Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

After 4 days of trying to deal with Rescue Rooter, (who only wanted to replace our sewer system) we gave up and called this company. Was given a 4 Hour window and a call saying they'd be here in 30 minutes. Taylor showed up and after an hour found the problem. He snaked the drain, powered washed it out and said the sewer system was in great condition. A 5 Star job well done. Thank you Taylor and Roto Rooter.

We needed to have our Main sewer replaced. Roto Rooter came and assessed the situation and informed us of the Pipe Bursting method . Our yard is landscaped with thousands of plants and we were hoping that there will not be a need to dig in some areas of the yard to replace the pipe. Mike came with a whole crew and they did a fantastic job. They agreed to do hand digging in the yard as to not destroy the plants. They were flexible with the schedule, came on time, arranged with the city for all the inspections necessary, were friendly, polite and professional. The project took two days and when they left, everything was cleaned up and it looked exactly as it was when they came.

I will definitely use them again if I need to and I highly recommend them.

We hired Roto Rooter to work on our sewer pipe repair. Due to the rocky soil, the project was challenge for the workers. We are very impressed by Roto Rooter plumbers and workers' team work, especially Jesse, Troy and Paul showed us hard work and professionlism. Branch manager Michael was on site the first and last day to make sure his people work safely and get the job done right. We would recommend Roto Rooter to friends.

Meh. Scheduled an appointment and no one came or called. Not interested in scheduling again with a company that cares so little about its customers.

Last week, I wrote a 5-star review of Roto-Rooter after Louis A. came out and unclogged my storm drains. Exactly one week later, one of them clogged again. I called Roto-Rooter back and they sent someone out. There apparently had been no communication between the two service techs, as the second one thought he was called out on a sewer problem. He had me flushing toilets and running water in the house. Finally, he asked me for a copy of the receipt to find out what was done by Louis A, then contacted him by phone. All I could hear in the background from Louis A. was that there was ""no guarantee"" for the previous work, which I was already aware of. The tech then said he would need to have someone come out with a camera. I had to leave for work and was told I didn't need to be home when they came.

Then the ball got dropped. That afternoon and the following day, I tried to find out about the status of my repair. I was told that the second tech had unclogged the drain again, at no cost to me. I checked and it was still clogged. In frustration, I then called and asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that one would call me right back. Never happened. Called the following day and again asked for a supervisor, and again, no return call. I finally canceled and went with another company.

Roto-Rooter is a company where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. It doesn't help that all of their calls for Portland are routed through California. Then the ""game"" of telephone begins!

Good: most of the guys were great. Plumbing they fixed is still fixed. Overall we've spent more than 3000$ with them, but we are about to spend a whole lot more (see below)...

HOWEVER

They never call you back or follow thru on promises.

We need a septic to sewer conversion and were passed around people in the company until the last person, Waylon seemed to be ready to give us a quote.
This was in September.
We waited and waited, and finally called in early October and expressed dismay for repeated lack of follow thru on many of their employee's part especially Waylon because we really need to understand what we are dealing with here and he promised us he ""was the best"".

I told them, this is our last call to you I'm not chasing you guys any more, please have Waylon send us the quote.

November 1.
Still no quote, no call, no email, no follow up.

I am done.

This job will be a lot of money, and we won't spend it with Roto-rooter.

Way to go guys.

I called Roto Rooter in an emergency situation, and Jason Martin was the service tech who came by. He was awesome, and because of it I wouldn't hesitate to call RR again. Thank you!

I initially had a significant issue with the services provided but it has since been resolved in an appropriate manner. C for execution - A+ for service recovery.

I have saved my previous review and will add it back if things fall through.

I had a sewage backup at my parents house while they were out of town. They told me that I had an account with them to later realize that we never had an account them (my mom called a few years back just to inquire). Once the guy got to my house he didn't monitor the situation and just started working and then charged me $519 and left without cleaning the driveway. I don't recommend them and advise you to search elsewhere. No one at this company seems to care about their customers nor do they seem knowledgeable.

The worst service ever received. Waited 6 (3 hours late) hours to be told that they couldn't do it today because they needed a second guy to carry machine downstairs. I offered, they declined and said schedule another day. Meanwhile, we can't use plumbing. Instead I rented the identical machine, carried it down stairs myself and fixed drain and carried it back upstairs!

What a joke of service!
