plus $168 for the valve. Based on this pricing, we assumed he would replace our good-quality Kohler toilet with a similar model.

Unfortunately, that was not the case. The replacement was a basic model with a plastic seat--not comparable in quality to what was removed. To verify pricing, we researched comparable Kohler models online at Home Depot and Lowe's and found that even high-quality options cost significantly less than what we were charged.

Additionally, after completing this installation, Wael quoted $4,350 to replace five more toilets in our home with the same base model. This left us feeling that his pricing was artificially inflated, so we declined further services.

While his work was fine, we cannot recommend Ruma Plumbing Service, LLC due to concerns over pricing fairness and transparency. If you choose to work with him, we strongly advise getting detailed quotes and verifying costs independently.

I'm sharing this because I know a lot of people depend on these reviews when choosing contractors, and it's important to share not only glowing reviews but also the not-so-great experiences.
