I had a thermal expansion valve replaced on our AC, it cost $1,174! This is outrageous! I would never recommend or use this company again.

I hate that I have to share our experience on many levels, this has been emotionally and financially stressful for our family. We have a Navien on-demand water heater that needed services. Navien sent us to Royal as the ""preferred service provider"" for our area, two technicians came into our house, and said our water heater was a ""ticking time bomb"", we could ""die of CO2 poisoning"" and that our ""house could burn down at any minute"". The fix was $9000 that needed to be paid right then. We questioned this, it felt like a scam, but they were the ""preferred service provider"" and we needed the safety for our young family. After the install, things didn't feel right, we called around getting quotes. For the same service we were quoted $1500 in parts plus labor totalling $2300 - $3900. Immediately we called Royal, they gaslighted us and told us that this was the ""going rate"" (not for our area), that we were just having buyers remorse (no shit sherlock) and that we should have gone with another company (you bet you we will). They offered $1200 to remedy the price gouging, they will need to reimburse more than that to keep me from reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and Navian directly. Do your due diligence before your let this company into your home. We are regretful we went with Royal, and only went with them because of the crap referral from Navien and because of the duress they caused me and my family.

We had our 2 water heaters go out and we talked to Ben and he suggested that we put in a tankless water heater we did and we love it. Thank you Ben for prompt service in getting or hot water back on. Ben was very personal and knew what he was doing and cleaned up after he was done. I would recommend him to others.

Scheduled ROYAL for a fireplace repair and HVAC tune up. The guys that showed up knew nothing about fireplaces and said it would be another service call $$ for the fireplaces. They did go in the attic to look at why we did not have much flow. They came down and said it all looked fine and the fan was turned all the way up. I went up a week later to run some electrical and discovered the vent coming out of the unit was not even connected and had been blowing hot air into the attic since ROYAL installed it a couple years ago.
So they screwed me three times.
1. Had to pay someone else to fix the fireplace (that ROYAL installed)
2. Paid ROYAL for a tune up that they did not actually do, and they totally ignored the vent into the attic right in front of their face.
3. Paid them to do the HVAC system in the first place that they never completed.
ALL I WANTED WAS A REFUND OF THE TUNE UP .... THEY DID NOT EVEN ACTUALLY DO!
I sent a polite email to the owner, and he was not even professional enough to respond.

The price of the water heater I had installed is under $900. Yet they charged me $3050 for it and installation. The installation took less than 3 hours. This is highway robbery! The employees sent were very friendly, that's why they get 2 stars instead of 1.

Our AC unit went out this year on the 4th of July & Royal came to our rescue! They provided us a temporary unit to get us through a couple of days until our new unit could be installed. The entire process was explained to us in advance and we found them to be knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The job was timely and went as expected with no surprises.
From beginning to end, the sales, service and office staff made for a pleasant experience. We confidently recommend Royal Plumbing, Heating & Air.

Royal did us right! Carmen got us scheduled quickly and had great communication to let us know when our plumber would arrive. I had a sink, toilet and shower that all needed attention. Two of the problems were fixed immediately and the third required a part. The return visit went just as well. Travis is skilled and personable. Thank you Royal! We'll definitely use you in the future.

We recently replaced a furnace and A/C and had a water heater removed. The team at Royal was awesome during the whole process! Great communication, stellar work and great people made this a great experience! We had a visit and a quote from Mountain Air and they were super expensive and not very friendly. Royal delivered high quality work and products at a very reasonable price! Highly recommend!!

Our water heater blew at about 2 in the afternoon. We had to use our home warranty and they told us someone would be in touch within 24 hours... we were worried we wouldn't have a water heater for days.
Royal got back to us within an hour, had us scheduled for the next day. They ended up coming the next morning.
Nate did the work, was super thorough, friendly enough and it's been a few weeks and everything is working fine.
The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is a little damage was done to the wall outside the space, but it was a tight spot so I'm not to surprised.

WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
We decided to use Royal for our HVAC for our basement we are finishing. The sales guy came out and explained what their company would do and at the time it sounded good. We set up the appointment and waited for them to arrive on the set date.
Problem #1- we waited all day for them to show up and they never did. We finally called them and they said that they would need to come the next day. We were patient with them and were ok with them coming the next day. Although a little frustrated with them never calling and making us wait around all day for them to never show up.
Problem #2- when they finally arrived the installers had no clue what the sales guy had quoted us for. There was compete lack of communication between them. They were in and out in less than 3 hours. When they showed us the work they had done, I asked them why they used duct tape for a few areas to seal. Their response was that it is what they use. I also asked why non of the runs were sealed and they said they don't need to be. Also, I asked them why they charged us $450 to cut two holes in an existing vent for the return. I explained that the sales guy had said they would put panels down the wall for the return. The installers response was that their way of doing it was not the same as what the sales guy had said. I was confused and hesitant to pay them. I asked for him to call the sales guy and find out but we never heard back from him until I emailed him about the problems and he called later that day. The installers got their money and left immediately.
Problem #3- we discovered that the run in the bathroom was directly over the toilet and it needed to be over the vanity. I called Royal to have them come move it back a few feet. When speaking to the sales guy, he was rude and blamed my husband for telling them to install it there. They were not quick to come fix the problem. I told him that regardless of who said what that it needs to be moved to the right location. I was so frustrated at their horrible response and that they were pointing fingers at us. He said they would call us the next day, after a week went by and nobody calling us I finally called their office. They reluctantly sent someone out to move it back. Not sure why they think we told them to put it over the toilet. The pipe for the toilet never moved and it was installed over it.
Problem #4- we were so upset about the horrible work and service that was given by Royal that we called another HVAC company to come look at it and also see about another project we wanted done. When they came out they discovered and told us that the work Royal did would never pass code. He said that you cannot use duct tape and that none of the runs were sealed and they were leaking tons of air out. Royal had turned the runs with the part that needs to be sealed facing up towards the ceiling so you can't see that it was not sealed. None of the joints were sealed. They did the returns wrong. They turned our amazing system installed by High Country when our house was built into crap that leaks air. I was so upset that Royal did a job that I paid for that can't pass inspection. We are novice at this so that is why we hired a company to help us and they took complete advantage of us. We had to hire another company to come and fix all the runs and returns and seal them properly to pass the inspection.
Problem #5- we had the city inspection yesterday and showed him the pictures of what Royal did and didn't do and he said that their work would not pass.
I am so frustrated that Royal would take complete advantage of us and take our money and not hesitate. Do Not Use Them for any job. They are dishonest and their work is horrible. If you want quality work that can pass code this is NOT the company to use.
