Totally incompetent.

They misdiagnosed a stoppage, and charged about $5,000 for it. But that wasn't the problem. When they finally found the problem, which would have been about $600 at their rates, the installation leaked. Plumbers would look at it, then leave without doing anything. Appointments were scheduled, but no one would show up. Was promised call backs, but none.

Find someone else.

Christopher Williams came to our house after we noticed our showers weren't draining and the toilets weren't flushing. He fixed everything within 2 hours and was so nice through the process, explaining to us everything that was wrong and what we could do to prevent this from happening in the future.

They charged me $4,600 for a work including an excavation. The excavation took 5 hours to get in, 2 hours to fix the problem, 3 hours to put the soil back. They sub-contracted people. Absolutely ridiculous; I wish I could have known what the job was going to be about... I will never hire this company again.

Fixed a simple problem, but charged an arm and leg for it. Then they wanted to tear down my wall to replace an old pipe and quoted me several thousand dollars. Another plumber quoted me 1/5th the price with the Sheetrock replacement. The issue ended up fixing itself.

Really bummed we went with this company. We needed the sewer line cleared quick due to the fumes and were unfortunately desperately calling. They were rude when we missed their call after we called back two minutes later. Worse though, they charged us $405 to clear our line. It was quick and not difficult at all for them. I had another company call back right after and they would have charged $125! Feel scammed now. Please do your research even in times of desperation.

BE AWARE! MAJOR RIP-OFF!
Their technicians are a joke and this company is only interested in pulling as much money out of your pocket as possible by making up defects and/or over-exaggerating the problem. We had a fairly simple blockage in the kitchen and called Roto-rooters since we're both very busy at work and didn't had time to deal with it. We called Roto-rooters hoping for a fast, fair and flawless service for this simple problem. The website looked professional so we had high expectations. We asked my dad to open the door for the technician. This technician literally just glanced underneath the sink and with less than 2 minutes into that visit he started saying that we have a grease-trap problem and that we are dealing with illegal plumbing. My dad is 75 years old and not technical at all so you can sell him everything, but he didn't entirely trust the story so he called me at work to share the 'findings' of this so-called technician. When I enlightened them that our system did not have a grease-trap and that 'illegal' plumbing doesn't exist, unless you're hiding an illegal substance in the pipes, the story quickly changed into a blockage with plumbing but stayed with the 'illegal plumbing' story. It would cost us $435.00 USD + tax for the blockage and since we are dealing with 'illegal' plumbing we needed a $300.00 USD/hour + tax (!) licensed plumber to remove and reinstall the plumbing. The technician who was so 'educated' on the illegal plumbing situation that he was not allowed to tough it. We were looking at a $800 - $1000 dollar bill for the service of these scamming charlatans. I told them to get off my property and take their scamming and overpriced business elsewhere.

I than called a local plumber, who did not get his 300 dollar/hour plumbing license through Harvard or Yale, and it took the man less than 5 minutes to unclog our plumbing with a garden hose and a pipe bladder and charged us 80 dollars to cover the call-out cost.

The business model of Roto-rooters is quite simple; clogged pipes are a disaster! It is gross and it limits you to do the every day chores which is an absolute pain, especially with children. They take advantage of that situation and especially of (elderly) people who have no idea.

Let it be clear;
$435 dollar for 10-15 minutes of work is a RIP-OFF!
$300 dollar per hour for a plumber is outreaches and therefor an even bigger RIP-OFF!!!

Stay far far away from this company would be my honest advice!

terrible company. they gave me a time window 3:30-7:30 and then I were told could be after 9:30 pm. I am wondering if they have enough people working. I am not going to use them again. Never!

The service was great, and the technician Kyle Courtney was friendly and did a great job. The problem I had was the price he charged. I had almost all the parts necessary to complete the job except a water valve ball joint $10 to $20 if purchase through a store, and I still got charged for parts. The total charge of $600 in labor for two hours or work is borderline crazy. The $80.78 for parts was ridiculous as well. Although there was a $180 discount, the take-home for two hours of work and about $30 of parts was around $500. I will not be using you in the future--no need to contact me to follow up. In addition to this pricey encounter was a no-show for service appointment confirmed in an email, and all I got was a missed call which I called back. They said the call was to confirm your appointment, and because you did not answer, the appointment was rescheduled. I question the honesty of the confirmation email. I'm only writing this so you might take the opportunity to better your customer service and business integrity.

I will never contact this company again. I understand there is a plumbing crisis happening all over the city due to this 2021 winter storm that caused pipes to freeze and burst. I understand they and every other plumbers in Texas are probably overwhelmed in the past few days. This doesn't excuse them for not contacting their customers back when an appointment was promised.

I have a copper pipe burst in the ceiling and I suspect it's the pipe leading to the water heater. The water damaged the sheet rock in the ceiling and a huge panel collapsed into the garage below. I had to shut off the main valve so I have no water flow for 2 days now.

I called them Tuesday night and spoke to a gentleman who explained how overwhelmed they are but said he can put me on their schedule for Thursday and that a technician will call me to let me know what time to expect him. Thursday morning I decided to call them directly to make sure that my appointment is still good, but instead I get their answering machine saying they are not accepting calls right now and can only schedule service for indoor drain backups, and you must fill out their online form. Talk about slamming the door in your customers face! It's Thursday night and like I suspected, nobody called me at all throughout the day. I understand things change and I don't expect anyone to be perfect. If you can't make your appointment, give me a call to let me know! That much I do expect from a "professional" company. So much for the professional part.

I am done with this irresponsible company. I've seen others had the same issue with them based on the bad reviews. I urge everybody to stay away from this company.

I am not going into all of the details, but here is a short version: I called at 3am Monday because I had a snap connection freeze and break off at the wall. I considered this an emergency - water was pouring out of the hole. I did turn off the water and was told I had an appointment at 10 am that day. I waited. When I called at 11am for an update, the gentleman on the other end was unsympathetic and said they were overwhelmed with requests and to just wait my turn. I was so taken aback, that I found another company who would actually come help with my emergency. No power and no water, but I did get it fixed that evening at 8pm.
I am a nurse - in an emergency we listen to the client with sympathy, collaboratively work to a solution, then we SHOW UP. I'm still waiting on my Rotorooter person to contact me - it's Thursday now.
