Recommended Customer Reviews
I just used Royal Class Service for the purchase and install of a NEW gas combi unit. I actually got a few estimates and the truth was that Royal Class came in at give or take a few hundred dollars within the same pall bark as the rest. HOWEVER, Matt (the owner) was the one who made the first impression which was a very good one with his professionalism and knowledge. His team of installers have all been very respectful of my home with white glove service, and the installation went very smoothly might I add it almost looks like artwork with all the cooper pipes, etc. The same holds true for his office staff, Diane in particular who is very professional, sharp, quick and efficient. Needless to say I am VERY happy with the level of service and work they have done thus far. In reading all of the reviews below its of course of concern, but based on my most recent experience and only that experience thus far, I can honestly write I am very happy with Royal Class Service. My hopes are that continues to be the same for a long working relationship. However, I feel its important as a consumer to do your due diligence and always get quotes from various providers. For that reason, I feel that anyone complaining about paying RCS a higher cost is truly on them... I know speaking for myself, business is business and I will go where I will get the service I want for the pricing I feel is fair and appropriate.
I will never use Royal Class again nor will I recommend this company again. I spent over $17,000.00 to have two units installed. after a couple of days, we contacted the company because the way they installed one of the units caused a loud sound when the air blew out. Royal Class stated that it was because we now had a stronger unit and wanted another $2,000+ to get rid of the sound! And here's the kicker: we were told by the company that if they had known about the sound before they installed the unit, it would have been taken care of at no additional charge. My family and I now have to live with a loud a/c.
Unbelievabl.
I recently had a water softener and whole house water filter installed by the Royal Class Service team. Craig and Justin arrived on time and reviewed with me where to place the water softener and explained the steps to be taken before installation was done. Their work was meticulous, my basement was left spotless and then explained to me the workings of the softener. They even provided me with the salt for the softener. The unit has been working perfectly, I no longer have spots on dishes, I have lots of lather and my clothes no longer smell like they were washed in a pond. Thank you Royal Class Service for your amazing work. Next up ... they are coming to tune up my heating system to ensure I am ready for winter. Definitely a LOCAL company I would recommend.
Used Royal for years. They told me my System 2000 boiler was failing and dangerous. They gave me a replacement estimate of around $18,000. I got a local, well-regarded contractor to look at the System 2000. He said they had never serviced the system anywhere near adequately. He said there was no need to replace the system. He also said they had left the emergency switch off which was extremely dangerous. He shook his head and said ""it's guys like this that give heating contractors a bad name."" I tried contacting them a few times and never received replies. I generally don't like to post bad reviews, but I feel the need to protect people here. Stay away.
I've always seen the service trucks on the road and remembered the Royal Class name when my A/C stopped working on a 83 degree day. I live in a colonial, so the second floor gets hot, if we don't run the AC it is so uncomfortable we don't get a great nights sleep, and my wife and our brand new puppy keep me up. When I called the office, I received a professional greeting from Liz and was transferred to the service manager Scott. It was like I had been a customer for many years, but this was my first call to Royal Class service. From the time I got onto the phone to the time the tech arrived was no longer than 3 to 4 hours. Ryan was thorough, professional, organized, clean and even wore booties in the house. He stayed until the problem was fixed and gave me a follow up call that evening. I couldn't have asked for a better experience during a frustrating time with a Family and a puppy who just needs to-be COOLED off. Thank you again for all you did and I'll see you on the next service which is scheduled. Congrats to the entire team for doing the right thing and giving me faith in local contractors.
Respectfully,
Scott & Tara
Wow... Seems like the same story over and over. When I first used Royal I have to say I was quite impressed with their level of service and how professional they seemed. That soon changed after there was an issue with a maintenance plan. I paid for a ma?intenance plan but never received all my maintenances. When I called they told me I didn't have one. I told them I never received my services that I prepaid for. Regardless long story short, one thing led to another and things just didn't sit well with me. We renovate homes and I've called them twice for estimates twice they came in 30% higher than anybody else. Needless to say I didn't use them. Business is business. Today I go to turn my air conditioner on and I noticed it's not working so I called Royal because they are the only company that has ever serviced the unit. The woman on the phone? ?was ?very professional. She offered me an appt next Tuesday but said she wanted to get me in sooner and would call me right back with an earlier appointment. She called me back and told me she had made a mistake she couldn't get me in for 2 weeks! ""But would be more than happy to give us the number of another company that could possibly service the unit"" CLEARLY Matt the owner has not forgotten that I did not use him for the two projects he had given me estimates on. The ones he was 30% higher on. I've been in business a long time and any good business person knows business is business and you shouldn't hold one thing against the other. Matt would have had all my business had he been c?ompetitive and not greedy. I guess he thinks he's showing me now by not servicing my air conditioning unit. That's okay I have many other people I can call. And hundreds of people I will no longer recommend him to. Shame.
Dave Q.Similar experience as others mentioned for Royal Class Service. They charge a high fee just to come and look, which kind of locks you into them unless you want to throw away the service fee. Then they charge very high prices to complete the job. Not recommended.
I first used Royal Class in the Spring of 2019 for annual maintenance on a year old A/C Unit. When the tech finished he pulled out the ""Royal Class Tablet"". This is a tablet all the techs carry that shows parts, costs & calculates the cost of the job done that day.
He proceeded to tell me that the unit had a lot of issues.Everything he explained was very technical & costly. He kept showing me parts I on the tablet knew nothing about.
My fiancé happened to come home while he was explaining all the issues to me. My fiancé had worked in construction for years, so once he started asking questions the whole tone of the conversation changed. What was a major problem was now not a very big problem at all. All those expensive, important issues were almost all gone after a conversation with some who had a some experience!
Since I had already paid for my heating service I had them back in the winter. My heating system was only a year old as well. We had a different tech. He suggested they test my water. A few days later I get a call telling me there's some issues with my water and they are suggesting installing a $3500 water softener which I could not afford. They talked me into installing a small filter near the heating system. They told me the manufacturer would ""not even consider"" honoring any warrantees if there was no filter for the system. I paid $350 for them to add an extra pipe with a valve and a disposable filter.
I'm not even sure that's true about the warranty.
Due to the pandemic in 2020 I thought it would just be easiest to use them again. They did both services during the year. They didn't try to sell me anything!
In 2021 I had them service the A/C. This tech said he was new to the company but had been in the field for years. He was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. He told me he felt the tech that serviced it the year before didn't do a proper job based on how dirty it was. He went outside to check the gas/fluid. He told me it was a little low, it needed about 2lbs & it would be $250 to fill it up. I ok'd it. After finishing he enters his work into the ""Royal Class Tablet"" to give the final cost. He looks at me and says ""I'm really sorry but it seems like they charge $450 for the coolant"". He pulled up a website on his personal phone showing me the average cost per pound, the calculations were under $250. He even texted a friend who worked in cooling asking the cost, he came replied with an amount under $250.
It cost me $700 for them to do annual service and add fluids.
The next day I called the main office to ask for a breakdown of the costs to be sure the tech didn't enter a wrong amount of pounds by mistake. The person I spoke to refused to provide me that information. They told me they cannot give me those individual costs, just the total cost of the visit. What?
He offered a $75 discount for a FUTURE service. I said I'd prefer to know exactly what I paid for. Still a no. I told him to ask the owner. He said he would and assured a callback the next day. I never heard from them again. That was months ago. Why doesn't a customer deserve to know exactly what are paying for unless you're hiding something. Final red flag!
Today I was in my basement where the boiler is located & noticed there is a huge sticker on the unit. The sticker tells you to STOP and call a number because the system still ""may be under warranty"". Feeling like I hadn't seen the sticker when the unit was installed, I google searched the number. The number is for Royal Class! This made me furious. They put their own personal sticker on MY heating unit making it seem like it's from the manufacturer. They didn't even install it!!
Why? Because If I ever sold my home and the new owner had an issue with the unit they would call thinking they're calling the manufacturer when they're actually calling Royal Class. How sneaky and deceitful!
Customers are dollar signs to them and they will do whatever they can to get those dollars. I don't care about the good reviews. The good reviews are from people that don't realize how badly they're getting ripped off.
installed a navien water heater - heat exchanger leaked after 16 months royal class gave me a 1,952.07 to replace it didit myself less than two hours there pricing is just wrong
I called them to install the flapper and valve control on a Kohler dual flush toilet. My regular plumber was not familiar with this job.Kohler had supplied me with the replacement parts at my expense. The technician came on time and performed the service in 1 hour and 15 minutes start to finish. He did not have to supply parts.I asked how much was the bill.He said he does not get paid hourly but used his laptop from Royal services to find the price which with a senior discount and a $99 service charge came to $443.
I felt this was exorbitant.I paid them by check.
When Royal class texted me on how I liked the service I called them. They felt comfortable with a $443 bill ,no parts.
Wow! Next time I'll just buy a new toilet.
