Jamal, the technician, was extremely professional and did not give up until our sewer line was clear. He was dedicated to giving us the best possible outcome.

Don't use them is you want pricing transparency and a good price.

I bought a replacement garbage disposal that I needed installed (Insinkerator Badger 1.0, 1/3 hp).

I figured it would be pretty straightforward to find out what it cost. Instead, they told me ridiculously - that the technician had the price sheet, and she had to be there to tell Merz I asked them if the person was a contractor, and they said no. In other words, they know what they charge to replace my unit. They just acted like they couldn't.

I told them if they gave me a crazy high quote, I would absolutely tell the person who came over no, and they'd waste their time and gas and miles on a vehicle. So I waited all day for somebody to show up to tell me it would cost $508.

I've done two of these as a completely UNHANDY person (novice level DIY guy), and it took me less than an hour.

I did exactly what I told them I'd do and said no. I chuckled when I heard the rep outside my home saying, ""Yeah, he said no."" I guess there must be some school of thought that if my need for convenience or urgency would make me accept any price.

Instead, I kept looking and found someone who did the replacement for $250, and he was not in my home for any more than 30 minutes total time. The idea I might have paid $508 for that repair is why I won't call them again.

Nightmare time dealing with Roto Rooter. Came to fix a leak into my bathtub and caused a leak into my ceiling in my living room. Poor communication for several weeks, where I had to call and get things moving when I was promised several things that never happened when they were told they would be, like a manager calling and water restoration teams coming out. The worst offender of them all was Chadrick Gray, who was incompetent with dealing with the situation as he failed to communicate when the problem happened and failed to provide any service when dealing with him, frustrating me even more. Save your time and energy from dealing with a three-week drama fest of people who do not know how to deal with problems they created.

The two men who came to help with the plumbing were friendly, polite, and got the job done on the bath. I give them both five stars, hands down for that. But the sink handle, which they shouldn't have been touching at all, appears to have been tinkered with. It is now stiff and there is barely any flow from the sink faucet. I will NOT work with this company ever again and I can only hope that they will come back and fix what they broke.

On top of that I also have some issues with the company as a while. I do not understand how they charged the way that they did. Let it be known that I'm all for paying for labor, knowledge, and experience. What I'm struggling with here is the standardization and impersonal nature of these charges.

I had already identified the source of the problem on my own and got half the work done before the plumbers were called. (One of the plumbers even said that I'd done half the work already, remember this is on the bathtub faucet, not the sink handle which is mysteriously damaged.) We needed a plumber purely because the rest of the work that needed to be done I did not have the confidence, knowledge, or experience to do. The plumbers came, saw the issue, said they had to go buy a part and that they'd be back. I was a little surprised it wasn't a part they already had in their van and once I got the bill for ""labor to pick up non stock item"" ($188) I wished I had gone and purchased the part myself. What a joke. On top of that the company charged $173.10 for the cost of the part (the part costs around $15). That is an incredibly hiked up charge. Disgustingly high. It is ridiculous. And I'm slightly furious.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
