We originally hired these guys to do a couple of small jobs after having read some good reviews on Angie's List, and we now regret it. We asked them to remove and replace a piece of drywall in our son's room that had water damage, and then to remove and replace a small slab of broken cement by our backdoor. First of all, they didn't remove the drywall, but instead slapped some spackle over it and said that there was no mold. But I don't know how you would know that there was no mold if you don't cut into the drywall. And now that we've realized that these guys don't know what they're doing, we'll have to get someone else to do the job.

Second, for the cement, they didn't come prepared and claimed that they didn't know that we wanted it replaced - they thought they were just supposed to fill in the cracks. So they made an appointment to return with the proper materials (and were an hour late) and replaced the old piece of cement with a totally different kind of concrete that was extremely ugly. My husband said that he didn't like the way it looked, but one of the guys said that it would be better that way because it would be stronger. Because my husband could see that their work was sloppy and amateurish, he didn't ask them to redo it. He just paid them their $275 fee because he didn't want to have a conflict with two strangers in our house. After they left, my husband immediately dug out the concrete before it dried, went to buy the correct kind of cement and redid it himself. In the process he discovered that they had spilled concrete all over our patio furniture and didn't clean it up.

Afterwards we decided to ask them for a partial refund - we wanted to pay them for their time and the materials, but did not think the fee for a crappy job, which ruined our patio furniture, was fair. They did not respond to my husband's messages, so the next day I called and spoke to one of the guys. Instead of saying ""I'm sorry that you weren't happy with the job,"" he became argumentative with me. I told him that I used to have a business and if a customer wasn't happy, I would always offer something to make up for it - a partial refund or a credit. That's considered good business practice, especially when you're first starting and trying to build up a reputation. Instead he hung up on me and has not returned my messages requesting a receipt. Not exactly my idea of ""serving customers with respect.""

If you just want someone to install your AC and assemble a piece of furniture, like the previous reviewer, they can probably handle that. But if you're a homeowner who wants their home to be treated with care and respect, these guys are not for you.

This handyman service was by far the most affordable in the area and my handyman Richie was super helpful in setting up my bed and installing AC. He even provided constructive feedback on my furniture placement. I would definitely call him again if I need another handyman job.
