Royal Mechanical Services, Ltd. (RMS) originated as a branch of Royal Home Protection, a company under Electronic Realty Associates, LP (ERA). Royal Home Protection, Inc. began its journey in 1972 and quickly became a pioneer in home warranty and protection. A significant advantage was ERA's vast, tailored database, allowing real-time data analysis for improved decision-making, empowering the company to be proactive.

In December 1993, Tom and Charlene Shyver purchased Royal Mechanical Services from ERA and formed the firm. Tom was instrumental in the early achievements of Royal under the parent firm and recognized a way to connect customers to locations via technology while maintaining a strategy of interpersonal communication. By staying committed to this approach, the couple steered the business in a way that built and reinforced customer connections. This database ultimately evolved into our RAZOR facilities management system.

For the initial three years following its revival, the Shyver family ran the business from a home office. As the clientele increased and the brand solidified, more family members joined the team. Shortly after, it was time to seek out office space and they moved into a small office suite alongside a veterinarian.
