The customer service was good - to the people I spoke with to schedule the appointment to the plumber. The plumber attempted to do all the right steps to correct the problem but the issue came with corroded threads which would require cleaning -- with a tool Roto-Rooter does not have. This was not the only issue but one that he would have liked to have tried to help alleviate my floor drain backup. The plumber provided some other options. I am disappointed Roto Rooter does not have the equipment to assist with the other problem. As a consumer you have full faith a well-known franchise would be equipped. For a $260 visit, I learned I had a problem, they could not fix and here are some McGavyer options. I also learned when I sell my house to be more open with the next buyer of the floor drain set up.

Fantastic, fast, professional service, and on a Sunday, no less. I was house-sitting and managed to be there the day the garbage disposer finally got clogged. The friendly technician fixed the problem and also identified two other issues and fixed those, too. It was a huge relief having this taken care of before the homeowners got home so they didn't have to deal with it.

Came out to clear a clogged drain; which was accomplished, but he didn't have a camera to diagnose the problem, so I'll have to spend more for another call. They made it right by coming out with the camera for no charge and FINALLY have the issue diagnosed.

Called Roto-Rooter after I got an exceedingly high and suspect quote from a competitor. I should have just called them to begin with. Dispatch was friendly and knowledgeable - even the operator knew that what I needed was NOT what their competitor quoted me! She was so friendly and reassuring. She assigned me a service window of the next two hours. As soon as I hung up with her, I got a phone call saying a plumber was on the way. Fred arrived and was clean, honest and courteous. The job that was deemed ""un fixable"" by a competitor was handled within 1/2 hour for half the price. I could not be happier with my experience. This is the second time I have used Roto Rooter, and I am completely happy with them all over again. Loyal customer for life. Thanks!

I knock off one star for the price, but they do say you get what you pay for. I went with Roto-Rooter because they are a trusted name. Bill was at my house early, quickly saw the issue and gave me a quote. He did give me an option to do something that would cost less, but completely replacing the pipe in question will keep me from calling someone else out later.
He did a great job, cleaned up his area when he was done, and was very pleasant. I would definitely call them again (and hope to get Bill).

Our plumbing issue left us without a kitchen sink on a Saturday. After having a general contractor over we realized that the clog was in the pipe down in the basement and it was beyond his ability to fix it. He suggested we call Roto-Rooter and we are glad we did. The technician came an hour after our call and cleared our drain. We have a six month warranty on the work he did. For a Saturday 8:30 pm service call I'd say the price was very fair. The tech also left us with an enzyme to pour down our drains once a month in order to prevent this type of build up. We are very happy with this plumber. I hope we don't need a plumber again but if/when we do we will call you back.

It's everyone's worst nightmare... the basement sewer backed up!! The fact that it happened the day AFTER move in (there were clothes to wash and showers to take) wasn't helping!!

A panicked call to the Roto-Rooter folks assured us that someone would be there within the hour (they were!) and that the issue would be quickly resolved (it was!).

The St. Paul Roto-Rooter service agent was professional and responsive. After analyzing the situation he proposed two courses of action... both of which made complete sense. He also offered a discount on the fee of the second service (I took advantage of the discount).

Within 90 minute window the work was done! The service agent answered a few more of my questions and left us with a gallon of pipe cleaner to help maintain the work he'd completed.

I have to admit, the price I had to pay was more than I'd hoped, but the professionalism and response to my dilemma made me feel my money was well spent. I'd hire the Roto-Rooter folks again in a heartbeat... which is what I skipped when this problem occurred! Thankfully, they kept my dilemma from being an all-out disaster!
