Freddie was great. He was very nice and came across as very competent. Only issue I have with RotoRooter is the haggling aspect of the service call. First tech who came out tried to charge me +$350, we eventually agreed on $150. He was unsuccessful and therefore we had to get another technician to come out. I would recommend requesting Freddie right off the back if you need a technician. Good luck

In a time where service companies often 'string you along' for that 1-4 hour window, I have found Roto-Rooter to be fairly accurate in advising when they will arrive; and calling at least 1/2 hour again before they arrive to your home. I have also found them to be refreshingly honest about estimates, and the actual work to be performed, before they begin the work. So my experience with Roto-Rooter has been good; and I've used them several times.

Had a problem with the kitchen sink backing up. Called roto rooters because they came highly recommended by a friend. When I called to make an apt I was told the plumber will arrive at the scheduled 4 hour time block(, 12-4pm), will call 30 minutes in advance ( which I stressed that I need) and will give an estimate before proceeding with work.
On the day of the work, I got a call at 11.30 am in class asking me where I was and the plumber was at my house. They didn't bother to call 30 minutes in advance and arrive before the schedule time. We located my husband who was home and the plumber proceeded to fix the problem without giving an estimate.
All he did was fill the sink, cover one end with his hand and ran the garbage disposal. My husband texted me 10 minutes later and said he charged him $78. I had downloaded a $40 coupon and my husband forgot to pass it to the plumber as I was supposed to be home during the service.

However as soon as he realized he called roto rooters who told him to call the main office on Monday. And they would take care of it. So he did and was told to expect the refund in a few days. Later on the same day, a lady from the company called me and say they need to check with management approval because they charged a cheap rate already and they usually charge above $200 an hour. I reminded her about the situation where they failed to call in advance , did not arrive at scheduled time and did not give an estimate before proceeding. Had I been home ( plumber was long gone before I got home at 12 pm), I would not have forgotten the coupon. Anyway she said she would get back to me in a few days.

10 days passed and nothing back from roto rooters. So I called the office again and this time spoke to the manager who said he would check and call me back. It is now 2 days later and still nothing from roto rooters.

I am very glad the problem was fixed quickly but very unhappy that they fail to follow the procedure I was informed they would, and not bothered to follow up on the refund issue ( by 2 different person). A good customer oriented company would have apologized for the inconvenience and prompted processed the return but this company did neither and didn't even call back as promised!

Update: the manager contacted me via email and followed up with a phone call for the refund. Wished it was took less hoops to jump through to get this resolved but I appreciate they did that! Ps: my sink drains still working grea

Needed an emergency main house drain clearing on a Sunday afternoon (we couldn't shower, wash clothes or dishes, or flush toilets without water backing up into the first floor tub/shower). The plumber showed up within 2 hours of my call and completed the work in about 15 minutes. He was professional, curtious, and did a thorough check of the system when he was done. They do a follow up with a camera inspection of the line to make sure the line is clear and there are no pending problems.

It was a littel pricey - $300+ for this service.

Good service! The technician was very knowledgeable and courteous! I was very happy with the service provided. The only issue is the high price for the more common jobs such as replacing valves. If prices were more competitive (ie. lower), then for sure a higher review. Lower prices will mean more calls to Roto-Rooter :) Overall, very happy with the experience "A-Ok" but would have to think to use again for common jobs.

I called Monday morning, Someone called me back within two hours to set up consultation appointment.

This ghetto sounding person sneared at me when i asked her to schedule me for a narrower time frame as she repeating herself: 8-12 or 2-6. I asked her for a day of the week and she made a grunting/sneared sounds as she repeated herself "madam, i. tooold. you. we. only. schedule. from. two. to six. and nobody works in the evn..."Ok. So whatever, i asked for someone to come the next morning.

Sat my behind at home from 8-1115 waiting. Waiting. No one ever showed up. No call. I decided to call them. It turns out, Genius there scheduled me for 8PM to 12PM...How ironic, when she repeated herself in her condescending tone to me like five times "NO BODY WORKS AFTER SIX PM"

So back to the scheduling issue, Another person told me there is a mistake on the scheduling and i dont have to wait anymore. EXCUSED ME? I was upset at that point. To fuel, she told me "there is no one available right now and i can reschedule you for another day..." LOL

i talked to a manager, Chris something, he was able to dispatch someone else to come to my house but it did not happened until 1230PM.

The technician is ok but he walked all over my carpet in his disgusting shoes and stepped on my daughter stuff toys. Those are the things i thought roto-rooter boasted of not to do: ease of scheduling and conscientious...FAILED IN BOTH.

I had to have another plumber come out to help me after my first service call..(Marty). He was absolutely wonderful!! He took his time and listened to my concerns and the problem I was having with my toilet. He cleaned up after himself and most importantly had me to comeback and listen for the drip in the tank!!

Wonderful attitude, professional, and cleaned up before he left. He did not track any mud, dirt in my home and did not walk pass the rug on the front door after he wrote up a ticket.

Thank you Marty 1927 if I ever needed service from this company again I will ask for him!!

I think I hit the jackpot today with Mr. Clyde.

First the dispatcher was able to get someone out within 2 hours. She even called to touch based to let me know that he's on the way.

Not only did he fix the problem at a great rate, he gave me great tips to take care of my drains in my home.

Such a nice and genuine person. Roto-Rooter did a great job by having Mr. Clyde on their team.

My technician did a great job of identifying my problem and resolving it timely. He did not try to up charge me and gave me a more competitive rate than other quotes I had received. We have had no issues with our shower or sink drain since.

Buyer beware. The company charges way too much. After calling them for a kitchen drain problem in November 2015 and paying $255, I called them again for same problem. Technician came out and wanted to charge $326 to work on the same issue. I think not. I called another large national company and paid $69 to clear the drain which included a camera scope of my entire system.
