Our sewer line backed up after hours. We called Roto-Rooter and they had someone there within hours. Matt was great and was able to clean our line out. He was so professional, kind and knowledgeable. Price was very reasonable and we are very thankful to have a clear sewer line again! We wouldn't hesitate to call Roto-Rooter again! Thank you Matt and Roto-Rooter!!!

Roto Rooter out of Manheim PA did sewer work for the house across the street from mine. While my property was not involved in this sewer work Roto Rooter used my sidewalk to run their mini excavator on and to store stone/mud blocking my front door an emergency exit out of my home. When they cleaned the stone of the sidewalk they used their mini excavator to drag it off causing deep gauges in the sidewalk and scrapping off the top in places. They also left mud all over the sidewalk and did not make any attempt to clean it off. Now Roto Rooter refuses to take responsibility for the damage and replace what they damaged.

I called to have a 10 foot piece of a water pipe replaced. After having to wait for over 5 hours, someone showed up and didn't ha e the equipment to fix it. Next day he's late and when it was completed, it cost me $450. 350 of that was labor. He was here less than 2 hours. 175 per hour labor???? I wish I got paid like that. Ridiculous

Wish I had seen this other review before I called. Crazy overpriced! Had someone here to fix a leaking pipe that caused a lot of damage. Total he was here 40 minutes about 10 doing the actual work. I didnt think anything of the $209 estimate cause I didn't know any better and just really wanted to get our water back on. Parts themselves would have been about $20 but unfortunately found out later they get $180/hr whether they are there 5 minutes or the full hour. Just crazy. Nothing against the tech himself who was very friendly though.

If you need something done fast and don't mind paying, they were here within 2 hours of me calling. But if you're able to hold out for any other option do it!

RUN FROM ROTO ROOTER HARRISBURG/LANCASTER! THEY WILL GROSSLY OVERCHARGE FOR SERVICES. I woke up to 2 inches of water in my basement and realized my sump pump stopped working. I called Roto Rooter, Harrisburg/Lancaster 717-234-3332 and had someone come out. A gentleman came and took a look and wrote an estimate on the spot. $935 to replace a sump pump and exposed my sump pipe the backyard. I thought it was high but I'm no expert and trusted them. He installed the sump in 20 minutes and dug around in the backyard for a bit to see if the line was clogged. All in he was there 2-2 1/2 hrs tops and that included talking to us and a $5,985 estimate to replace my existing sump pit. That evening I looked at the sump and realized how easy it was to hook up. Also I found that I could buy the exact same sump pump for $160. Add a piece of pipe to the sump and that's over $300 per hour! To top it off the basement flooded 2 days later, sump couldn't keep up. Lesson learned, I was taken. The only positive was the gentleman, Adam was very friendly. LEARN FROM ME, DON'T, DON'T CALL ROTO ROOTER HARRISBURG & LANCASTER IN LESS YOU WANT TO PAY DOUBLE!

Shady, shady, shady. Tried to rip me off. First stated $330 to snake a clog. I said no, too expensive, and I would get my usual plumber (who wasn't initially available) Then all the sudden (when my original plumber showed up) price went to $200, which included camera with snake. My plumber told me, good deal, you should get the camera done, then he left. Then price went to $225. I agreed, then was asked to sign a contract, which was blank. Made the guy put the price down, which he did, but didn't write what services would be performed. I asked him to write down the services to be performed today. He then wrote down ""cable and camra"" (nice spelling). So, I agreed and signed. He then says he will schedule the camera, after he already told me he would do camera with snake. I told him that I would pay half now and remainder when job complete, as I didn't get a good feeling that he would come back. He said ""no, payment in full is required now"". I told him to get the hell out. My usual plumber came back and snaked the clog for $100. When I reviewed the signed contract, which I voided, my copy did not have any carbon copy of the services to be provided. He was a scammer for sure.

We had no choice but to call Roto Rooter for a backed up pipe when we only have only one bathroom and it was 9:30 at night; they do respond to these types of calls, yes at a price, but it was something that was a necessity. However, after, $431 later and told the pipe was cleared, we still have a backed up a pipe and now sewage coming up with it. And to call customer service for them to do NOTHING. We now have a call into person holding the plumbing license. Please beware of the technicians coming into your house, our initial tech was OK, it was the followup tech with the camera that was a sham! Please be VERY aware and I would NOT recommend their service.

Jemelia couldn't have been more efficient and professional. She moved heavy things for me, cleaned up thoroughly and worked diligently to remove the clog. She explained the problem and even took the dirty rags to the laundry room for me. I highly recommend Jemelia and Roto Rooter. Great Job!
