I called Roy's Sewer Service and they had Tim at my door in under two hours, much to my relief. He was fast, friendly and did a great job which included his clean up of the area. This is our first sewer call to Roy's but will not be our last (those roots just keep growing). Do not hesitate to make your call!

We had Roy's crew come out and empty our septic tank. The work was fine, but I have a problem with their billing/business practices. When I booked the work I was told that they had to send a technician at $170 an hour along with the truck and driver which was $650.

The two of them were here for 2.5 hours and when the technician handed me his bill he told me that he had added an additional half hour of his time so that he could accompany the driver to go to dump the truck. I misunderstood and thought he was telling me that he was adding a half hour to the first two hours he was there for a total of 2.5 hours. Not being clear on it I went ahead and paid him for what turned out to be 3 hours of his time. He had written on the invoice that he was on site for 3 hours, which was not true.

When I called the company to ask that they refund the extra half hour I was billed for their technician to go with the driver to dump the truck the lady on the phone just wanted to argue with me. She was quite rude and refused to refund the 1/2 hour of time. In fact, she suggested they should have charged me more for the distance they had to travel for the job.

They did good work, but avoid them for their shady business practices.

Had a problem free outcome to a mess that popped up on the radar just this morning. Ended up making 5-6 calls with no one able to help me today except for Roy's. Their great service started with the initial phone call to a prompt call back with assurances that they would get to me today and they did. Aaron provided efficient, friendly service. His vehicle appeared newer and well maintained. Finally their fee was as good or better than any of the quotes I obtained. All that equals 5 stars in my book plus one of the few reviews I've done and I use Yelp a lot.

I contacted Roy's for a sewer back up issue. They we're able to send Tim the same day. Tim was able to correct the problem systematically, efficiently and in a timely manner. Great service! I've used their services since 1988.

We have been using Roy's for at least 40 years, since we moved to Novato. They have always been excellent: Prompt, friendly, creative, and willing to go the extra mile. Last night two trucks showed up at 4:30, in response to a septic tank failure, and those guys worked fast and hard -- and cheerfully -- to try to solve the problem and get us up and running. As it turned out, they could not provide the construction that the system needs, but they did everything they could, and were a pleasure to work with. The dispatchers are pleasant and actually do call back when they say they will.

Curtis arrived right on time, as per the info from the dispatcher. He was also very helpful in explaining the problem and potential solutions for a complicated drainage issue. I would definitely recommend Roy's Sewer Service and Curtis, in particular.

I am beyond disappointed in this company. They used to be reliable and I used them for years. All I needed was a drain clean out and I started trying to get them out last Thursday. It is now Monday afternoon and they now tell me they can not do this today. I ended up calling someone else - they will be out tomorrow morning. I will NEVER call Roy's again.
I am now in far worse shape, plumbing wise, and I do not appreciate being strung along. Especially if you are in Novato, I would use Reggie's Reliable Plumbing or John Gleason Plumbing.

Just had my sewer line cleaned out and had a professional,fast, clean service
I recommend to have Roy's sewer service to have your line cleaned out & checked.
I've seen what happens with out a clean out & the $$ it costs of replacing the whole line. Roy's sewer saved me $$ and gave me no worries for 2 years

Great service! Needed a vertical line to the sewer cleared as we had a blockage and the house could not use any fixtures or toilets without major overflow (gross!). We called the night before and they arrived on site the next day on time, cleared the line, did some other checks, and the price was very fair. I felt a level of trust as they worked very hard to resolve the problem, ask questions to avoid future issues and then they were off without trying to find other angles for charges. Highly recommended.

This guy was GREAT.

The line from the kitchen was blocked all the way to the sewer; this happens around once per year. Usually a plumber just comes, power snakes it out, and splits. This guy, Tim, also:

1. Explained why it happens every year, and how to prevent it from happening again.

2. Told me why it probably was that it's clogged again after only 4 months since it was last cleared (most likely the last plumber snaked until it drained, then stopped, instead of continuing to snake until the entire line was cleared).

3. Had time left on his hour, so went into the bathroom, checked everything in there, pulled out the sink drain/stopper mechanism and cleaned all the gunk out of there, and cleaned out the holes in the toilet where the water comes out, because some of them were clogged.

The lady on the phone was kind of abrupt and snotty, but the plumber came as promised, the same day, and didn't try to upsell me on anything. I highly recommend this firm, and this employee Tim in particular.
