I called RS Andrews to repair they older AC unit and also give me a quote for installing a new one. I had them call my tenant to schedule a time to come in and make the repair. They were very quick to come out to do the repair and actually came out on a Sunday without an extra service charge. The technician called me and said that the circuit breaker was bad and he would replace it. He gave me the price of $311, which I thought was pretty high but I needed to get it running. When the bill came through my credit card it was $600 plus dollars. When I questioned them they said fan did not run and had to replace a capacitor. An extra $300 is ridiculous.
I did receive a quote from them which was far in excess compared to others that I have had installed.
I would not recommend this company.
Absolutely disgusted with the service of this company. I had a brand new system installed two years ago and have had their men come to my home on multiple occasions to fix it for not running cool air. I've called to speak to a manager on separate occasions, got the run around and still have yet to have this issue resolved or even get the decency of a call back from said manager. We are currently dealing with no running AC in 90 degree weather because of this. Next step is calling the better business bureau. Their receptionist are condescending and offer lots of attitude and NO help. RS Andrews expectation is that if your system is two years old it's perfectly normal for it to die on you. Would would've thought!
Emerson H.So here is the story, we had our AC go out for the first time yesterday and I was like ""Well I know nothing about AC units so I need to call an HVAC person"". Then after he came and said it was the capacitor I was like okay he discovered and replaced the issue in about 5 minutes im like ""The bill can't be that bad"". Then he shows me the cost of the part and it was 311ish dollars. Then he said the service was 99 dollars. I'm like well damn, so I ran back inside went to the back where the AC unit was took a picture of what he put in, and saw it was $8.50 to buy online... So I ran back around and was like ""Sir please take that part out of my AC and put the old one back, we will be just paying for your services..."". Luckily I watched what he did and I went to Grainger and purchased 2 of them for 80 dollars since no one carries them in store. Didn't mind paying a little more for the convienience. We drove home put it in in like 5-10 mins and now our AC works again with a grand total of $180 dollars (And I have an extra capacitor just in case). When he almost charged us $411 dollars... RSAndrews HVAC charges 304 dollars more than what the part actually cost... Completely unethical in my opinion because if their customers only knew they would be furious..
Originally scheduled for an appointment on Friday, 3 May 2019 between 8-12 a.m. I received a call at 9:30 a.m. on the day of the appointment to inform me that due to a large volume of homes without AC that no technician was available to perform the scheduled service. We agreed to 7 May 2019 between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. At 8:35 the technician calls me to tell me that he will be at my home at 9:00 a.m.; that he's late because of his error and ""My bad"". Doesn't appear that professionalism, customer service, or efficiency are part of the RS Andrews mantra. Why do companies now believe that ""I'm sorry"" makes everything better....how much longer do they expect that customers will continue to pay to be inconvenienced? We adjust our schedules and get prepared for them to provide the timely, efficient, and effective service that we contracted for. Appears that there is a long history of this company performing services similar to that received by me. When I called the company office, I was informed that they would let the GM know....and on at least three occasions I was asked ""What is it that you want me to do? The answer is easy.....perform the services when and where they were promised for the price that was agreed to. If you can't do that then you need to get out of the business.
Had this company install a unit may of 17th, came out to fix leaking copper pipe and re fill freon. Clearly indicating the system was broke instead they by passed the issue. Now it's completely broke and they want me to pay 1579 for labor to fix the system that cost 1500 just a year ago. Knowing they should of fixed to begin with they came out to fix it sending the manager Drew. He got up mid conversation walked out and told the technician to put everything back in the van and leave. I HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHO IS SWEATING LIKE CRAZY BECAUSE OF YOUR COMPANY. Not tolerated. VERY unprofessional. Technician is nice and works, but the business side of this is a SCAM
I should've looked at Yelp before I booked my appointment with this company. Gave my name address phone number, and all the information they needed just to come out and do a service check on my unit. Took the whole morning off because my appointment was between 8 and 12 PM. Needless to say, when I called when they did not show up they said it was an error on their part and that they had the information for the previous owner of the house in their system. Did I mention I had to give my name and my phone number? If you can't get the scheduling right, I don't think I want you working on my gas furnace and air conditioner
There customer service is absolutely horrible. I have been dealing with them for over a year now. I'm on my second unit in less than two years and still have nothing but problems. Not only their equipment but there customer service is just as horrible. I'm warning you to stay away from this company and take your business somewhere else.
Be on the lookout for the latest scam from R.S. Andrews. We have been on their semi-annual maintenance schedule since the heat pump was installed in our house 2014. The maintenance was always in May and November however they tested us by attempting to schedule an appointment two months early in March. Very sneaky. By doing this they can get more money out of their customers.
On June 18th 2018 I had a salesman come out and give me a quote for a new HVAC system. On June 20th 2018 the installers came out and installed the new unit. From day one things have not been right half of my air handler parts were not even here for them to install so it was half completed I had to wait for them to order the rest of the parts and come back out to put them in. Today is November 16th 2018 and I have had nothing but multiple problems with this unit, I lost count after service call #7. I am constantly calling the company and having a service Tech come out to take care of the issue for them to say everything's good to go and then they leave give it a few days or weeks and I'm calling them again I cannot tell you how many times I have called to try to get this fixed. Today the 16th of November they're supposed to be here to install a TXV on my unit which was not ordered in the 1st place and that is one of the reasons why the units not working correctly my appointment time was at 12 noon it is to 2:21 and I am still waiting for the service Tech to show up. I highly do not recommend them to come and install or do any service work to your HVAC systems it has been a nightmare for my husband and I ever since June 20th. Not happy customers!
Matthew P.Mixed experience, but would not recommend to anyone. The install of the new HVAC unit went well and the installers were very professional. That's where it ended. The Nest thermostat just didn't work, it was all over the place on managing the temp and scheduling. We had a basic thermostat installed 08/18 by a technician who was doing scheduled maintenance on the new system, they spent nearly 3 hours in our house being spoon fed on how to do their job via phone-a-friend. As soon as we started using the heat, it went full afterburner and would not shut off until I secured the system via thermostat. We called R.S. Andrews and they told us they would come out, but they had to charge a $99 service fee. After we decided that was a ridiculous concept since they installed faulty equipment, and since we had spent a hefty sum of money on the new system, we requested a manager contact us. That didn't happen. Ultimately, I spent $80 on a new thermostat and installed it myself...and it works just fine now. R.S. Andrews just lost someone who could have been a loyal customer.
