I received a follow up call based on my review below. Was basically told ""Oh well. We are a flat rate company, so your job was $400 for 40 minutes of labor"". I will NEVER use roto rooter again. No matter the consequences.

I was in a bind to have a new sump pump installed, as my old one went bad. Roto rooter was quick to respond, and schedule. Work performed was good, however VERY expensive. Approximately 45 minutes of work, bill was $400. As I was in a bind, I agreed. Again, good all around performance, just very expensive.

Had a clogged sewer pipe, called rotor rooter for service, It turned out to be the quickest rip off of $344.01 in my life, his only interest was to sell me a sewer pipe trap replacement at the cost of $3650.00, He made very little effort to clear the pipe because of his excuse of getting his snake stuck, What a bunch of hogwash, his main interest was to instill fear in me about the hell I would go through if I did'nt let him replace the sewer trap, The ironic thing is that the same thing happened to me at my house in philly, any way I went to home depot and they were honest enough to steer me in the right direction to clear my pipes for about $80.00, now the water is running free through the pipes and this time I learned my lesson, NEVER CALL ROTOR ROOTER.

Having a clogged pipe and sewer back up is not fun and especially when its valentines day. Called around to local businesses in riverside NJ but no one was open. Called Roto Rooter and thank goodness a very friendly voice answered my call. She scheduled the appointment and within 20 minutes Roto Rooter was at my door. The service man was so nice and he even called his boss to lower the price. He cleared the line and all was back to normal in no time.

had no problem having sewer line replaced, however follow up to have holes backhoed in is ridiculous. It has been 3 weeks and no response.

Our sewer backed up into sink. I scheduled them to come out for 5 pm at around 10 am that day. They sent the confirmation email, but didn't get the chance to read the part saying 5-7. No big deal, I called to confirm when I got home from work and was told about the 2 hour window. The start of the window and then the end of the window rolled by, no call. So I called back at 7 to ask for an eta. I got told by the person on the phone that they were 20 min away. I waited another 25 minutes before calling back, and got told another 20 minutes. They finally arrived over 40 minutes late and, on a work night, take another 40 to fish out the the clog (my house is maybe 20 feet from the curb where the drainage runs to). As he's working, he informs my fiance their rehabilitation guy needs to go over the insurance claim and workload with us. That guy finally starts to talk to us an hour after they got there, saying they're goING to have to rip out all the drywall and cabinetry along with the carpet and he'll submit the insurance claim to our homeowners insurance (all the wile doing all the fear mongering you would expect of a sales person ""mold, allergies, sickness, negligence, ect). I told him it's too late to do any of that, we need to think about our next move. The next day I set up an appointment with Servpro to have them look at the work that needs doing on any remediation, and the owner was nice enough to send out their pros free of charge for an inspection. Servpro took about 20 minutes looking for any signs that the backup did any damage other than the carpet in the living room connected to the kitchen, and they found nothing and thought it pathetic that Rotorooter would try to scam money out of their customers to make a quick buck by using the customer's lack of knowledge and faith in the professionals. that's $400 for the repair, but a few thousand dollars saved by not just blindly signing by being influenced by their fear mongering ways

Discovered water from lower bathroom that overflowed from clogged sewer line we determined. Sunday afternoon. Finally at 8:45 pm our Roto Rooter guy came and knew line needed se repair on Monday. He got house able to use water overnight. Monday in pouring rain team showed up and did repair without damage to yard. Costly in light of equally botched total sewer line replacement 4 years ago with not Roto Rooter. Bottom line use best when dealing with sewer issues.

My first impression of the telephone operator was great. She was very helpful. Even put my mind at ease. She said someone will be there as soon as possible. The Roto-Rooter man showed up at my door within an hour of my call in Mt Laurel, NJ. He was very courteous and fixed the problem quicker than I expected. He did a great job and cleaned up everything afterwards. In the past I've had bad experiences with plumbers. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

This past Sunday at 12:30 A.M. we noticed that our sewer main had backed up inside our house, and we had to get emergency service immediately. Within an hour, Roto-Rooter had come out and fixed the problem. The serviceman was very professional and fully explained everything that was done, and what should be done to help prevent any future problem. The only reason I do not give full marks is that I think the charge was high ($370 less $40 coupon). However, we are grateful that they came out at that time of night on a weekend to fix the problem.

They're a rip off, 300$ to run a snake for 3min. On top of that, they came to fix a kitchen drain. Now I have sewer water in my basement, they don't want to reimburse me my money nor do they want to fix my basement drain. On top of that I had to call another plumber who only charged me 150$. So thats 450$ not to mention Thanksgiving is next week. So please dont call Roto Rooter, they're a scam. If you're in the philadelphia area call Stream Line Plumbing !!!
