Roy's Sewer Service
Company Overview
Our plumbing experts go the extra mile to unclog your drains. We have established being the top clog removal service for difficult tasks.
Roy began and a basic truck and a sewer machine.
Over time, we have expanded our services and added specialized vehicles to our fleet. Currently, we utilize a diverse fleet of vehicles for unclogging, pumping septic tanks, rodding trucks for removing roots from sewer lines, camera inspection vehicles for assessing pipes from 6 inches to 48 inches, lateral launching CCTV trucks for checking laterals from the city sewer main, and Vactor combination trucks for hydro-flushing and clearing debris.
My Grandfather established Roy's Sewer Service in 1968 with my Grandmother. Together, they developed a business that has survived the test of time and established itself as the preferred sewer and drain cleaning for property owners, commercial clients, and local governments. I studied at Sonoma State University and served as an accountant in the hospitality field before entering the family business in 2012. In the year 2020, I secured my contractor certification.
I am active in the field operating our camera and cleaning trucks, cleaning and assessing sewer systems. The office is run by my grandmother manages the business operations, my Dad supervises the service teams, and my Husband takes care of the pumping of septic tanks, drain cleaning, camera inspections, and operating heavy machinery.
We are proud to be a family-owned business. If you have any questions about our work, don’t hesitate to call the office and speak with me, or drop me a line at [email protected].

On Saturday, Easter weekend, when everyone else is closed Roy's came through. Quickly arrived on the scene, assessed the problem and resolved it right away. Extremely efficient at a reasonable price. Thanks Pearl!

I have NEVER been motivated to submit a review on Yelp - until now! We try to support local small businesses. We have been using Roy's Sewer Service for 18 years on two homes we own in Marin. One is an older home that requires a clean-out every 6 months. The other home has new pipes and has not required the same routine maintenance.
The home with the newer pipes (less than 5 years) recently backed up so I immediately called Roy's. They were quick to respond (as usual) sending out someone the next day. We were told that he found toilet paper blockage. We paid in full at the time of service.
Less than 48 hours later - our sewer line was backing up AGAIN. We immediately called Roy's but it was 2pm the afternoon of Halloween and no one was picking up. After leaving 3 messages, we were forced to call another company who sent out someone out to fix the problem at an additional after-hours cost of $288.
The next day, we finally reached Wendy at Roy's who claimed to be the manager. We informed her of the situation expecting Roy's would stand behind their work - they DID NOT! She was extremely rude - stating that we likely used too much toilet paper, our pipes are too old (the pipes are less than 5 years old), suggested we change the brand of toilet paper we use, stated they offer NO guarantees. Becoming more and more frustrated with the conversation I asked if I could speak to the manager. She stated, ""I am the manager"", and hung up! I called back and asked for the owners name and number and she hung up on me again.
November 5th, I called one more time and spoke with a women named Nicole. I explain to her what had happened and she said, I would have to resolve it with Wendy. I asked for the owner and she said, she would have him call me back. He never did and I don't think he ever received the message.
I would expect that after 18 years of faithful business support - Roy's would stand behind their work. It saddens me!
If I was the owner of this company I would not employee Wendy. We will never use Roy's Sewer Service again.

I am very disappointed in Roy's. I have used them in the past and had a good experience but today they dropped the ball big time and wasted my day waiting around for a call from the ""expert"" who never bothered to call back to inform me that my issue was a ""plumbing"" issue not a sewer issue. That may or may not be the issue with my sink, but we won't know now until we can get an actual ""plumber"" out here. Miscommunication, no follow-up, and ill-trained dispatchers. Be sure you stay on top of these guys or run the risk of them wasting your day too! If they had been professional I would have had time to get someone out today who may have been able to help me.....sadly, I will now have to take another day off work to deal with this. Get it together you guys-your customers deserve better!

I have been using Roy's for almost 20 years business and residential. We recently moved to the East Coast but we kept our home in Marin Sure enough our home in Marin needed a drain cleared. We called a local plumber in Fairfax who told me it was a major construction job and then I remembered about Roy's sewer service they took care of it in less than a half an hour. Rays wife and I chatted for 15 or 20 minutes so she understood my problem and they took care of everything just the best

I had an emergency situation with my RELATIVES downstairs - raw sewage under the house. These guys were there pronto on a weekend and stabilized the problem. Highly recommended.

I would not even give them one star.
Any company that pulls off a job before starting because they forgot to brings tarps (a request made at time of scheduling - which was a 3 week wait - and this client was not told that the request for tarps was too demanding at time of scheduling) simply defies description and should not even receive one star.
Please don't even call them.

On Sunday I could smell a sewage odor in the bathroom I had just renovated in the law office in my rental property in San Rafael. I called Roy's at 7 a.m. on Monday morning thinking I would get a voice mail that would tell me what the operating hours were. Instead I spoke to a very nice woman who said she would call me back before Noon to let me know when someone could come to take care of the problem. At 8 a.m. she called back to tell me that Jason and his trainee were on their way from Novato. I had terrible traffic getting to San Rafael (I live in Novato) and met them at the building. Not only did Jason allay my fears that something terrible was wrong but gave me a quick lesson in how to maintain my drain in the shower and then had his trainee check the entire drainage system out to the curb while he showed me how the system works. I was very, very impressed with Jason and his trainee (whose name I didn't catch) and cannot praise them, their professionalism, their caring attitude and obvious expertise enough. Thank you, Roy's Sewer Service for making me happy and a loyal customer. I will call next September for what will be my first yearly check up. Sarah Ryan

We have used Roy's for years now and have always been impressed by the promptness of service, courteousness of the employees and their reasonable prices.

Bad review. To their credit they came the day called and did not charge me for the 2 guys the dispatcher insisted I have. But after they left I realized the seal on the toilet had not been replaced which is where the water was pouring out of.
I called the company and the woman who answered was argumentative, said she would speak to a plumber and get back to me. She did not. I called back 2 days later. She gave me the same run around. I asked if she was a plumber. She is not. I asked who the owner of the company is. She refused to tell me. I called back and she said she had to many calls to answer my question. So I now have a toilet with no seal on it.
They are not accountable

I dealt with a plumbing issue. When flushing the toilet the water would clog and pour out of the shower. Called a plumber who told me I needed to find a sewage company since they specialize in these kinds of things. I called Roy's in the morning, and they were able to come in the afternoon that day. They couldn't give me an exact time though, but they did call when they got there. One hour and $300 later, everything was done. They had the situation cleared up and they were on their way. They took all the stress out of trying to fix it myself, and I will definitely call them again if this ever happens again. These guys are professionals, know what to do, do the job, and get it done quickly and professionally.
