Poor craftsmanship, failure to return phone calls, misleading and confusing fine print on how to handle warrantied/guaranteed work, poor customer service from ""KC"" when trying to resolve the issue to my satisfaction (not hers.) In fact, I was hung up on. Never again...look elsewhere! Go local (not corporate) and check out plumber numbers!

When we called a plumber to snake two drains, I was under the impression this would be somewhere in the range of $250-$300. Several
Local plumbers had quoted this, but none of them could come out as quickly. For 1.5 hours of work I was charged $907.02 with NO EXPLANATION PRIOR that the tech's labor fee would be $861.00

Unless your Roto Rooter plumber happens to use a drain snake made of gold and crusted with diamonds, pass them on by for your local neighborhood plumber.

I will never use Roto Rooter ever again. What a scam.

Update: Surprisingly, Roto Rooter heard my complaints and decided to bring the bill down to a much more manageable and reasonable level. While I can't say that I will use their service again in the future at this time, I will say this: They heard, and listened. Which I appreciate very very much. I'll be changing my star review from a 1 to a 3 as a way of saying thanks.

I had my sump pump and backup pumps replaced after the original ones malfunctioned. Roto Rooter knew the urgency so accommodated to my time and gave me a very competitive price on parts and labor. They were courteous and very thorough in their work. Highly recommend them over anyone else.

I had a backed up toilet that need prompt repair. I called late in the afternoon. They sent a Tech to come between 5-7. The tech arrived around 6. He nice and professional. Wore booties in the house. Looked at toilet told me what he thought it needed, gave me an estimate before starting, had me sign the went to work. After about 15-20, he called me to let me the first approach was not working and he would need to pull the toilet to clear the clog. Again gave me an estimate an got my agreement before starting work. About 20-30 minutes later he called me up again to show me the toilet was fixed! He flushed toilet paper down several time to prove the clog was cleared, pointed out somethings that may need attention soon. Cleaned up and was on his way.

May only complaint is that it was a little pricey, and he could've cleaned up a little better. But overall, a good experience! Toilet fixed same day!

This morning, I had one of your supervisors, come to my home to clean a sewer drain. He showed me a camera video of my sewer line pointing out where it was 'broken and irreparable'.

I trusted your company to be reputable. However, after signing an agreement putting me on the hook for more than $7,000, I had another opinion.

The second opinion, from Express Drains LLC, who gave me a copy of the video he took, attached hereto.... showed me that in fact, what I was looking at was NOT broken lines.

I honestly do not know how your company/employees sleep at night. How unfair and unethical this procedure !! I am appalled.

Therefore, according to the cancellation terms and conditions on your agreements, I hereby, today, April 8, 2016, cancel the work order for **** ***** Street, Philadelphia, Pa *****

Thank you, however, ?for cleaning my sewer line and I will be sure to mention at the top of my lungs, how unethical is your company to anyone and everyone who cares to listen.

I understand that I have three business days to get this cancellation to you.

This letter ?will also be sent to you Certified with a RETURN RECEIPT requested.

I recently had some re-work done on plumbing installation in my shower and called Roto-Rooter to the rescue. Once the agent arrived, #2295, he thoroughly diagnosed the problem and because this was a call back did not charge anything for the visit. He not only fixed the inner lining of the shower faucet but soldered the pipe to insure a permanent long term fix as opposed to using the standard plastic application on the faucet. The agent provided me his personal number to ensure that I could easily reach him in case something went wrong. I am greatly appreciative to any service agent that is so responsive and timely in assisting with projects around my house. Thanks Roto-Rooter and especially thank you to agent #2295!

Very informative and thorough, the down side is we had to wait 4 hours for someone to show up because he had complications an another job and no on one else was in the area to come. Which meant we couldn't shower or use the bathroom. The arrival time the said was 11 but he didn't show up, plus on their part is they did call regularly to keep us updated.

The technician was very nice and competent. I was changed about $400 over the initial quote...Probably won't use them again..but it was an emergency.

They arrived promptly-scheduling the appt. on line was the only good thing about this company. My basement floor drain was backing up. The RR guy spent 15 minutes trying to snake the drain and then he put the camera down. ""Oh, no-you've got a really bad problem-one of the worst I've seen!"". He showed a camera picture of a pipe, completely blocked by tree roots.
He said that I needed to have the entire garage/basement floor jackhammered up and the pipes replaced with PVC. He told me I could never sell the house unless this work was done, and homeowners insurance doesn't cover it. He kept telling me horror stories until I was crying and then he quoted me $21,898 for the job. He told me about their various financing options.
He never even gave me a proper written estimate, and then he charged me $250 for what he had done.
I did call my homeowner's insurance. They were very familiar with this scam. They sent their plumber the next day. He brought heavy duty equipment-snaked the drain about 40ft and it came out clean. Then he used his camera-found NOTHING. Roto rooter must have shown me a camera shot from another pipe-not mine. The honest plumber said that my drain most likely had backed up from too much toilet paper.
If, I ever see Roto Rooters truck parked in my neighborhood, I will knock on the door and tell them what happened to me.

Had some water leaking in the basement, called roto rooter and had technician here first thing the next morning. Very timely, polite and professional.
