Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I was out of town and my wife set up to have the overflow drain in our bathtub re-connected as it came undone. They came to the house and less than an hour had it fixed. They used two small parts to replace the old, and turned around and charged over $500 dollars!!!!
Everything was easily excessive from the basement and there was no hard labor used. My wife was told we had a Major Leak. She didn't understand what they were talking about and agreed to have them fix it, not knowing it wasn't a major water leak, just a simple fix.
I have called and asked for their Manager to call me, and we are in day two with no return phone call. I have spoken to two other plumbing outfits and they have looked at the work and stated the most they would have charged is $150-$180 dollars...NOT over $500.
I strongly feel they were taking advantage of my wife, a woman...who does not know plumbing. This type of business strategy sickens me, and I see it far to much. We have other rental homes and have friends in the Property Management areas for real estate companies and unless this is justified or corrected, business with this Company will stop for many people/ businesses.
I would have given them zero stars, but you have to click on at least 1 star to leave a review.

3 Days later I called again requesting the manager, hours later he called me and said he is confident and ok with the charge of $500+ dollars for the fix. The plumber was in his truck doing paperwork on the bill for 25-30 minutes, which we also we're charged for. They billed us for 2 hours for 1 hour of work, and over priced parts. Manager stated ""I can't make this right, because we can't pay off every unhappy customer"". It's called 2 words.... Customer Service....you provide that and your customers will come back. Never again will Roto-Rooter be spoken good over. They will see the impact from my friends in the rental business.

I had great success with Roto-Rooter. I liked that I got friendly service when I set up the appointment over the phone. I liked that I got a call back notifying me when they were on their way. CJ was professional, courteous and took the time to answer all my questions. He left my basement area without any mess and was fast in cabling out the sewer line. I have nothing but good things to say. I'd use them again without hesitation!

I called Roto-Rooter in Spokane to pump my septic. They are in the middle of a move and have several new staff members in their office. This caused scheduling to be a bit of a challenge. They showed up late both days they were scheduled to be there but did make it on the day. They did call and reschedule one day we had previously agreed on. This was not a big deal. I was assured that the tardiness was due to the office relocating and the scheduling staff becoming accustomed to the software they use. Once the field workers and techs got to the site, things moved quickly. Most of the personnel involved were professional and new their trade well. I feel like the job was in very skilled hands. The price was agreeable. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Thank you Roto-Rooter!

Tom arrived and put us at ease. Our Sewer line was completely clogged, he was able to come in and get the pesky tree roots cleaned out, even though he had to snake the line through the toilet. Another local N. ID company wanted to waterjet our line to clear the then put a camera in the line before even attempting what was needed. Their office staff as well as their Tech were super friendly and knowledgeable.

Late Friday afternoon we needed a diagnosis on our sewer line in Osburn, ID. I called and talked to a very pleasant woman (Trisha). She quoted me a price for travel and a price for the diagnosis. The gentleman came in a timely manner. He showed us the problem and said he would get back to us in a couple of days with a quote. He had good follow-through. Lastly, the invoiced amount was for exactly what was quoted -- NO SURPRISES!

I called Roto-Rooter because I had used a different company in the past to clean out my drain pipes of tree roots. (I never seem to catch it in time before if backs up into my basement) This last time it had only been two months ago. I knew something more was going on and didn't really trust who I was using anymore. I wanted the camera inspection first to see what was going on in there. I suspected more than tree roots so I needed to be sure. Tom Williams came out and was very friendly and informative as to what he was doing and why. The camera images were amazing. We found the clog and he pushed the camera through it and then found a really big buildup of tree roots. He cleared the line and then put the camera back through. There was still a lot of tree roots around the edge so he cleared the line again and then put the camera through again. It looked better be there was a dip in the pipe and the camera would go under water. He told me that the problem was probably the big tree right over the pipe possibly pushed the pipe down causing there to be a gap so the tree roots are coming n faster than normal. (He explained it much better) Sadly, he told me my problem would keep coming back until I got that pipe fixed. The problem is that huge tree needs to be removed first and then the cost of fixing the pipe could be as much as $3000. He gave me practical suggestions of how to give me a little more time between clean outs while I figure out how to pay for the repairs. Although I didn't like my situation outcome I have to say Roto-Rooter (specifically Tom) did an awesome job at what he does. I will ask for him by name when the time comes to do this again.

The plumber who rendered service at our house was friendly, communicated very clearly, kind to our children, presented options for service with no pressure. We were very pleased with his work, but especially with the care he took to communicate with us each step of the way. Plumbers are expensive and the invoice hurts to look at. However, I have learned the hard way from previous experience that it pays to go with the best. Roto-Rooter is worth it.
