They told me they would charge me 450 to unclog a clog then they couldn't do the job said there snake wasn't long enough that they would need another guy with another machine to come out and that it would cost me double because of this because why you don't have the proper tools

Our water heater went out Saturday night and we scheduled an appointment with Roto Rooter on Sunday morning and the tech was supposed to be out to our house between 11 am and 3 pm. Customer service called to cancel our appointment at 2:30 pm. Frustrated but understanding that something came up, we agreed to re-schedule for a tech to come out to our home Monday. Our time was set for someone to come out between 12-4 and it's now 6:06 pm. No one is here. No one has called. Yesterday when we were re-scheduling the customer service rep committed to having a water heater done FOR SURE today. I just called to follow up on our ""appointment"" and was told that a tech may still be able to come out but won't have a water heater for us. Yeah, because that serves us real well. Zero respect for other peoples time. We will not be doing any future business or recommending anyone to this company.

Barlows HVAC Service Experts called us this afternoon and asked if they could ""win our business back"" as when we originally called around they couldn't get us scheduled in. We are happily going to work with them after TWO DAYS of non responsive techs with Roto Rooters.

I had some water backing up into my utility room. The guys came by and told me about all of the different things that could be causing it. They said they'd have to put a camera into my pipes and that it would be $300 to do that. They looked through the camera and said that there was nothing wrong, but that they could just snake the drain (a service that should have cost about $60) and that would probably fix it. After snaking the drain, I haven't had any problems, but getting charged $300 for a $60 service was frustrating.

I called Roto-Rooter get a hose bib replaced. The plumber came three hours late and quoted me $775.00 I told him that sounded high, he told me parts alone are $275.00 so...I looked up the price of parts and it was $10.00 I canceled the job, but the plumber showed up the next day anyway. He asked why I would cancel the job, I told him the price was too high, and he told me he could give me a special deal at $675.00. I told him to leave. Their sister company called me and told me the state of Utah was concerned about my flooding and they could come clean the parts. First, my basement never flooded, second, the state doesn't call you about your plumbing (next stop for this reviewer is the better business bureau). The next day ACE plumbing fixed my hose bib...total for the job $275.00...so Roto-Rooter up bid me by the tube oh $500.00. Don't give this terrible business a chance to come to your house, they are crooks and wasted my time.

National website says full range of septic services. Called to ask question about what I needed to do prior to cleaning the line from the tank to the drain field. Ignorant person who answered the phone just wanted to schedule an appointment, asked 4 times if it was the main sewer line. No I don't have a sewer line for the 4th time! I just want to talk to a local technician about prep for the visit. Nope, can't do that. These people know nothing about the services they supposedly offer, taking my business elsewhere.

The shower in the lower level of the house had water backing out of the drain. I called Roto_Rooter and explained the problem and that I heard gurgling sounds in the sinks upstairs as well. They scoped the drains and the mainline to the street and determined it was tree roots in the mainline causing all the issues. The scoped and rooted the roots out and all seemed fine. They charged me $300. Then, 2 weeks later... Thanksgiving day I have water coming out of my sink and water coming up out of my basement vents onto my hardwood floors!! I have lived there for 30 years and this has never happened before. I called them back and they claimed it was a new clog and they would be happy to get rid of it for...another $300!!!

What happened to the warranty and fixing things right the first time? I offered to pay for the labor but not the drive out. He called his boss and still: No! the charge was going to be $300!!!! to fix something they should have fixed the first time. All for a grand total of $600!!!!

This is simply not ok. I spent Thanksgiving in a flood, 14 days after having Roto-Rooter claiming they fixed the problem.

I will tell to all I know and of course to those who check Yelp :) DO NOT USE ROTO_ROOTER!!!!!!! They Rip you off.

First time ever, our sewer backed up and we had no idea what to do. My daughter put us in touch with Ken Holm at Roto Rooter and he came to the rescue. I called him at 7 pm on Sunday night, told him we had things under control but wanted to scope the pipe. He and Hassan arrive promptly the next morning and through their professional and diligent work, cleared a big root 95 feet down the pipe. Wow! Fantastic, honest, fair service. We will keep Ken's number handy and recommend him for any services you need.

Its funny that they replied to my review and said they are going to ""investigate"". I already complained to the manager right after the incident and he told me he would ""take care of it"" but its years later -- they did nothing.

I had somebody come out last night to take a look at a drain that wasn't draining-right when he got there, he first asked if I had been quoted the after hours fee over the phone (I hadn't) and that he had just driven over an hour to get here (so basically, I had no choice at this point!). He then gave me the price for cleaning the drain and I asked what would happen to that price if the clean didn't work to which he replied that it would most definitely work...welp, it didn't. Then he asked me what he thought was fair to pay him but then ended up declaring the price I needed to pay after speaking to his supervisor. At first he offered to come back to camera the drain at no charge but then once I clarified that there wouldn't be a charge he told me it would be probably $200 just to camera it?
Fast forward to this morning, I am waiting for them to come out here (between 8am-10am is what I was told). I rescheduled appointments to accommodate this time! Called at 10:10 am and the operator said that they would be on their way soon, called again at 12 pm and was told that someone wouldn't be here until after 2 pm.
Just unreliable service that didn't make you feel comfortable or like they were actually trying to help you.

I had a clogged basement drain and scheduled a week ahead. Ricky showed up on time, provided a written estimate with a guarantee of no-fix:no-charge.
He spent the better part of two hours clearing the drain, packed up his equipment and thanked me for the business. I would recommend him.

I will add that unless you are the first call of the day, it is difficult to project subsequent times.
