Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I have a floor drain in my mechanical room that was draining slow when the water softener cycled. I called Roto-Rooter in Salt Lake City, Utah and they said they couldn't give prices over the phone and they would send a plumber over for free and look at it and give me a price and if it was acceptable to me they would fix it right then. The gave me a 4 hour time frame for later that day and after 4 hours they called and said they were running late. After another hour or so, 2 guys showed up and I said I just wanted them to snake 10 feet or so because I was sure it just need snaked a little way because it was close to the main line drain and nothing else in the house was having problems. They said it would be $435 to snake a 1 1/2 to 2 inch drain! I almost fell over and the guy just stared me down. I said something like, wow, that's way more than I thought and he just said that's what is it. I showed them the door... Then I went to the tool rental place and rented a small snake on a drill for $20 and it took me 10 minutes to clean it out.
I will NEVER call these rip off artists again!

They made it out when no one else would come and even offered a sewage clean up service that backs you up and holds insurance to their end of the contract!

They say they are 24/7 until you have an emergency backup at 10pm. They want us to wait until 8 am tomorrow but the home is flooding now!
