Had a great experience today with Roto-Rooter. I was notified by phone 15 mins before the technician arrived. Elie (8573) came on time, was very pleasant and professional. He explained everything that would be done, reviewed pricing and answered all questions I had before starting. Upon completion, he again took the time to explain his findings. These 4 stars are for the recent customer service experience I had with Roto-Rooter. I had some issues with some services they provided but when I contacted them and explained what happened their team members contacted me near immediately, and resolved the issues quickly and to my satisfaction. Another issue that came up was quickly resolved. So I would definitely give them two thumbs up for customer service.

Domenic 11436 from Roto-Rooter saved our basement (and ultimately our first weekend away in two years!) After our basement started flooding from a clogged pipe and failed attempts to clear it ourselves, he arrived in less than 45 minutes after the initial call for help. In less than an hour and a half of work, the pipes, which were clogged with roots, were cleared and all of our plumbing was working again without a flood in the basement. We are so grateful they were there when we needed them especially at midnight! Worth every penny.

I am torn between 2 and 3 stars. 3 because the plumber was great once he actually got here (Ron #5522) but 2 because we waited 6.5 hours. I sent an online request about 7:45 Sunday morning. Filled out the information and selected between 8-12 as my waiting time. At about 9:30 we called to confirm because an email was never set. The person that answered said they received the online submission and that the plumber was scheduled to come in between 9-11.
GREAT !!!! 12:30 rolls around and still no plumber. I call the main number again and was told they would call the plumber. Then was told the plumber didn't answer and they would call as when he got back to them. It wasn't until about 2:00 I called again and was told the plumber would be coming in about 40 minutes. I wonder what would have happened if I didn't call back.
I understand things happen but don't offer time lots if you can't guarantee someone can make it. More than half our day was wasted sitting around waiting when no one was coming.

Called up Roto-Rooter to unclog my vanity sink. I told them on the phone that I had plunged up leaves and acorns the night before leading me to believe that it was a clog in my vent pipe.

The first tech (Yes there were multiple) showed up and reeked like pot. I told him about checking the vent pipe and he shrugged it off. Two hours later he could not complete the task and called another person to come try and fix it. I asked him before he left to check the vent pipe and he told me that's not the issue.

An additional hour later another tech showed up supposedly the head trainer of the techs. He assured me he would fix the issue. He snaked my vanity sink for over two hours. I told him I think he is going out the vent pipe and that he should try snaking from my roof. The roof is only 10ft from the ground on my one level ranch mind you. He told me it could not be the vent pipe. He finally gave up and told me I need to call a plumber and have them cut out the wall and replace the pipe. I promptly asked him to leave.

I called in another plumbing company who snaked my vent pipe and solved the issue no cutting into the wall needed.

About the only good thing I can say about this company is that they did not charge me because they could not fix the issue.

If they had listened to the customer, they could have fixed it fast and I would have happily paid them.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. There are cheaper solutions out there.

Our sink was totally clogged and we were having dinner company. Ron (#5592) came out on a Sunday and within an hour had me back in business. He was very knowledgeable, polite and professional.

Our kitchen sink clogged up, causing water to drain from our washing machine and dishwasher. This was the day before a blizzard hit us, so I was so happy when Bob (tech #1137) came out during the blizzard and unclogged our sink. We did have to pay a higher price due for him to come out during the blizzard, but it was totally worth it. He was very friendly, introducing himself when he came in, and even brought in some cardboard to help protect our floor. Thank you so much!

It was a very cold day and there was a delay for service but when Ernst came I knew we were in good hands. He assured us after taking a look that he will take care of the plumbing issues we had and was very competent. But that was not the best part. He is also very caring and pleasant. Just very very nice. What more can you expect?!?!?
I am a repeat customer of Roto-Rooter and I will be for the future as long as they send Ernst out to me. Okay okay, someone like him. Thanks Ernst!!!

Was able to book service quick and easy from the website. Customer service called to let me know that the service man would be at my house within 30-40 mins.

Service man (Elie 8573) was pleasant and efficient. He took care of my issue (clogged shower drain) and was done in about a half hour.

Now the bad part. That half hour (45 mins to an hour tops) cost an exorbitant amount of money! $445 dollars is quite the charge for an hours work! Please keep in mind this was neither an emergency call or a weekend call. They do tell you before they start what the service price will be so you do have the choice to deny the service.

Even though the service was done well and scheduling was easy I don't think I can recommend this service purely based upon the price.

I called Roto-Rooter because we had two backed up toilets at 11:00 today. They charged an upfront fee after a free estimate to clear the toilets from the basement up. They ended up having to snake from the toilet down as well but did not change the original price.

Bob Bickerstaffe (Tech # 1137) was our plumber and he did a great job. He was very professional and explained everything he was doing so we could understand the process. My young kids even have drawings when he left because they liked him so much.

The problems are now solved and we are waiting to hear back later today from the person who analyzes the pipes through the camera they run through the pipes. They will let us know if there is any pipe damage that we should be concerned about and will give us tips for next steps.

Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely use them again.
