Roto-Rooter came to our home to fix a couple sewer leaks. They did finally get the leaks fixed, but tore my bathroom up to get to one of the leaks.
They talked me out of paying someone to tunnel under the slab and wanted to jack hammer through.
They also Jack Hammered in another area and found that's wasn't where the leak was. Now I have to pay to have the tile floors replaced. I finally called a tunneling company for that leak as I didn't want more holes jack hammered in my house.
They said they would replace the bathtub or put in a walk-in shower for us in the bathroom they tore up.
I asked if I should just hire a contractor to do the walk-in shower & retile, but once again, they talked me out of it.
They did a horrible job installing the shower and it ended up costing me another $3,500 to hire a contractor to fix most what they had done! The shower still has problems with the doors not closing properly, but I guess I'm stuck with that now.
Never again, they need to stick to plumbing and not remodeling bathrooms!

A rogue company run in corporate style..Promise made are never kept. They did jetting of my place charging me $2000. I called them in the warranty period. I was told first there in no warranty. Then one month warranty. And ultimately they did not cover the charges in warranty.
Please get everything in written. They do not stand by their word...

Recently had some work done with Roto-Rooter
Before the work was completed, they took the entire money from our checking account. We were told by the Manager doing to work that additional work needed to be done and assured us that no money would be taken from our account until the work was completed. I talked with 2 managers from the telephone # on their web site and they told me that would have the sales rep call but no calls were received. When I called the sales rep's cell telephone on several occasions, but his telephone message told me he could not take any messages as his cell phone was full of messages. I call the sales rep's manager and no return calls. Dont understand why they take $ from your acct before the work was completed.
After they get your money, no more CUSTOMER SERVICE.
NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ROTO-ROOTER

Atmos Energy determined that my house had a gas leak somewhere.

Roto Rooter has been my plumbers of choice since they added plumbing services to their services back in the 1980's. Therefore, they were who I chose to call for the gas line repair(s). Robert arrived on Tuesday morning, and immediately identified some wonky issues that Atmos had overlooked. He addressed those things, and made notes on other issues. Then ran a pressure check of his own. It _almost_ held pressure, but not well enough to pass inspection, so he checked all the connections inside the house for leaks. He found a slow one behind the stove, which happened to be adjacent to some work that had been improperly by a home remodeling contractor some years back that I had agreed he should fix. Two birds with one stone!

Sadly, however, that repair did not resolve the leak. There were apparently problems under the house in the crawl space. (my house was built around 1950) That process involves an additional technician, so we made plans for a followup visit.

Due to a big leak at an Irving school, the return was delayed until Thursday, but Robert and Jesse were there bright and early and got right to work. Jesse immediately identified at least eleven small leaks at old rusty joints under the house, as well as junctions from the original construction that were no longer connected to anything but leaking at their capped ends.

They reported their findings to me and let me know what the cost was going to be. While not cheap, from my perspective, the alternatives weren't going to be cheaper. Go forth and replace pipes!

The scope of the job got a bit larger, but they kept me updated and continued to toil away, pausing only to wipe the sweat from the brows (this was during the 100+ days in mid-July) or respond to my queries about this or that. (Which, I might add, tended to be random stuff that didn't always relate to the job at hand...)

I appreciate having someone working on my house that I trust so completely that I have no issues handing over a key to my (very small) kingdom.

Kudos to Robert for all the beautiful work on the topside and to Jesse for all the work I presume to be equally beautiful underneath (I have no desire to enter my crawlspace or my attic either one.)

Avoid at all costs. We used roto rooter in an emergency and did not have time to compare pricing. We were charged $369 an hour to change a pipe in our wall. After calling 5 other local plumbers, most charged $50-100 an hour for this exact same work. We were ultimately charged $2200 to fix a single pipe. We were taken advantage of because we were in an emergency, and they wanted to charge us an additional $3,000-$6,000 to use fans in our house to dry out our floors. We called the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners and they told us that if a company is charging that much, usually something illegal is going on. I tried to speak with multiple people to resolve our issue and they were zero help.

Our kitchen sink backed up on a Sunday late afternoon. After taking all the pipes apart looking for blockages, we had to call Roto-Rooter to unblock us to the main. They were responsive, on time, fair price, and our plumber Steve was great!

Not happy with Roto-Rooter. We had a good experience a few months ago when we had a kitchen sink backing up. We even recommended a friend based on good experience. So, when we had another plumbing issue, we naturally thought of calling Roto-Rooter. Bad idea. So, last week a technician was sent to my house to resolve a clogged pipe caused by a foreign object dropped in pipe from toilet. After snaking pipe and seeing with camera the foreign object, they told my wife they could not clear pipe with snake and would have to replace 10 foot section of pipe. This estimate was over $10,000. My wife asked if they couldn't push it through with snake or something and they said, "no,that's wedged in there!" So, after several days of angst about the situation, we called for a second opinion. The new plumbing company said they could clear it. So in about 2 hours, the issue was resolved with minimal cost. I called Roto-Rooter thinking their company could be trusted with knowledgeable and well trained technicians that would recommend the right path for best resolution. I feel Roto-Rooter took advantage of my wife and situation and could have ruled out a more cost effective option with us. My wife called Roto-Rooter back to discuss our concerns and was given an unsatisfactory explanation that their plumbers are not allowed to clear lines from top of roofs. "They asked , did the plumber know you had a roof clean out? ". My wife said, "They're certified plumbers, they should know this!" I am very disappointed we were put in this situation and charged $425.00 for nothing! Don't bother calling Roto-Rooter for plumbing issues unless you want to be taken advantage of like us. I will not be recommending nor using Roto-Rooter again!

Our kitchen drain was clogged Saturday night and hubby tried to unclog it but to no avail. Sunday morning around 8:45 we called the number listed here. We were told that the next available plumber would be sent over and to expect them between 9am - Noon.

An hour later Alexander arrived! He quickly assessed the situation and went to work under the kitchen sink. He brought his industrial strength auger in (on a wheeled stand) and his tool bag. He set up a protective mat on the floor and asked for a towel to keep the area clean.

He was very professional and patient and answered all of our questions. I asked if the cost was more to come out on a weekend/Sunday and he said no. He used the auger and ran the sink and viola the clog was gone!

Alexander worked quickly and was done within an hours time! He cleaned up the work area and presented us with the bill and we were able to use the $50 off Yelp coupon!

I highly recommend Roto Rooter!
