The main line that goes out to the street was clogged. I walked into the basement to find water on the floor and the basement sinks filled up with wastewater. Roto-Rooter came out came out to the house in about an hour and resolved the issue shortly after that. Worth every penny.
Devin was awesome!!
Devin is extremely knowledgeable and gave me a heads up of what I could be facing. I'm just glad that he was here and took care of it in the short amount of time.

You can find online that many people report them as ""unprofessional"" and ""rip-off,"" and I fully agree. I would not recommend this business at all.

More truthful admin staff. Correct website to reflect restrictions on service availability for certain areas such as Cape cod

I would not recommend this business at all. You can find online that many people report them as ""unprofessional"" and ""rip-off,"" and I fully agree. We had a backed-up drain, and a technician showed up for an estimate and scared us that we were ""screwed up"" and that it might take hours to fix this. After simply checking the water flow a few times, he gave a flat ""estimate"" of over $700, and that chemical treatment was necessary. Ultimately, he only spent 30 minutes snaking it out three times and left us with a bottle of chemicals. The chemical was not needed to unblock it. He later changed his words to say the chemicals were just to keep the drainage clean. Stay away from this business.

BEWARE!! Worst experience ever!
Quick read: left a crazy mess, used/destroyed our bath towels, charged an insane price.

The details:
We had them come out to snake our mainline. Thought it would be priced like any other plumber, nope $629!!
They made a MESS. They snaked it from our basement behind our washer and dryer that we had just purchased and had installed about a week prior. Once they left, I went downstairs and they left the sewage water they had splattered EVERYWHERE. My washer was covered, the lines were covered and they had undone the washer hoses to run them done the pipes and left them undone (I didn't know anything about hooking up a washer so it took me about 3 hours (after trying to start the laundry multiple times and walking away) to figure it out and start a load). Not to mention, the mess took hours to clean up.
Worst part... while cleaning up, I realized they had taken our BATH TOWELS (which were in a pile of laundry on the other side of the basement) and used those to catch some of the sewage water when it came out of the pipe! They also used some of our face clothes to wipe a little bit of the mess off of the top of the washer before leaving.

I called the company and spoke to GM Joe DeLicio. He seemed great and helpful. He told me he would reimburse me half plus the cost to replace my set of towels. He told me they're supposed to put down a blue tarp to prevent any mess and protect our home, which they did not do and he confirmed they did not do this by reviewing the photos the employees provided of our space. Our towels cost $29 each when we purchased them last year. I told him we had a set of 8 matching towels and I would like to keep a matching set he asked me to text him the information and he would additionally reimburse us the cost to replace the set.
Upon searching for over a week and contacting the company we purchased our towels from, the color we had was discontinued and we could not get them. The towels were now priced at $34 each (so a set of 8 would cost $272 before tax). I texted this information to Joe, as he asked that I do. He never replied. Around the same time, he reimbursed us about half of the incredibly high $629 we had been charged.

Additionally, I forgot to mention that Joe informed me that part of what we pay for is for them to clean up in the event they make a mess. They are also supplied with their own rags so the fact they used our bath towels / face clothes is asinine.

Lesson learned, NEVER USE ROTO ROOTER. I just assumed the cost would be about the same across the board. We contacted 3 plumbers after the fact to look at some additional work we needed. We told them about our experience and the look of shock and disgust can't even be put into words. With the ""work"" ROTO rooter did, they all quoted me for the same job no more than $300.

Please for your own sake, never use this company!

These people are scam artists. First off, I found out from one of the employees that came to my house that they work on commission. Yes that's right, a plumber that works on commission. Red flag anyone? So they came and snaked my drain. The guy claimed that he couldn't clear it. His snake went 100 feet out and couldn't clear it according to him. So he said we could pay the 500$ service fee or get the jet truck. We opted for the jet truck. Well within 15 minutes, some dude with a roto rooter polo on showed up and said he was the camera guy. Then the jet truck shows up. Now after two or so hours they claim there's a huge problem. There's a trap buried under the ground that's part of our septic line and that's what they can't clear. They said we needed to excavate the yard , remove the trap and replace it with a straight pipe. This was going to be $11,000. We bought it at first. We signed the contract, they seemed so sincere. It was around this time that one of them slipped and said they work on commission. I guess I ignored it, stuck my head in the sand I suppose. It wasn't until later on that night we thought about it and we caught them in a lie. The first guy said his snake went out 100 feet and couldn't clear it. The jet truck said they couldn't get through the trap. Well the trap is 30 feet of pipe so how did the first guy send his snake out 100 feet? I put $3300 down for the excavation work and canceled it the next morning. They refunded half of it and kept 1600 for the jet truck. Well the jet truck didn't solve the problem according to roto rooter so why am I paying full price for it? According to their terms of service, if they don't solve the problem you only pay a service fee which is $580. A bunch of scammers, do not go here!!! They freely admit when questioned that the techs work on commission. Would you ever hire a plumber on commission? I'm actually filing a complaint with the attorney general's office regarding roto rooters business practices. I'm not expecting it to go anywhere but if enough people complain, maybe they will be held accountable.

Terrible service and terrible customer service. We requested service on a water heater that was producing cold water. Roto Router charged $79.00 for diagnosis and $325 for lighting the pilot. Shortly after they left the property, the water was still cold. The day started with cold water and ended with cold water, yet we paid $404.00 for what!!! I called back and they looked at water heater again and diagnosed a valve issue, and quoted me an additional $395.00 to fix valve (the part was under warrarnty and not part of the $395.00). I asked to refund my initial appointment cost $404.00, since they diagnosed the problem wrong and the cold water was not fixed. They did not care. Please be careful with this company as you may be over charged as I was. (location, New Bedford, MA)

Roto Rooter came to my home with the sole purpose of working me over for money.
The first guy responded to the clog issue by spending 2 hours in the basement doing what, ihave no idea because the was no evidence of actual work not even a wet spot. Oh and he broke my toilet and offered to fix it for a charge.
He calls in a 2nd guy to supposedly use a camera to snake out to the street only when he shows up he doesn't even bother to bring any equipment into the basement. Just say nope can't do it gives an estimate of $4,600 to excavate and no promises and oh if something incidentally goes wrong they aren't responsible. WHAT!
I politely say thanks but no thanks. Called BASS Ready Rooter which I should have done first.
An hour later clog cleared, camera shows me a clear pipe to the city line.
For real it's 2021 do companies still look at women and say yup here's another suckered. I an tired of this crap.
